I'm not normally a fan or Leslie jones' update bits but her going off on flowers was great[Edited on February 14, 2016 at 11:17 PM. Reason : Also "oh ya I knew HE was black..."]

some very good sketches like horror movie test run, family movie night, rap battle thing, etc

so i guess there was an snl last night...somehow it evaded my dvr.http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/episode-guide/season-41/jonah-hill-with-future/1697
3/6/2016 5:35:38 PM
the network switch has messed up every season passyou didn't really miss much. really disappointing episode considering Jonah Hill has been a pretty awesome host in the past. Future ruled, though
3/6/2016 5:53:11 PM
These were pretty good, but all I've seen so far
3/7/2016 12:55:38 PM
Yeah, I thought most of it was decent.I guess I'm old, but I really don't get music like Future. I can't really understand what he's saying, a lot of it is just repeating lines over and over while being extremely auto-tuned... I've heard quite a bit of that in the last few years, and it just doesn't seem like it takes a lot of talent, and the lyrics don't seem to be very thoughtful. I know some will disagree, but that's just my opinion.
3/7/2016 1:15:04 PM
while lyrics can be important with some artists, they mean absolutely nothing when it comes to Futureall about the sound and feelingand posting rap lyrics without context is never a good idea
3/7/2016 1:21:35 PM
Said no one who has studied language ever. The mind travels on roads paved with words. If you fill your brain with 3rd grade level urban ignorance then what do you think your world will look like? Are we out of good lyrics or are these people just lazy?[Edited on March 7, 2016 at 1:24 PM. Reason : ]
3/7/2016 1:22:45 PM
^^what context should be provided for those lyrics?
3/7/2016 1:52:56 PM
the music that accompanies the lyrics?would you be a fan of "Last Caress" if you only had the lyrics and not the music/way Danzig delivers the lyrics?
3/7/2016 2:00:05 PM
OK, fair point. But at least Danzig is a talented singer and doesn't rely on extreme auto-tuning.(and i do have issues with some of the The Misfits silly lyrics)(and i know i'm being a curmudgeon, but i think this kind of music (is it "trap music?) along with reality tv and the republican debates just shows how stupid society is getting). And it's a disservice to link this music with the Dungeon Family/Goodie Mob/Outkast But i thought some of the skits were pretty funny....
3/7/2016 2:07:49 PM
the vocal effects are a conscious choice that contributes to the overall sound of the musicit's not like he's hiding his real singing voiceit's just the evolution of the genre
3/7/2016 2:12:40 PM
I thought Future (or "The Future"??) was horrible...but I hate pretty much 99% of current rap/hip-hop...or at least the mainstream stuff. With the exception of Kendrick and some J. Cole...its all garbage...IMO of course. There was no unique sound, lyrics, or even a great beat to those performances on SNL.

Vinyl...do you also like Future and/or think his performance on Saturday "ruled"?I'm just trying to figure out the differences between you and thegoodlife3.
3/8/2016 2:48:21 PM
The Beach Boys, Monkees and many other musicians let the wrecking crew play the instruments on their studio recordings as an artistic decision. J/K
3/8/2016 2:53:06 PM
Ha, I saw bullets ppost and was gonna say "you and jbrick would get along", then scrolled down and saw jbricks post
3/8/2016 7:59:29 PM
they're quick to provide snark/"get off my lawn" when you give praise to something that they don't likegod forbid you criticize something and they don't agree with it, though
3/9/2016 12:58:14 AM
So pretty much what you and 99% of the posters in The Entertainment section do all the time? I do include, "IMO" in most of my posts that are...in my opinion. Sorry if that offends you.
3/9/2016 7:34:58 AM
who said anything about being offended?
3/9/2016 12:51:39 PM
IMO...you seem butthurt. But I could be wrong.

3/9/2016 2:20:20 PM
i wasnt going as far as goodlife, just know jbrick has a history of grandpa'ing about autotune at every opportunity. nothing annoying or frustrating or anything, just funny to me.

can't wait to tell kids to get off my lawn when the NFL is played by all robot players, but that's just the evolution of the game and I'm a grandpa for not embracing itauto-tune in general is a shitty gimmick like a fedora. T-Pain can pull off that fedora. Most can't.[Edited on March 9, 2016 at 10:48 PM. Reason : .]

Solid episode last night. I've heard Ariana Grande songs in passing, but didn't realize she could sing so well.
3/13/2016 1:52:53 PM
she did good, the episode sucked other than weekend update
3/13/2016 7:39:51 PM
I thought it was pretty decent. Was very surprised at how well Grande did in the skits...although they were perfectly tailored for her. The Rihanna impression gave me a good chuckle. The Bernie/Hillary stuff was good as was the weekend update (major lulz at Che overpaying fat women in a strip club). The "Not Feminist a Song" was really bad. Not a fan of her music, but Grande has a crazy voice and the performances were much better than I've seen her do in the past.B- episode overall.
3/14/2016 10:02:44 AM
The songs are very hit-or-miss, but the good ones ("(Do It On My) Twin Bed," "Wishing Boot," "First Got Horny 2 U") are so good I don't mind the bad ones so much.
3/14/2016 2:38:51 PM
^ Don't forget "Back Home Baller".
3/14/2016 3:32:00 PM
^ only because of Leslie Jones' verse]
3/14/2016 3:45:59 PM
It was the icing on that cake.
3/14/2016 5:08:35 PM
man that episode was rougghhh. spacepants got a little laugh just b/c of the weirdness and the investigation thing at least had a pulse, everything else was tough
4/3/2016 2:15:10 PM
I laugh at dick jokesthus I enjoyed the Glory Hole restaurant and Pete Davidson's part of Weekend Update
4/3/2016 3:45:49 PM
i've never caught on to Pete Davidson, must be too old. the 3 inch penis joke is just so tired at this point.btw, they always talk about the 10-to-1am skits being the weird ones that made it in, feels like every skit tonight fit that bill. Not sure if Dinklage liked the weirder stuff or what.Oh, that made me think, the shit stained boxers skit was decent too
4/3/2016 4:29:56 PM
I turned it on during 'Naked and "Afraid.' That one was good.'Glory Hole' was ok.
4/3/2016 4:54:13 PM
Prince tribute / special tonight
4/23/2016 10:51:26 PM
What was the intro? I missed the first 10 minutes.
4/24/2016 12:19:17 AM
Jimmy Fallon talking about him and then what I assume was his first SNL performance back in the day
4/24/2016 12:25:30 AM
Mediocre / overrated rapper, very good SNL episode though[Edited on May 15, 2016 at 1:23 AM. Reason : he's kinda like Will Smith in that sense, better actor than rapper]
5/15/2016 1:18:10 AM
Oh Drake was on last night? He usually does a good job
