Is it just me or was the intro to SPECTRE one of the worst Bond intros I've seen in a while. Song was crap.

Liked the intro.Movie had a couple set peices thay were ok.Weakly tied everything together. When you have a chance to tie the last 3 movies together this was a major let down. It seemed like there was just enough dialogue to get through the movie and nothing to out do it self.MmeeeehMajor meh

After seeing it again in theaters I've gotten to where I like Quantum of Solace more than this film. Quantum tried to do something different than Casino Royale, but due to the writer's strike the script ended up being a mess. With Spectre they had an Academy Award winning director & writer in place and couldn't muster a script that was built on anything other than some random Blofeld/Bond backstory subplot. Set pieces were impressive, but when the stakes are so low for the characters involved it's kind of hard to care too much about the action. I'm really hoping Mendes is finally done after this one. Bringing Spectre back wasn't the plan when they started with Casino Royale and then they tried to shoe horn Spectre into the plot of the last 3 films. I'm kind of hoping they go the route of On Her Majesty's Secret Service and just ignore the plot of the previous film altogether. Have Bond & Blofeld not even recognize each other in Bond 25 if it means it'll be a better film. I know he's probably too old at this point, but I'd love to see Martin Campbell (Goldeneye & Casino Royale) back as the director.[Edited on November 24, 2015 at 8:42 PM. Reason : tbdv]

ICan NotStandThat Damn old grey car.I dont care that it was in other filmsSeeing it on screen does jack shit except tell the audience that you are shoe horning crap to fill time rather than developing the characters or plot.Lazy.Though, honestly, when you see a movie like this you expect a writers strike to be one of the reasons it came out like it did. Something happened in production.http://www.forbes.com/sites/benjaminmoore/2015/03/15/james-bond-spectre-300-million-budget-mexico/I dont know how this movie cost that much. Nothing in the movie explains it except the giant explosions?Anyway, the last mission impossible movie was nothing butSetPeice1 - 3 lines of dialogue - SetPeice2 - 1 lines of dialogue - SetPeice3 - 4 lines of dialogue - SetPeice4

Did you mean to say "last Mission Impossible Movie" or were you trying to say the last Bond movie?Depending on how "real" the stunts were, I could see it being expensive. Two helicopters go boom, one pretty big prop plane destroyed, what, 4 gelandewagens...400k right there.

^^ I loved the way the DB5 was used in Brosnan's films. It was shown, but it wasn't constantly called back to as a plot piece like in Casino Royale and Skyfall. Seeing it again in Spectre was over kill. It showed up in 2 Connery films, not again until a sequence in Goldeneye, was seen very briefly in Tomorrow Never Dies, and has now been in 3/4 Craig movies.I agree about the last Mission Impossible film as well. Large set pieces and very sleek action movies, but that's it. I still think the first one is by far the best one. [Edited on November 25, 2015 at 11:31 PM. Reason : tbdv]

*spoiler*thought it was very cliche to have the villian in a helicopter flying slowly around watching everything, etc. Agree with the plots complaints as well.

Just saw it tonight. The opening few minutes of just walking through Dia De Los Muertos was fantastic all the way up to the rooftop. As soon as the building collapsed I was a little less interested in what was happening.I wish Blofeld had been in the shadows (like the meeting in Rome) the whole way through. The original Blofeld, iirc, didn't show his face the entire first movie he was in. The cat was a nice throw-in, but otherwise references to previous movies were forced a bit too much.I liked the rest of the movie enough to ignore the sibling rivalry concept.

So I'm a year or 2 late, but I finally watched this, and didn't think it was that bad. Definitely my second favorite Daniel Craig bond film, but still not as good as casino Royal
