^ +1 on this. Only a couple episodes left to watch, and I love it. I love that they cast Broderick for this. And pretty sure it was greenlit on season two

Finished The Irishman. Could have easily been under 2 hours if Scorsese wasn't so self indulgent. That being said, I enjoyed almost all of it.

Yeah. The Irishman was good, but I would have enjoyed it even more about 40 minutes shorter.

Take out about 3 of the Deniro to pachino "The bosses want you to quit" conversations. Cut about 15 minutes out of the ending and you are probably pretty close to perfect.

Also, did the de-aging CGI make their eyes look like the characters in polar express to anyone else?

Deniros eyes were a less awful(but still awful) version of depp when he played an irish character imo

I really enjoyed it, but how old was Deniro supposed to be for the majority of the movie/when he got started with the mob?

I enjoyed it just for the fact that it was the first gangster movie that didn't glorify the life like other recent films such as Legend. I would love for De Niro and Pesci to get oscar nods for this, but I don't think that it will happen this year.

I also liked that I was not too familiar with this real life character, and I think that he has an amazing story.

Not yet. The writing team is working on a 2nd season but it has not been officially greenlit for a season 2 yet.

I really hope it does, but it seems no one I know has actually watched the show. Hoping I can convince them to give it a try, it was a really pleasant surprise.

Watched "Marriage Story" last night. While depressing, not nearly as much so as I expected. There were actually some pretty funny moments in it. Adam Driver is becoming one of my favorite actors. That dude has been great in every role Ive seen him in.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Nailed It here?

Basically a comedy cooking show. Bad bakers try to make really fancy baked goods. It's very entertaining.

Watched the first episode of "V Wars" and debating whether or not I'll watch another.

Didn't hook me with the first episode and not really sure I care where the story is going.

Bout 5 episodes in. It's no Chernobyl, but it is entertaining enough. Reviews have panned it though.

De Niro was so good in the Godfather pt 2 playing the young version of Marlon Brando's character. I wonder why filmmakers don't bring in young actors for flashbacks anymore. Even if they perfected de-aging CGI, I'd still prefer the old way.

They touch on that in the "The Irishman: In Conversation" on Netflix. It's Scorsese, Deniro, Pacino and Pesci talking around a Table.

Finished the first(and hopefully not only) season of "V Wars".

Started really slow but I was actually into the story by the end of the season. Felt like it could have been on SyFy though instead of Netflix.

Also made me really wish Netflix or HBO would make their own version of "The Strain" series or "World War Z".

I really wanted to like 6 Underground, because Ryan Reynolds. But man, it's pure Michael Bay trash.

Why does he think explosions look like fireworks?

Finally watching The Irishman. 40 min into and I’m about to pull the plug.

Money grab. Deniro curb stomping was it for me. No de-aging cgi can fix that they walk like octogenarians.

Damnit! Daybreak was great.

I kinda blame Netflix for it flopping, it wasn't advertised well, had no buzz, and the little preview that automatically plays really didn't do it justice.

^^ Messiah is good, if a little overly dramatic. Definitely keeps one guessing a bit.

Locke and Key adaptation looks interesting

Messiah is really good but I'm having a hard time giving a shit about the Texas people.

I thought it was neat they used a real photo of the Durham skyline behind the hotel desk when they stopped in Durham

Finally got around to seeing the Irishman last night.

I didn't think it was as good as Rotten Tomatoes thinks it is, however it wasn't as bad as the bad reviews. I felt like De Niro acted like De Niro, Pesci acted like Pesci, and Keitel acted like Keitel. The only one who acted like someone other than their own persona was Pacino.

I can take it or leave it.

are mixing up Pacino and Pesci?

Pacino was very Pacino and Pesci was completely different than the Pesci we’ve come to expect

Messiah does slow a bit but stick it out through the end of the season. I think it is solid and I hope they don't cancel before season 2. The Durham scene was pretty cool. As a meteorologist, I was upset they had the tornado being anti-cyclonic. While that can happen, it is pretty rare, but then again if it was divine intervention who is to say? lol.

Can't wait for it to be their best season yet so Netflix can go ahead and fucking cancel it, fucking assholes. I'm still pissed off about Punisher and The OA.
