if Moses falls to us here in the 2nd round, that'd be pretty awesome
5/9/2014 8:59:50 PM
come on lets make this happen[Edited on May 9, 2014 at 9:14 PM. Reason : eh, Kony 2016 is ok I guess]
5/9/2014 9:12:20 PM
I like it.
5/9/2014 9:16:06 PM
He definitely said all the right things in the interviewI had a hunch it was rented/borrowed jewelry. Glad I was right.
5/9/2014 9:17:19 PM
Terrible pickhttp://thebiglead.com/2014/05/07/kony-ealy-of-missouri-is-a-classic-con-man-aldon-smith-type-player-says-nfl-scout/
5/9/2014 9:17:46 PM
is he going to play OTwtf
5/9/2014 9:19:02 PM
No one should be surprised, Getts has been saying we'd look at DEs in the draft for months, and even said yesterday not to be surprised if we took one on day two. It's just simple math, we can't pay both Greg Hardy and Charles Johnson $18mil a year. One of them has to go, and Ealy looks like a guy who could step right in and replace their production in a year or two.
5/9/2014 9:21:59 PM
wonder if he can play any outside linebackerWhat a con artisthttp://mizzoumag.missouri.edu/2013/08/sacks-for-sierra/[Edited on May 9, 2014 at 9:29 PM. Reason : .]
5/9/2014 9:22:03 PM
He'll fit in well with that war criminal Cam Newton
5/9/2014 9:55:17 PM
I like the pick. In 2015 it's probably safe to say we won't have both Johnson and Hardy on the DL.
5/9/2014 9:58:08 PM
That's cool and all, but we have like 3 o-linemen..[Edited on May 9, 2014 at 10:02 PM. Reason : Maybe those young guys will pan out]
5/9/2014 10:00:50 PM
I desperately want a tackle to at least come in and compete with Bell for the LT spotBut I feel better about our o-line having a big mobile QB who can roll out sometimes. I'd feel a lot worse if we had some statue like my Pack's Rivers or my Vols' Manning
5/9/2014 10:05:29 PM
^^ I'm sure Gettleman and co have a plan of what they're doing. And in the meantime, I'm not complaining about having a guy that was ranked as a top 3 or so DE in the draft fall to us.
5/9/2014 10:22:30 PM
anyone know anything about this Trai Turner?
5/9/2014 10:55:28 PM
I thought I had heard of him, then I remembered it was a different guy
5/9/2014 11:00:48 PM
he isnt a tackle
5/9/2014 11:02:36 PM
SF just drafted the tackle I wanted us to get, Thomas from Clempson. oh well
5/9/2014 11:18:19 PM
^The guy who can't play this year?
5/9/2014 11:38:48 PM
We've got the interior of the line sewn up with Amini, Kalil, and Turner. The backs have got to be rejoicing.
5/10/2014 8:38:19 AM
http://youtu.be/lr7NOECPmdoKelvin Benjamin's pro day. He runs a couple really nice routes in there.

5/10/2014 9:57:20 AM
draft starts at noon today, bros
5/10/2014 11:36:39 AM
This definitely makes me feel a little better about the Benjamin pick:http://www.panthers.com/news/article-2/Panthers-draft-WR-Benjamin-in-first-round/294b7f10-63a0-46b1-a083-99d9dd18f726They definitely did their research and evaluations on this guy. In Proehl (and Gettleman) we trust.
5/10/2014 11:37:41 AM
^^^^^^ wasn't aware he'd be out so longlooking back at the picks, I feel pretty good about the three so far. good value, smart forward thinking. just PLEASE address the rest of the needs today, especially OT and S
5/10/2014 12:05:24 PM
fuck needs. we need blue geese.
5/10/2014 12:13:30 PM
Yeah, I do like the picks, but I'd be interested to hear why they didn't pick Morgan Moses over Ealy. I think we brought him in to a private workout so I guess they saw something they didn't like. On paper he looked like the perfect fit for us at LT.
