The burgers I've had have all been good, really like the jalapeƱo show stopper and the hillbilly.I'll be adding some new fish species to the tank later next week when they come out of quarantine

Over rated and mediocre food. Kind of like a fancier cheesecake factory. I've been to the one in Southpark a few times and I can tell half the people don't know anything about food and are going there because everyone else does. And yeah way too much.

Lol not only is the food at cheesecake factory mediocre at best but it's a horrible company to work for. They treat their employees like shit and it's just a bad organization. Not to mention it's a big chain. You couldn't pay me to go to one.-I guess I meant when comparing it to the cheesecake factory was that it's also over hyped and mediocre food. There's always a line out the door of those boring yuppy people who don't know any better but to go to an uninspiring cultural-less corporate shit hole that finds itself to every shopping mall in America. not a fan of cheesecake factory at all. That is definitely an overpriced place trying to be fancy. I didn't get much of a "fancy" vibe from Cowfish though. If anything it seemed to be trying really hard to be hip and laid back instead of fancy.
7/25/2013 4:41:37 PM
Well depending on where you live hip and laid back IS the new fancy.
7/25/2013 4:45:45 PM
^^^AHA, I know. I haven't been to a Cheesecake Factory in a couple years and probably just a handful of times total in my life. But I still love it.You guys need to find a place in your heart for America. You should never be too good to pull over at a Chili's and get down on some skillet queso and a bunch of Big Mouth bites.
7/25/2013 4:50:01 PM
^^ gotcha. Not trying to argue over semantics, but "fancy" to me means more ornate or traditional or a little more prim and proper, so that's what threw me off. I understand what you mean though in terms of hip/chill being what's "in" versus fancy or faux fancy restaurants.
7/25/2013 4:54:04 PM
America to me is a melting pot of different cultures by different regions. I want to know that I can go to a new city and research and experience an entirely new and different set of restaurants. Any type of chain food establishment is pointless in my opinion because you can get it where ever you are. It's boring and not what America is to me. People who frequent chains especially for dinner are boring and simply don't have an imagination to think of anywhere better/local to go.
7/25/2013 4:54:30 PM
We are definitely in agreement. You're just kind of a dick. LOL
7/25/2013 4:57:11 PM
I always make a point to be a dick about local versus chain restaurants. I've been traveling the last 4 months for work and this argument always comes up among my co-workers as to where we should go to eat. We've got those types who like consistency and don't want to branch out and would be happy getting cheesecake factory 3 nights a week. I've been pretty good about convincing everyone to try new local places for every dinner. They never complain afterwards about the food. I guess they like that I do all the hard work finding the places.

I was in Manila for work a couple of years ago and our group went to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. WTF

^^I think occasionally enjoying the familiarity of Carrabba's or something is a perfectly fine way to be, especially on the road. You don't sound nice or fun. I mean, you're very close to some classist territory that doesn't need to be tread. And observations like this are generally uncool:
7/25/2013 5:36:40 PM
My concept is a sushi restaurant where the background music is always Wu-Tang.
7/25/2013 5:39:19 PM
AHA, I think it's probably been done though. The Asians successfully drafted Wu-Tang back in 2004.

white people constantly making Dave Chappelle jokes even in 2013. this iswhy he doesn't have a show anymore. and neodata686 knows the deal and he's not even trying to troll.

7/25/2013 6:14:53 PM
AHA, I hate this place so much.
7/25/2013 6:50:33 PM
It's the interwebs. We're supposed to argue about dumb things right?
7/25/2013 6:55:51 PM
I don't think we're arguing. What you're saying probably reflects the sentiments of the vast majority of this site's users. I mean, I've shared your opinion since I was a child, but I don't go around saying it because it's uppity and even mean. If somebody loooves the Cheesecake Factory, it's usually because they're financially limited. They can't afford to try new places all the time. And it's just not worth it to me...to possibly put someone else down just so I can let the world know that I'm cool and have good tastes.I always joke about trying to be sophisticated, but it's not really a joke. It is something I aspire unsuccessfully to be, and part of that means being open-minded and kind to others...even if they wanna split some spin dip and eat overcooked burgers before we hit up Grown Ups 2.

7/25/2013 7:29:44 PM
It's not cheap. But you know...it's like the nice place that people pick when they get to go out once a month or on Sundays after church. Otherwise, they eat fast food.
7/25/2013 7:58:17 PM
The after church crowd is the same demographic as the lottery ticket crowd.

Went here today around 2pm and the entire group got our meals for free because our waitress kept bringing us the wrong checks and then just stopped coming by.
2/15/2014 7:30:12 PM
the new one in orlando should be coming along.
2/15/2014 7:42:23 PM
Funny this was brought to the top...We went there tonight for the first time. Got there around 4PM.. They sat us on the "patio", and even though it was enclosed, some of the wind was getting through the plastic and it was probably 60 degrees. The waitress asked if we felt cold and we said yes, so she turned on the heaters on the ceiling. Meanwhile, the couple behind us were being absolutely ridiculous about it. The waitress had already fixed the issue and turned on the heaters, but the couple kept going on and on about it...As for the food, we got the crab dip for appetizer and then split the "Mark's Roll" and the "Neon Dion Roll"Really good and filling!

I think Cheesecake Factory is great and always have a good experience there. I would not say that I'm strapped for cash, but enjoy the huge menu and consistency. If you haven't tried their Crispy Chicken Costelleta, you are missing out. Always a fan and alway enjoy it. Furthermore, it is not "fancy". I choose not to wear a t-shirt, but it isn't Sullivan's or Flemings. For the most part, it is nice casual. I eat there every ~6 weeks and have never been disappointed. With that said, I also enjoy eating local. There are ups and downs with all options. As for Cowfish, I had a bento box there twice and it was good. It is on the pricey side for sushi (as I always go around lunch time), but then again, you are paying for image and location. Personally, I don't see what everyone loves about it - it is good food, but the envionrment is "meh". Perhaps I'm just getting old and the simple thrills don't impress me any more.
2/15/2014 8:46:22 PM
I agree, it is a little on the expensive side for what you get...but all of North Hills is that way.. And the atmosphere reminded me of Pei Wei. I was expecting a little different since I had never seen pictures but just heard about it.
2/15/2014 9:02:10 PM
I like Cowfish but I don't love it. I think the burgers are okay, but not amazing. I feel the same about the sushi and fusion dishes. It's a unique experience but it's not the best food for your buck.
2/16/2014 10:34:24 AM
I thought the food was fine to good, but I find the space pretentious and the menu overwhelming. It's like having to go to a mall and it stresses me out but that's why I have anxiety medication.
2/16/2014 10:42:26 AM
Unless it has changed since I moved away the sashimi pieces are larger than average for a sushi place. They don't seem to be going for the "Cheap sushi" that you can find at a bogo restaurant but for lunch to be full I can do it for 20-25 bucks. Cheaper if I tried. Neo I understand that you like to experience new things as you travel but there is something about consistency that is comforting to some people which is why chain restaurants exist.
