Hope we don't get caught looking for forward to the UNC game.
10/23/2013 4:41:54 PM
Just curious, what would you all choose: W @ FSU and L vs UNC, or L @ FSU and W vs UNC?
10/23/2013 7:07:03 PM
W vs UNC
10/23/2013 7:11:25 PM
W vs UNC. In a year where a W vs FSU would actually give us a legitimate shot at the Atlantic division, I might reconsider my answer. But we aren't in the division hunt at all. So I'll take a UNC win this year.
10/23/2013 7:21:12 PM
You guys are pussies. W against them both.
10/23/2013 7:24:04 PM
L against FSU = expected. L against unc= embarrassing in any year. Give me the W against unc, as long as it's a blowout.
10/23/2013 7:28:24 PM
I'll take a loss every year vs FSU for the next 30 years if it means we beat UNC every year for the next 30 years.
10/23/2013 7:51:49 PM
^i wouldn't take that. My answer would vary year to year. Like I said, winning the division and playing in the ACCCG > beating UNC.
10/23/2013 7:59:49 PM
^^^^I was gonna say W against both and Roy Williams hangs himself after dog fighting scandal.[Edited on October 23, 2013 at 8:00 PM. Reason : Just because.]
10/23/2013 8:00:10 PM
^^Well, all I said was a loss to FSU. Most years, if our only ACC loss was FSU, we could/would be in the ACCCG.
10/23/2013 8:09:22 PM
^definitely true. I was thinking more generally. Sadly State isn't in danger of winning the division any time soon
10/23/2013 8:30:58 PM
years when it matters: i'd rather beat a ranked FSUyears when it doesn't (like this one): I'd rather beat UNC
10/23/2013 8:38:40 PM
So you'd rather beat UNC every year
10/23/2013 11:07:41 PM
I'll take a loss vs UNC for the next 30 years if it means we beat (insert any random top 10 team) for the next 30 years. I rather be relevant and getting national attention (and actually be good) than just beating some crap unc team. Anybody that disagrees is backwards and the obsessed red-headed step child state fan that UNC fans make fun of in the first place.[Edited on October 23, 2013 at 11:40 PM. Reason : beating fsu last year probably equated to glennon starting on sunday.]
10/23/2013 11:39:58 PM
I will be at this game. Looks like I am in for a smiting after being at the game for both the 2002 and 2006 wins over FSU

beating unc 30 times in a row means absolutely nothing outside of your office bragging rights. beating a top 10 team 30 seasons in a row means you were good enough to do that for 30 straight years. it means you now have football history and were relevant nationally for the entire lifetime of every player and most nfl players. it means you have a huge base of alumni in the pros and maybe even championships.
10/24/2013 12:55:39 AM
we already have a lot of players in the prosand if you lose to UNC every year, you're not gonna win a championshipif you lose a game in the ACC, whether it be to #3 Florida State or unranked UNC, you're never gonna win a national title, so it doesn't matteror you could be like Wake Forest, who won an ACC title! Only like 5-6 years ago! Are they a national powerhouse? of course not]
10/24/2013 1:02:44 AM
10/24/2013 1:05:13 AM
i'd rather beat UNC for 30 straight years than win 1 ACC title
10/24/2013 1:11:52 AM
10/24/2013 1:44:32 AM
^think he meant you could still win the acc losing 2 or 3 games.
10/24/2013 8:08:27 AM
personally, i'd find it funny if UNC would be our ONLY win a year for 30 years in a rowit'd make them so angry
10/24/2013 8:24:35 AM
LOL, that would be awesome.
10/24/2013 8:30:12 AM
10/24/2013 9:12:08 AM
it would happen occasionally thowhich is more than the 0 times we've finished first since they joined the conference

10/24/2013 9:38:54 AM
I wish my dog shit bars of gold too
10/24/2013 9:39:39 AM
That's not very nice to your dog.
10/24/2013 10:04:01 AM
I'm talking Kit Kat sized bars
10/24/2013 10:08:18 AM
Even still, that would wreak havoc on your dog's digestion system!
10/24/2013 10:12:35 AM

Dog fighting is just one of the many forms of adversity athletes face.

Ok, so I'm not saying we are going to win, but I am saying there are several factors that are in our favor. This match will go to FSU, if they play like they did against Clemson, no question about it. I don't think they'll play that well, but instead they'll play more like they did against Boston College. Here is why:- The way fans think about a game reflects a lot like how players are thinking. They may say one thing on tv, but they all think this is a different team because of Winston. They have complete faith in him, and believe that they can put at least 40 pts.- Their defence is prepared to face a poor-mediocre offence, and have a lot of faith in their offence. They don't have the pressure to put in a full effort since the offence can bail them, thus they expect to play a well enough game to win, but not to their full potential like against CU.- Our offence is completely different with Mitchell in, we saw it in those three drives. It runs faster, and the run option with QB helps our running game. FSU struggles with the run game, and our ability to keep the ball, helps us from Winston getting into the game, and our defence will get more rest.- FSU doesn't know this offence, and although it's similar to CU offence, the players and coaches will not be as prepared without the film.- State has nothing to lose but a lot to gain. On the other hand if FSU starts to struggle there is a lot more in the line than when they were playing @BC. The reminder of the upset they had from last year can creep in and cause fear and nervousness. This game will be won in an offensive effort with our defence following suit (unlike last year where the opposite is true), and if we are to win we will have to put in a game plan like the Chargers did against the Colts. Rivers knew when to run it, the game took too much time from Luck, thus he never got into the game and in synch, the surprise of a team being able to run better than expected made the Colts defence and coaches unprepared. We have to do something similar in their turfs, without the talent that the NFL team has and a prepared veteran QB. But if Mitchell is able to keep the ball, and open the running game, maybe we have a better chance than what ppl think. This all depends on how good Mitchell is, which is a big cloud of mystery, which makes our offence a big cloud of mystery, and all of what I said in doubt.

why i stuck it out to read that is beyond me
10/24/2013 6:52:02 PM
Shit. I have no hope at all for this game. But good on you man ^^
10/24/2013 6:56:25 PM
cloud of mystery.

fun read from the last time we lost to Clemson and FSU in the same season: http://espn.go.com/ncf/recap?id=293040052I can't picture this game in my head for some reason.
10/24/2013 7:45:35 PM
NC State shit kind of runs together, is that the year we lost to Clemson 13-14 on a 6 yard punt?
