i remember watching it on sweet tv carts like that.

also i remember my middle school AG teacher being a bitch, so i brought a walkman to school and provided score updates to other people in class.

I too fondly remember the days where my teacher would put the ACC tournament on and do nothing all class provided we were quiet

Quietest class ever

If we play Friday, I'll be there.

I'm going to try to go tomorrow night as well if I can get off work a little early.

^^LOL. My friend has moved away. There are like two guys in her office who like college basketball, and they think she's extraordinary for being a female who enjoys it. She's tried to explain the state of North Carolina to them, but they still get confused.

You watched it in school? During class?!?! Yes! And the NCAA if your teacher's team was still playing.

I remember watching the NCAA tourney in the library. Not in NC.

But when I lived in CA no one gave a fuck.

I'm interested in the fact that the intro video on the tourney page of TheACC.com is full of slow motion replays of 50/50 calls with coaches complaining about them.

Makes sense, it's hard enough to get the carolina and duke people to show up on Thursday and Friday when their teams aren't involved anyway.

This is true. Nobody cares about college basketball in California. UCLA fans don't even care unless their team makes it to the Final Four, and even then, they don't really care unless they win. They only hang Championship banners.

Wake Forest fans have to be partially happy they're dominating ND, and mostly terrified that they might have another year with Bzzzzdelik.

Probably not the thread for it but at my high school in NC...

-Spanish 4 was completely unsupervised. 5 of us sat at table to the side while the Spanish 3 class did their class. We were given no assignments and didn't learn any Spanish that we didn't learn on our own. At the end of the year, the teacher came to the table and asked us what grade we thought we deserved.

-In the same class we watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame. In English. Because the teacher was busy with the Prom Planning committee.

-I played Magic: The Gathering in AP Biology because the teacher payed absolutely no mind to us because she was busy planning her wedding. Tests consisted of simply providing definitions of terms asked, *open book*. (side note: i did get a 4 on the AP bio test, no thanks to her)

-My AP English teacher told the entire class that none of us would get above a 2 and not in a motivational kind of way. She was constantly demeaning and critical. My wife (then girlfriend) and I both got 4s.

-I was there when they physically tore all the sex-ed pages out of the health books.

To be completely fair, my 7th grade education in NC was mainly responsible for skipping the 8th grade when I went to Aurora, CO the next year because their 8th grade was absolutely horrendous compared to middle-of-nowhere Franklin County middle school. So there are some great schools in this state, apparently.

Back to the ACC Tourney.

was it really suggested that dean smith could have taught steve jobs about innovation and organization?

what's with all the dean smith ball licking this year? the blue bloods need a distraction from their unpunished cheating being exposed?

VT has actually been playing better the past couple weeks. They played Duke pretty evenly for most of the game, and their freshman PG is starting to look pretty good. I would still rather play them than Miami. I just dont think it will be a cakewalk.

as far as college ball is concerned, I wanna face bad coaches as opposed to good ones unless the talent is just light years ahead

That said, Miami does have some injury concerns.
