so Tyler Brosius is a prospect in the ATL system - as a starter with the Mudcatsyes, the same QB Brosius that transferred from state in 2012 (?)http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/mlb/article17862527.html

6-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4/14/2015 12:03:01 AM
Ibt 4-16 stretch
4/14/2015 12:45:00 AM
Cahill got his stuff rocked tonight. We've got 3 real quality starters. After that, it gets a little ugly. Freeman and Pierzynski went long ball again tonight. Besides those two, little to nothing offensively.
4/14/2015 9:20:17 PM
Yeah, we're not gonna beat much of anybody 10-9 or anything. If we win it'll be pitching and maybe scratching one or two across.
4/15/2015 12:08:12 AM
Teheran getting rocked. 3rd inning and hes given up a homerun per inning so far.
4/17/2015 8:09:41 PM
no wonder Bautista hits 40 homers a season. The freaking Blue Jays stadium is a launching pad.Bats showed up tonight. Markakis is 4-4 with a walk...so he is basically 5-5 for getting on base tonight. Gomes and Freeman homer in the 8th to extend Braves lead to 8-5.[Edited on April 17, 2015 at 9:51 PM. Reason : sdf]
4/17/2015 9:50:21 PM
jim johnson gives up 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th. 8-7 Braves lead going to the 9thGrilli gonna have his work cut out for him. Bautista, Encarnacion first two batters up in bottom of 9th.[Edited on April 17, 2015 at 10:08 PM. Reason : sdf]
4/17/2015 10:05:24 PM
Grilli seals it with a k of bautista, a flyout of encarnacion and a groundout of navarro.

4/23/2015 4:40:15 PM
Barves.this team is really boring to watch. i just need to put together a Simmons highlight reel and watch that instead.
4/23/2015 4:50:16 PM
Yeah, i think the team that just played the Mets is the one everyone was/is expecting this season. And its prolly the one we'll get most of the time. I just wish they would go big in the losing thing so that they could get a top draft pick. If they somehow F around and win 70-80 games, thats gonna do absolutely nothing to better the future. The farm needs some studs.
4/24/2015 3:18:13 AM
^ I was thinking this yesterday too. I can't root for the Braves to lose, but in all reality, this team has no chance to do much more than win 75 games tops. I'd rather us lose a 100 and get a true impact prospect at the top of the draft than a riskier guy 6-8 picks later. The Braves farm system is actually not bad. Top 10 in Keith Law's rankings due to all of the solid trades we made (and that ranking does not include the Kimbrel deal). Hart is doing well so far in terms of building towards 2017. With Gomes and Grilli playing well and even Young and Piersynski, Hart is setting up even more trade bait for the trade deadline. We just need to hope a lot of teams are in the hunt come late July.
4/24/2015 5:03:43 PM
10-9 people. relax.
4/27/2015 10:43:42 PM
^since we started trading off last years team i've wanted this team to lose so that we could get a good draft pick. If we're gonna re-build with prospects, we need the best prospects we can get. Theres no point in this team playing .500 ball and us getting a 13-16 pick while still not making the playoffs. Its not about panicking or not being relaxed...its being rational.
4/28/2015 1:22:56 AM
that Nats game got a little chippy last night. Also, i'd rather it be anyone else than Simmons making those slides into the bag. I do not want a repeat of last year's (or was it '13?) broken hand.
4/28/2015 8:43:00 AM
Braves blew a 10-2 lead tonight.
4/28/2015 10:30:38 PM
That was brutal. Blow a huge lead and let a trash player you got rid of beat you in the 9th. Fucking Uggla is still the highest paid player on the Braves payroll.
4/29/2015 2:17:33 PM
this team fucking suuuuuccccckkkkkkkksssss
5/1/2015 9:27:00 AM
Over .500 for the first time in a little while
6/2/2015 12:04:56 PM
I'll admit that I am shocked that the Braves are playing as well as they are especially with Teheran basically pitching like a #5 all season. I can't ever root for my teams to lose so I am happy, but at the same time us winning 70-75 games this year does us no good in the long term. At least guys like Jace and Simmons are showing some offense which bodes well for the future and players like Markakis, AJ, Young, Maybin can all be trade fodder come the end of July.
6/2/2015 5:00:37 PM
bullpen is woeful. This offense is much better than I think anyone was expecting though. On another note, the draft is this monday and Tuesday and the Braves have 5 of the first 75 selections(14, 28, 41, 54, 75). Here is a good primer on what to expect:http://m.braves.mlb.com/news/article/128565764/braves-eye-talent-with-potential-for-immediate-impact[Edited on June 5, 2015 at 2:33 AM. Reason : sdf]

