ok, i don't even know what your "argument" is then. Are you arguing that's it's ridiculous that some people have a problem with gay people? I don't think anybody is arguing against that ITT (well, except maybe the people who are claiming he did this for attention.
2/18/2014 3:25:18 PM
all I did was comment on a post in which someone asked why it's an issue by saying it's ridiculousfor whatever reason you decided to pick up on it, and then ended up agreeing with my point about it being ridiculous
2/18/2014 3:58:53 PM
holy shit man, that's not what went down in this thread. this thread wasn't about it being "ridiculous" that some people have an issue with gay people. this thread was about how his coming-out will affect his draft status because some of his teammates, coaches, and managers might have an issue with it. and you argument was (i though) "his college teamates didn't have an issue, why would future teamates have an issue? that's ridiculous".but yes, I agree with you that it's ridiculous that people have an issue with gay people, i hope that's been apparent from the beginning. but it doesn't matter what i think. it's what his teamates and coaches and managers think.[Edited on February 18, 2014 at 4:13 PM. talk about projecting...
2/18/2014 4:11:27 PM
talk about completely missing the point of the thread

this thread has gone a few different directions and all I did was comment on each direction and after looking back at what I have posted....yeah. not seeing what you claim to be seeing

why do we allow bleacher report to be postedim not going to say that was the dumbest article i've ever read because i've read other articles on bleacher report but I closed the page when it listed a bunch of fucking terrible measureables then said his bench press, which was the least embarrassing, was the biggest problem
2/24/2014 5:57:55 PM
Are people still talking about this?

has anybody ever attempted to put him in Clowney's company?I'm not sure there are any other humans who are in Clowney's company
2/26/2014 12:37:01 PM
I think they were sayin his 40 time wasn't close to Clowney's. In fact, there were at least 14 defensive linemen who were faster than Sam. Several were within a tenth of second of Clowney. I think that's what they were referring to.
2/26/2014 12:46:22 PM
the writer didn't bring those others up, thoughI'm just pointing out that's an odd comparison because nobody has ever compared Sam to Clowney. a bit of unneeded shade.
2/26/2014 2:42:16 PM
oh cool, lets talk more about combine results and how overvalued they are by the media/fans.
2/26/2014 3:18:45 PM
that too
2/26/2014 3:41:38 PM
Apparently some NFLers aren't ok with the fact that he kissed a dudehttp://www.cnn.com/2014/05/12/us/michael-sam-nfl-kiss-reaction/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

If you're already going to have to bust your ass just to even make the team, what do you do? Have your own reality show, of coursehttp://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/15/teammate-has-concerns-about-michael-sams-reality-show/
5/15/2014 9:13:40 PM
He will get cut. How many over the top "I'm Gay" moments will he produce. Not one of the guys drafted that were at the draft, smeared cake on their girlfriend and sucked her tongue. This guy is setting gay people back.ESPN columnist Jason Whitlock, a supporter of Sam, recently
5/16/2014 9:14:09 AM
strike while the gay iron is hot. Dude is making bank on the fact that he is gay. Being gay is now the "cool" thing.
5/16/2014 1:31:52 PM
so the only thing stopping you from going gay is that you are anti-cool? you could just go gay anytime you want?
5/16/2014 1:36:29 PM
^^ how old are you? 12?
5/16/2014 1:37:45 PM
If that is what you got from what I said...then ok
5/16/2014 1:37:54 PM
I mean, he has somewhat of a point. The only reason he's getting a TV show is because he's gay.
5/16/2014 1:51:54 PM
if being gay is the new "cool", then why are people still afraid to come out of the closet?they not cool enough?
5/16/2014 1:58:06 PM
The only reason he's getting a tv show is he's gay. That's all I'm saying.
5/16/2014 1:59:54 PM
of course that's the only reason he's getting a show, that isn't up for debatehe's getting the show because he's an important social figure, not because gay is the new cool
5/16/2014 2:12:31 PM
ok dude
5/16/2014 2:20:06 PM
if being gay is the only reason he has a show, then why doesn't Jason Collins have a show?
5/16/2014 3:01:58 PM
because he's at the end of his career, and the drafting of an openly-gay athlete is a bigger deal than the end of a journeymans careerand football is way more popular than basketball in the US[Edited on May 16, 2014 at 3:14 PM. Reason : he still should have told the Rams before the draft, though]
5/16/2014 3:13:03 PM
I haven't kept up with the timeline, and I'm sure his agents were already shopping the idea, but I wonder if the show would've gotten the green light if he wasn't drafted
5/16/2014 3:16:35 PM
^^ so not just because he is gay, because of those other things
5/16/2014 3:36:09 PM
you're being a little too literal, guy
5/16/2014 3:42:33 PM
And the show has been put on hold.
5/17/2014 11:08:28 AM
Good. He's got the same right as any other loser to make money on garbage, but less reality TV is always a good thing.
5/17/2014 12:00:37 PM
Yeah, that was a terrible idea. If you say stuff about just wanting to be a football player and not wanting to be different from your teammates, etc. you can't then turn around and go out of your way to draw as much attention as possible to yourself. This wouldn't go over well with any rookie, but it's an especially terrible idea if your the first openly gay player in the NFL.

If you are blind to the fact that this guy is a walking gay publicity stunt, nothing I can do to help you. That celebration was fake, it was his audition for Oprah.[Edited on May 18, 2014 at 1:38 PM. Reason : .]
5/18/2014 1:37:42 PM
Publicity stunt? Nah. Enjoying his time in the spotlight/making money off his fame like every other high profile professional athlete? Sure.
5/18/2014 1:59:26 PM
you realize you basically just repeated him, right?
5/18/2014 3:22:15 PM
5/18/2014 3:24:12 PM
Is AJ McCarron's reality special cancelled?JUST WONDERING.
5/18/2014 3:43:55 PM
^^no need for me to defend what? Him getting paid or that he kissed his boyfriend? I don't see how either one of those things is distasteful. And I wouldn't call Sam kissing his boyfriend a publicity stunt. I mean, the Oprah thing? Yeah that's a publicity stunt, clearly. But him celebrating getting drafted...I dunno. I wouldn't call that a publicity stunt. But there's not point arguing that.[Edited on May 18, 2014 at 3:50 PM. Reason : L][Edited on May 18, 2014 at 3:50 PM. Reason : J]
5/18/2014 3:49:48 PM
I can't recall a single draft-day celebration that involved focusing on the drafted player solely to see him kiss his significant other. I also can't recall a single time that a player in the 7th round had a camera crew at his house. Then dude goes and gets a reality show? Yeah, it's all a publicity stunt. if you can't see that, then I don't know what else to say to you.]
5/18/2014 5:33:55 PM
those were ESPN's cameras, and ESPN had nothing to do with the documentary series
5/18/2014 5:47:16 PM
And name me the last time ESPN had cameras at a 7th-round draft pick's house during the draft... if he weren't gay, they wouldn't have been there.
5/18/2014 5:50:45 PM
and that isn't even up for debate
5/18/2014 5:51:13 PM
yeah...duh. That's the point. It's kind of a big deal to a lot of people that he was drafted. I mean, whether or not you agree with it, it was a somewhat historic moment.I don't understand what's not to get about that
5/18/2014 8:07:38 PM
aaronburro probably tweeted about him having two first names
