It was only there because of the over the top dickish statement preceding it.

Instead of telling people "oh, everyone is beautiful" we really should be teaching everyone "your outward appearance, insofar as your supposed beauty, is irrelevant and unimportant in relation to your value as a human being" and while that's the point behind telling everyone they're beautiful, it's not the message that's actually getting across.

i'll see trainwreck as a vote with my wallet for female leads but i kind of hate Judd Apatow a lot lately. Too much obligatory drawn out drama, and pretty much zero actual cinema acumen. what I saw of This Is 40 was horrendous. this is a problem with Feig too i think. Spy was incredible but could've been fucking perfect if the filmmaking wasn't so bland.

I hate to say it, but yes, your outward appearance does matter. If you have so little self control that you allow yourself to become fat and would rather stuff your face with cheese and sugar then it is an indictment of your character.

Someone like Chris Christie is a perfect example. He should never be president because he clearly lacks self control. In addition to his numerous insane stances on things, it's also quite clear that he lacks impulse control and cannot make good long term value judgments.

I'm not talking about being shallow here, but if you don't do little things like shower regularly and have a generally healthy lifestyle it is a reflection on your character. No need to become obsessive about your appearance, but it definitely says something about you if you don't take care of yourself in very basic ways.

I didn't love it. There were good bits, Lebron and Cena were very funny, but at the end of the day it's a sort of by-the-numbers rom com that happens to star a bunch of people I like.