Reds just selected the catcher Stephenson that^ website said the Braves may be after. Braves pick at #14 and will be the next selection.
6/8/2015 8:20:27 PM
Braves select 17 year old high school LHP Kolby Allard from California with pick #14. Commenters on MLB Network said there is a little risk with this pick as he suffered a stress fracture of his lower back not long ago, however he is THE best high school pitcher in the draft.Next pick will be pick #28.[Edited on June 8, 2015 at 8:48 PM. 6/8/2015 8:33:20 PM
With pick 28, the Braves select Canadian HS RHP Mike Soroka. His delivery is silky smooth. Sits 92-94 with fastball. Has projectable major league plus pitches in his fastball, change and curve. Braves seem to be getting back to their 90's level drafting where they load up on HS pitchers early and often.
6/8/2015 10:10:54 PM
1-14 Kolby Allard LHP San Clemente HS 6'1 175
6/8/2015 11:43:28 PM
and the bullpen blows another game.
6/9/2015 7:56:04 AM
^Amazing to think that with a halfway decent bullpen, THIS team could be leading the NL East, lol. Quite apparent the Braves came into the draft focusing on pitching. Almost every pick was a pitcher, lol.
6/9/2015 11:00:20 PM
20 of the first 26 picks were pitchers.. I guess you can never really have enough
6/11/2015 3:11:35 PM

laugh out loud
6/12/2015 10:20:15 AM
Looking to take my son to his first professional baseball game (as well as mine). Whats the best place/site to get good Brave tickets/packages. Coming from NC.Thanks in advance. Thinking August 6/7 game against Pittsburgh III
6/12/2015 2:27:04 PM
If it's a day game, third base side. The sun sets behind there but it's still really miserable down first base until later. If it's a night game then.. WhereverUh we play Pittsburgh this month.. Not august.. [Edited on June 12, 2015 at 4:04 PM. Reason : No pirates. ]
6/12/2015 3:59:28 PM
he must have meant Aug 6/7 against the Marlins
6/12/2015 9:12:12 PM
Braves had bases loaded with 0 outs in the top of the 7th. Markakis grounded into double play and uribe grounded back to the pitcher to result in only 1 run.
6/12/2015 9:38:12 PM
damn i just realized i misread what he asked too, i thought it said best place to sit.. oh well
6/12/2015 9:39:14 PM
haha, i read it wrong as well. I would say either stubhub or the Braves website. I've used both to get tickets. I really don't know of anywhere special where you can get better deals??
6/12/2015 9:40:33 PM
I'd get to the gate a few minutes before the opening pitch, buy two tickets to the cheapest section (I think they're like 15 bucks for adults), stroll through the gate and sit wherever you please just in time for the game to start. In all seriousness, if it's a Sunday afternoon game that's exactly all you need to do. The ushers only check tickets for the 100 level seats, and the 200 level seats are nearly just as good. Saturday evening game may want to get ticket in advance to save time on game day, but no risk of anything selling out.
6/14/2015 4:27:25 PM
I'd keep this Jace Peterson kid if I were the braves. He's the type of player they haven't had in a while. Athletic, swings at good pitches, watches bad ones, gets on base, gets clutch hits. I know he doesn't have much power and peraza is comin up the pipes...but they need to find some way to keep his bat in the lineup in the coming years
6/19/2015 9:39:22 PM
Shouldn't be too hard, get rid of Uribe and Johnson, move whichever to 3B. Although Johnson is signed to a stupid contract for two more years..
6/19/2015 10:01:58 PM
Yeah. That would be the easy thing to do. Just wondering if the Braves believe he has enough power to hold down that spot
6/20/2015 1:15:07 PM
i think they are planning on keeping Jace. Peraza (the org's overall #1 prospect), was moved from SS to 2B, when Andrelton came around. this year, they started giving Peraza reps in CF
6/20/2015 6:01:10 PM
6/20/2015 11:58:41 PM
According to every scout & exec on twitter, it was a coup for the Braves
6/21/2015 9:23:03 AM
Spent the last two nights at Turner Field. This team is pretty fun to watch. Last night's game was sold out, which was pretty cool. Crowd got loud for the Uribe double play and Perez's bunt/slide into first base.
6/21/2015 9:41:12 AM
Sweeping the Mets is always a sweet feeling.
6/21/2015 8:39:55 PM
Braves have a ton of good arms now. Amazing what theyve done in the last year prospect wise
6/22/2015 5:10:39 AM
Shelby Miller is 0-10 over his last 18 starts with a 3.24 ERA. lol
