Easily the best episode of the season, so far. Geppetto must be an episode off or something.

^I don't agree with his thesis but I hear where he's coming from. He's basically just giving praise to the show in general.
3/18/2015 11:52:18 PM
So nitpicky. I'm sure Mike will get a surprising arc at some point next season.

Not looking likely but I was really hoping we'd find out what messed up Chuck before the season ended. Also, I'm really liking how they have shown how much of a moral and honorable person Jimmy is. Aside from accepting the Kettleman money (which he turned in -- even though he had Mike break/enter to get it back to begin with), he has legitimately worked within the bounds of the law and seems to have the best interest of the old folks in mind. It does kind of remind me of Walter White in season 1 of BB though when he was just a teacher/family man.Sidenote: One small detail I noticed: Everyone has large flip phones as their cell phones. When Mike was talking to his daughter-in-law I was thinking "wtf is his cell phone so huge?" then I remembered that this is set in 2001. I like little things like that.

When Kim came to his "office" I thought she was gonna be all like "you're my boss now" and banging would ensue I love where this show is headed and agree with Wraith that they've done a wonderful job of illustrating how Jimmy really wants to be an honest attorney but he's just being held back by people who resent his resourcefulness (by his own family to boot). It will be very interesting to see him transition into being a comfortably corrupt attorney.

Yeah, it's hard to believe it is almost over. Loved it so far!

It was pretty bad to see his own brother shit on him the past episode. I am guessing the season is going to end with him at his worst, and the next season is going to show him becoming the lawyer he intends to be on the ruins of his former life.
4/1/2015 1:50:06 PM
Now that I think about it, the character of Saul is the complete opposite of Chuck. I can't believe I didn't see that before. The interesting thing is that even though Saul didn't go to as reputable a law school as Chuck, it seems like he still worked just as hard to get his degree. And to have his own brother completely demean and embarrass him because of it -- well we can start to see why he turns to the dark side. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts all the shady law work for the sole purpose of spite.

Has this been picked up for a second season yet?
4/1/2015 4:56:23 PM
pretty sure it was set for at least 2 seasons from the jump. probably mentioned somewhere earlier ITT.

You can Wiki it, but yeah.

4/7/2015 12:33:13 AM
good last episode. kinda what we all predicted - the catalyst to him going bad. they probably could didn't have to spell it out quite like they did with the last line but it was still pretty funny. Mike is the man.
4/7/2015 3:21:58 PM
Read it somewhere else, but since this episode was "Marco", the first episode of next season could be "Pollo."
4/7/2015 4:16:32 PM
not sure how I feel about the Marco guy being the newest guy on Last Man on Earth. ... that guy is showing up in too many shows at once
4/7/2015 6:55:20 PM
^^Ah, good catch there. I didn't notice it the first time around but someone pointed out that when Jimmy was going to get his new suit, one of the mannequins had Gus Fring's trademark yellow dress shirt and tie on in the background.

Really enjoyed this first season. After the first couple episodes i decided to watch this show the way I did Breaking Bad's middle seasons and that was to DVR all of them and watch them in groups over a couple days. A slow burn story like this was really much more enjoyable watching in quick succession. Even though I knew it was coming, it was still heart wrenching to see Chuck's unveil as the reason Jimmy could never get a job with HHM.

it's getting to that....
2/12/2016 3:47:32 PM
solid episode
2/16/2016 10:54:50 AM
Agreed
2/16/2016 12:44:48 PM
is anyone watching this?
2/23/2016 10:31:13 AM
I am. I think it's one of the best shows on television. Odenkirk has really made Saul a deep character but it's funny at the same time. If you want some commentary on the plot, I think that Saul is getting used and the world of luxury cars and offices, fancy desks, respect, etc. is going to come crashing down on him and he's going to lose everything in the process. I could also see the girl dying somehow - maybe from something that he does or people he gets involved with? Something has to permanently drive him into the shady lawyer we know him as in Breaking Bad.[Edited on February 23, 2016 at 10:47 AM. Reason : .]
2/23/2016 10:47:35 AM
^Probably his asshole brother^^I'm definitely still watching. Looking forward to Saul and Mike exploring his moral flexibility.
2/23/2016 1:29:31 PM
Mike is great. After this show is over I want a spinoff spinoff on the backstory of Mike.
2/23/2016 1:34:41 PM
WHAT ABOUT MY BASEBALL CARDS
2/28/2016 3:04:20 AM
one of my favorite aspects of the show is all the 2001/2002 details, don't recall any other recent show being set in that time. the spinners on the hummer, so perfect. the ramble about the clear coat, even better. what a great show.
2/29/2016 10:13:14 AM
I almost like this better than Breaking Bad. Great show
2/29/2016 11:49:41 AM
^^lol yeah all the flip phones too. Reminds me of high school.
