WEAK FLORIST SHIT
3/10/2015 7:18:22 PM
Why is it ending on Saturday?
3/10/2015 7:22:28 PM
i think so the selection committee doesn't have to wait til the 11th hour to do the seeding
3/10/2015 7:23:17 PM
And the stronger teams always complained about getting less rest before their Thursday game in the big tourney.I do not like the new schedule, but it's whatever. It's gonna be different cause of all the new teams anyway.
3/10/2015 7:29:04 PM
^ I agree. I know I sound like an old fart. But I like the tourney ending on Sunday. And I like it being in Greensboro. The fact that it no longer ends on Sunday and won't be in Greensboro for a long time makes me sadUnrelated: I am stupid and trying to figure out how the tourney would've worked with Cuse eligible. Are there then 3 Tuesday games?
3/10/2015 7:55:50 PM
Pitt would have wound up with a play-in game if Cuse was eligible
3/10/2015 8:01:46 PM
^that what I figured thanks
3/10/2015 8:10:08 PM
Sounds like there were two good games today, wish I could have seen them. I am from Greensboro although I live in the Raleigh area since college and I hate to see the tournament most likely leaving Greensboro. And I highly doubt that the four teams that played today during a work day will draw a big crowd in New York City, but we will see.

I'm fine with the new schedule as long as teachers still let their students watch the games.I don't care that it's 4 school days now instead of 1 like it was when I was in school.
3/11/2015 7:15:39 AM
3/11/2015 7:32:52 AM
historically speaking... given that at least one or two prior ACCT games go longer than planned on a given day - how likely is it that NCSU/PITT starts later than 7pm?
3/11/2015 7:52:11 AM
0%, because the game before it will be over by 430 or 5.[Edited on March 11, 2015 at 7:53 AM. Reason : foo]

BC, Slayer of the Wolp fack, winner of 4 in a row, will upset UNC today. You heard it hear first.
3/11/2015 8:36:45 AM
I wouldn't mind purchasing semifinal and final day tickets to the one in Brooklyn. I couldn't justify spending an entire NY trip just to watch basketball, but I think I could get three games out of it. But with my luck, we'd lose in the first round.
3/11/2015 8:37:25 AM
I could justify a trip to New York for basketball. But I couldn't justify spending four days of a NYC trip on basketball, especially when I've never been. But take a four day trip, and depending on what our seed is, spend 2 days sight seeing, and two days watching the games. Would be doable.Good thing about GSO or Charlotte is you go there and you watch the games, you don't feel like you need to stop by and see the white house or something.
3/11/2015 9:29:24 AM
Assuming we do well in NC, having the tourney in different markets could really help recruiting, guize.

Best case scenario, we get a double bye the NYC years. Then everyone is happy.
3/11/2015 10:15:44 AM
^^ You can't just watch the State games and sightsee otherwise? [Edited on March 11, 2015 at 10:19 AM. Reason : like you would really enjoy watching the shitty games more than sightseeing?]
3/11/2015 10:17:43 AM
I believe what he's saying is that during ACC Tournament, there's nothing he'd rather do than watch the ACC Tournament, which I agree with. Which is feasible in GSO or Charlotte. It's not feasible in NYC.He's not saying he'd plan a trip to NYC during non-ACCT and watch crappy basketball instead of sight seeing.
3/11/2015 10:22:27 AM
3/11/2015 10:22:32 AM
Yes.
3/11/2015 10:22:56 AM
^^^ I guess I can see that. Personally I'd watch *some* basketball, and sightsee as well. Would be a fun combo trip.]
3/11/2015 10:35:23 AM
so...will Greensboro's economy turn to shit with the move?
3/11/2015 10:55:30 AM
It won't turn to shit, but it will lose $25 million in revenue per year. There is nothing else that brings in as much money. I would count on a few restaurants near the Coliseum to go out of business.Unrelated to Tournament location discussion, but teams to watch today for bubble purposes: http://www.theacc.com/news/miami-pittsburgh-nc-state-put-seasons-on-line-in-greensboro-03-11-2015[Edited on March 11, 2015 at 11:12 AM. i was gonna post, blasting that article for thinking we were still on the bubble. But after the kind words, I can't do that. Also, I'm in a perfect position at work today where I can watch both afternoon games. Gonna feel like middle school all over again![Edited on March 11, 2015 at 11:39 AM. Reason : sdf]
3/11/2015 11:38:26 AM
oh get the fuck out of here Swofford with this bullshit "not an institution...some people at an institution" bullshit. If you weren't a huge fucking hypocrit you'd already have UNC under ACC sanctions.
3/11/2015 11:51:37 AM
You guys do realize this isn't the first time the acc tournament won't be in Greensboro, right?Y'all acting like somebody died. I'm sure it will be better in NY than it has been in Atlanta and DC. If it's not, it'll just be in Greensboro more often.
3/11/2015 12:05:54 PM
For those of you who have ESPN3, ole Bubble Guts is playing at 12:30 in his conference tournament quarterfinals.
3/11/2015 12:16:30 PM
Rathan Mayes is dirty. Too bad hes playing for a garbage team.
3/11/2015 12:27:07 PM
what a snoozer

3/11/2015 12:42:43 PM
God, what a boring game.
3/11/2015 12:47:11 PM
You guys are retarded. This game is pretty entertaining. Good offense (especially for these two teams)...but even better defense. I love blocks. This tournament has been awesome so far and we haven't even gotten to the good teams yet.
3/11/2015 12:54:22 PM
ole... bubble guts?
3/11/2015 12:56:28 PM
7 turnovers Clemson. My goodness. Don't you want that last basket of the half??[Edited on March 11, 2015 at 12:56 PM. Reason : ]
3/11/2015 12:56:41 PM
^^^ Did you watch the games yesterday? This is pretty boring compared to those.[Edited on March 11, 2015 at 12:57 PM. Reason : _]
3/11/2015 12:56:56 PM
Bubble Guts = Ryan HarrowThe reference is from when he would sit out of big games due to a stomach ache (nerves). Transferred from NCSU to Georgia State after Syndey Lowe was fired.
3/11/2015 1:01:00 PM
I watched both. This game just has better defense. FSU is shotting 47% and Clemson is almost shooting 40%...which is pretty good for them. Obviously this game could be more exciting...but it's above expectations for two shitty teams where defense is their MO.Lowers your expectations guys. This wasn't going to be a barn burner. Just look for a close game and hope the teams shoot higher than 35%.
3/11/2015 1:01:13 PM
^^Don't leave out his stop in Kentucky before Georgia State. He had a lot of bubble guts there.
3/11/2015 1:05:35 PM
^^ minus the part where he was at Kentucky for 2 yearsI have no idea who's calling the game, but I was listening to Clemson/FSU on 99.9 and after someone got fouled and went to the line for two shots, one of them said "he'll have to get two points the old-fashioned way." made me wonder if he understood why the and-1 is called the old-fashioned three-point play or if he just heard the term before and was trying to apply it without knowing what he was talking about.
