I hope people realize the top 2 acc teams will likely be top 5 in the country all year and the next 3 will be top 15. You think we're at that level?Paige is the only defection that would hurt UNC. They are just so deep all over the place. I know they'll be good as long as Tony is there but How is UVA's rim protection without Atkins. Its nitpicking but thats what being #1 requires. I could see UVA 1 but also as low as 5 in the deep conference. Theres just too many good teams.[Edited on March 30, 2015 at 10:43 PM. Reason : k]

I'll take Brooklyn for the first two rounds and then south regional in Louisville please. (second vote is philly)
3/31/2015 3:06:30 AM
I mean, we would be that good if we played even average defense for our talent level but I'm not delusional.
3/31/2015 10:18:14 AM
UNC and UVA should be the favorites. Top of the conference won't be as strong as I expect Duke, ND and UL to regress (the latter quite a bit) but the conference is going to have far more depth this season.
3/31/2015 10:46:13 AM
UNC and UVA will definitely be in contention for the #1 spot, but Louisville is bringing in a top 5 recruiting class and Duke has a top 10 class and both have HOF coaches. I imagine they'll both be top 25 all year along with UNC and UVA.NC State, Miami, and FSU should all be better next year based on this season, what they're returning, and incoming classes. Syracuse has a top 10 class but lose Christmas, so I imagine they'll be similar to this year.We were preseason #10 this year, I imagine we'll be preseason #5 or so next year if we don't lose anyone.Going to be a tough year in conference, never bank on teams with HoF coaches to have "down" years. Yeah Duke loses 3-4 key players, but they'll still end up being solid.
3/31/2015 12:53:05 PM
McCullough is gone. Earl at this rate your boys aren't even going to be able to print their undefeated Novmber tees.Pretty much guaranteed to be better than Cuse next year (and I'd say UL too)
4/2/2015 11:45:06 AM
I mean I think we will but asking NC State to guarantee being better than anyone may be pushing it haha
4/2/2015 12:17:24 PM
you guys know that lacey or cat is turning their ankle in game 2 next year right
4/2/2015 12:45:46 PM
HE IS NOW, ASSHOLE
4/2/2015 12:59:26 PM
I just hope we reach the Final Four next year...
4/4/2015 7:23:15 PM
Yeah, a final four would be pretty sweet.

4/5/2015 5:49:18 AM
i'm 100% positive NC State will never have that kind of success for as long as i live.
4/5/2015 5:58:48 AM
That's russell Wilson's schooooooool
4/5/2015 9:52:56 AM
I am ready for a countdown clock.
4/6/2015 9:17:28 PM
Watching these schools perform shows how far away we still are from competing on this level...its sobering
4/6/2015 9:35:50 PM
I mean. We did beat one of these teams by double digits this season.
4/6/2015 9:41:38 PM
We have no problem playing on this level. Our problem is playing on low levels.
4/6/2015 9:45:43 PM
Its gonna be a long painful process. Nobody said it was easyyyyyyyyyyyy
4/6/2015 9:45:59 PM

he'll be too busy campaigning to be president next year to bother with basketball.

allen is more of an athlete than a shooter so that doesnt make a ton of sense.

The only way I see us cracking the top 15 for most of the year is if Barber and either Abu or Anya become first round picks next year.
4/7/2015 7:14:22 AM
No way in hell we're top 15 next year. Rinse/repeat.
4/7/2015 8:07:45 AM
Maryland as #4? And I fully admit that I know next to nothing about MD - but that seems crazy given that they're losing Wells. And they're Maryland. But I guess they do have Diamond Stone coming in.
4/7/2015 8:10:49 AM
I mean it's great we're getting hyped as potential top 20 team, but let's not forget, we're ranked 16th and still have 3 ACC teams ranked ahead of us.Will help as we'll have several months being ranked preseason for recruiting with the 2016 class though.
4/7/2015 8:23:10 AM
4/7/2015 8:28:45 AM
^^^^^I think there's a pretty decent chance Abu and Barber get drafted in the first round next year.I think anya will need a fourth year of development in college. But he could explode into the scene next year too if he puts it all together
4/7/2015 8:40:00 AM
^ehh, i'm beginning to think anya is what he is at this point. i just can't see his offensive game taking that big of a step forward. i hope i'm wrong, of course.
4/7/2015 12:00:34 PM
is he still trying to lose weight or is he where they want him now?
4/7/2015 12:05:36 PM
Gottfried has mentioned that he could stand to lose a bit more weight. I think he's got room to improve like a Richard Howell-esque beast.
4/7/2015 12:06:47 PM
I seem to recall Gottfried making a statement along the lines of "[If he wants to realize his true potential, he needs to buckle-down and lose another 25 pounds]"
4/7/2015 12:09:31 PM
he could lose all the weight in the world and it wouldn't matter if he never develops any post moves
4/7/2015 12:11:17 PM
4/7/2015 12:12:29 PM
main difference i saw between us and the teams in the F4 was their big men could all handle the ball. we have two stiffs on the court pretty much all game. i guess freeman handles the press well but hes not exactly a playmaker in the half court
4/7/2015 12:49:05 PM
We don't need big men to handle the ball to get on that level...we just need them to be more reliable scorers. The thing is that could come in many ways...Abu has a nice shot (inconsistent), obviously we know what Washington can do (need to be better on the defensive end)...and then there is Anya who has the potential to be a solid low post scorer with his size and length. The more scorers you have, the tougher you are to defend and its less likely you have those scoring droughts that lead to losses.
4/7/2015 12:51:48 PM
man why can't this overweight sophomore already have a full arsenal of low post offensive moves?
4/7/2015 1:10:05 PM
anya's moves are fine. his footwork is sloppy when the moves dont work and he needs to work on his hands
4/7/2015 1:19:13 PM
I see your #16 & #17 above & raise you a #10http://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2015/4/6/8356739/2015-2016-college-basketball-early-ranking-top-25-north-carolina-kentucky-virginia

good lord ... they hype train is real no one learned in 2012
