I got my dad the book for xmas and read the first chapter and it seemed a bit less shitty somehow, I think the story lends itself to being inside his brain

Yeah I mean it's supposed to be a bunch of log entries. The book is much funnier/more entertaining than the movie IMO.

Ridley Scott had some eccentric qualities. It's like they've been ironed out as long as he can do a space movie or epic war movie. That's the only thing that bothers me. Great movie night movie.
