Ha probably true. Facebook and twitter are all about some Robin Williams. 90% of people are saddened, 5% are wondering why anyone cares about williams, or why we don't see similar posts about soldiers, the other 5% are posting things about how to deal with mentally ill friends/family.

It does make me want to watch Good Morning, Vietnam...never seen it.And probably my favorite role of his as a kid that no one seems to be mentioning, was:

whole lotta "how dare you grieve in a way that I don't grieve" going on with some. that and trolling.

I'll feel how I want to about what I want to.The guy was an incredible artist and though his comedy was too much for me, I enjoyed his movie roles immensely. It sucks to see a guy like him who basically seemed like a ball of energy and happiness, end this way. Thats what hits me the hardest. You can't count on much in life, I would not have guessed that he was so tortured. Wish someone could have reached him.

Wow man, you're really taking people's reations to this too seriously. It's kinda disturbing how much effort you're putting into explaining why people shouldn't care about this. I thought you were going to "lay low"?
8/12/2014 3:17:21 PM
Nah, just calling out jbrick on his half assed troll job.
8/12/2014 3:19:20 PM
^^ I just think I hit a nerve when I called him a hyprocite for bitching about people posting about Robin Williams when he used his grandmother's death to attention whore (again...nothing wrong with it...just noting the hypocrisy). And I'm actually a little surprised that Robin Williams' death has had no emotional effect on me, because I do think its really sad. I want to say that I'm emotional detached from people I don't personally know...but I get real choked up when I watch the Jimmy V speech every year. But I could also be relating that to family members who have had cancer. Oh well...

I was more stunned yesterday than sad, but today it was all sad. I almost brokedown when i saw the good will hunting bench pictures. He gave me so many moments of joy in my childhood. I know he knew he had tons of fans but im not sure he ever really knew of what he did for people as far as making them laugh and how important that can be. Despite all of his faults, this man was beloved

I was about to say "too bad Patch Adams wasn't around to cheer this guy up" but then I looked him up and he was a real guy who was pissed off by Robin Williams's portrayal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patch_Adams#In_media
8/12/2014 11:53:43 PM
yeah yeah goodnight sweet prince more like good morning vietnam or somethin'yeah shut up I know it was madealso his non-comedic material all suckshe's only good when he's attempting to be funny
8/13/2014 1:00:29 AM
That's not true, he was great in Mrs. Doubtfire and that was a serious movie.
8/13/2014 4:01:35 AM
Wow, thats sad about the film patch adams not giving a cent to help build the real patch adam's hospital. But... I'm reading now about how broke William's was, so maybe that explains why he, at least, did not give any money.

What kind of an example does this set for dying people? This man made millions upon millions and was gifted by God. Every time someone kills themselves it is a reminder that life is never worth giving up.
8/13/2014 11:10:23 AM
you can scream that at a depressed person until you're blue in the faceit doesn't work that way
8/13/2014 11:18:50 AM
parents non-depressed people just don't understand
8/13/2014 11:21:42 AM
^^ well then in the more cynical light, the rehab center in Minnesota where he was staying for treatment is probably bracing itself for the possibility of a massive wrongful death actionbecause (1) they should not have taken a lifelong addict off drugs especially at (2) age 63 with knowledge that the experts should have recognized that (3) massive disruptions to the brain chemistry at that age could lead to severe depression and suicideI blame his treating physician. He should never have been placed into treatment and should have been allowed to continue to self medicate.[Edited on August 13, 2014 at 11:22 AM. Reason : ]
the blame game is pretty dumb. but while we're at it, let's blame belt and pocket knife manufacturers since he hanged himself, his wife for not checking up on him during the night/morning (she should have known!), his agent for not finding him better work, the pharmaceutical industry for fucking up his brain chemistry on antidepressants, his parents for not loving him enough as a child, and finally his fickle fans of his work.

what are stategrad100 and stevedude's credentials?

I believe they've done significant work for the lizard people (particularly COBRA) in chemtrails, water water fluoridation, and cocaine deworming

Well for one thing, I almost graduated from NC State.

I haven't been on the Internets much, and I definitely don't have a Facebook. But anybody who has ever paid any attention to Robin Williams and claims to be shocked by this is completely oblivious.I coulda told you twenty years ago, as a pre-teen, that Robin Williams was absolutely going to kill himself. He was a crazy person--substance abuse was a symptom, not a cause. For that reason, I was only sad for a second. Then I was glad for the guy. He did alright.

Saw my wife's grandfather wither away from that after an early diagnosis. Some really fucked up shit. Between struggling to stay sober, anxious because his show got cancelled, nervous about having to do movies again, and being diagnosed with Parkinson's, I can see how Robin would have thought it was too much.