5/10/2014 12:54:02 PM
Its says they don't really think there is a huge gap between 2nd and 4th round talent at tackle.
5/10/2014 12:58:59 PM
Antonio Richardson then?
5/10/2014 1:06:10 PM
I'd be happy with that.I would also be happy if they went slot with DeAnthony Thomas if he drops to us.[Edited on May 10, 2014 at 1:17 PM. Reason : addresses special teams as he takes Ginn's spot as the returner too]
5/10/2014 1:10:27 PM
Chiefs just took him
5/10/2014 1:22:54 PM
yay for a safety boo for a tar hole
5/10/2014 1:35:11 PM
#bostonstrong ?
5/10/2014 1:39:56 PM
I think I missed a trade, somehow we ended up with Bene' Benwikere, CB, San Jose State, and Atlanta has our 5th rounder?edit: gave up our 5th and our 7th to Minn for their 5th; Minn traded our 5th to Atlantaleaves us with one pick left (6th) unless we trade down. still need a tackle. [Edited on May 10, 2014 at 3:37 PM. Reason : .]
5/10/2014 3:28:09 PM
I like Taylor Gaffney. Keeps up our legacy of white RBs, too.
5/10/2014 5:01:12 PM
Wouldn't be a Panthers draft if a RB wasn't picked. Overall I'm happy with the picks. I assume they are going to sign some journeymen lineman and try to patchwork it this season which can sometimes work out just fine.
5/10/2014 5:08:11 PM
don't really understand the rb pick unless they are expecting to cycle through guys even more. didn't really see much from kenjon barner last year....so how does he play in. not against it but seems like the o-line needed more help.
5/10/2014 5:53:55 PM
Barner was a trash pick. He probably doesn't crack the Top 5 Oregon RBs of the chip kelly era. This is about next year when we clear Deangelo or Stewart off the cap
5/10/2014 6:24:54 PM
eh, its the draft. everyone's a contender after the draft. I'll wait til they play the actual games. draft grades are dumb (I'm looking at you Mel Kiper)
5/10/2014 7:22:15 PM
5/10/2014 8:39:56 PM
they all will be great playing Offensive line
5/10/2014 8:53:53 PM
The draft is the only way to acquire players
5/10/2014 9:10:34 PM
Byron Bell at left tackle = 8 wins at best
5/11/2014 1:13:49 PM
speaking of how ridiculous draft grades are:http://nfl.si.com/2014/05/10/2014-nfl-draft-grades/?eref=sihp
5/11/2014 1:38:21 PM
i remember boston sticking out to me whenever i'd watch a carolina game...always seemed to be around the play, and knocking the shit out of peopleim kind of suprised he was there in the fourth roundalso
5/11/2014 4:11:29 PM
Crazy that Richardson and Hurst both went undrafted. Also, guess my intel on our coaching staff being low on Moses was correct.

UDFA:Corey Brown WR Ohio St.Carrington Byndom CB TexasDavid Foucault OL Montreal CarabinsJared Wheeler OT MiamiMarcus Lucas WR MissouriShaq Rowell NT WVUDenicos Allen LB Michigan StAndrew Norwell OL Ohio StJoel Murphy TE BUDarrin Reaves RB UABAlso looks like we signed former WV RB Noel Devine to a tryout:http://wvupros.com/2014/05/11/noel-devine-tryout-carolina-panthers/Devine is interesting as I remember he put up video-game stats in college but didn't get drafted. Evidently he played in the CFL last year and sucked. He killed it at WV's pro day this year though:
5/12/2014 4:11:02 AM
Philly Brown could be a contributor. Marcus Lucas is a 6'5" WR as well.
5/12/2014 6:51:01 AM
I hate UNC as much as the next guy, but still don't understand why Carolina wasn't all over getting Hurst to join us as an UDFA. Guy was solid for 4 years, projected 1st/2nd round pick heading into the year, breaks his leg in the bowl game, goes undrafted? Quite odd.
