Yup. Disappointing. Heaven forbid they actually try to shrink that car a bit to a more appropriate size

agreed

I was thinking that weight was the biggest thing going in the Mustang's favor in terms of keeping up with the more powerful Camaros and Challengers. You'd think Ford would capitalize on that; especially considering the buzz around this being a "lightweight" Mustang for 2015.

maybe alumastang is 2016

They'll probably wait until it hits 4200 lbs and then drastically cut the weight to get back into the 39xx range.

press embargo ended today at 12pm. Here's a sad excerpt from Motor Trend's first drive:

But it's a really good car
9/17/2014 3:37:46 PM
Well that is what one R&T writer said. And here is what another said:"What was a revelation on the street disappoints on the track. The Mustang GT is soft and wallows. OK, good front-to-rear balance, I can convince the tail to wag and impressed how well the brakes held up, that’s been a Mustang weakness in the past, but in this group, I feel like I’m driving mom’s Taurus."Slower than before, and not exactly a cheap car anymore either

The mustang now weighs more than this dumptruck.

$32,995 for a base GT? Up to $45k loaded? WTF!?It's a mustang... -_-
9/18/2014 2:53:31 AM
Dude it's a new car you can option a focus over 30k now.Shits expensive.
9/18/2014 1:01:03 PM
A buddy of mine paid $55k for a loaded Explorer 2 years ago...I still make fun of him over that.
9/18/2014 1:51:04 PM
My sister in law is one of those morons that spend 65k on a non s 09 caymen 2 years ago but I think we told you that
9/18/2014 1:55:29 PM
You did, lol. At least it wasn't $100k
9/18/2014 1:58:48 PM
The new Mustang weighs more than my Crown Vic does. That's quite disheartening...
9/18/2014 6:34:50 PM
^^^, ^^^^ hahahaha^ That's the biggest problem, not the price. (That and the black boxes and fucking Ford Sync.)
9/18/2014 6:38:14 PM
Weighs more than my 8.2 liter galaxie lol
9/18/2014 6:51:37 PM
weighs just a tiny bit shy of my '66 half-ton Chevy pickup...long-bed and fleet-side (short beds would be lighter than the Mustang by a good bit).haha, it's within about 30 lbs of an E61 5-series wagon. Oink oink oink oink.
