oh yea oh yea 2nd half of the season and already 15 games over .500.thats like the opposite of last year at this time though. hopefully no reverse jinx[Edited on July 8, 2013 at 9:08 PM. Reason : hair]
7/8/2013 9:08:06 PM
great win on the road last nightkeep 'em coming
7/9/2013 12:08:04 PM
Beating all 'dem NL central teams. Are we good yet?
7/9/2013 11:55:27 PM
We've been winning some nailbiters against the Pirates.
7/10/2013 12:26:37 PM
sonny gray sighting last night... and wtf ever happened to our best SP / Bret Anderson?
7/11/2013 9:12:44 AM
He gets hurt about every two starts and has to miss a month or two each time.
7/11/2013 4:00:12 PM
GREAT win against Boston today. 56 wins before the All-Star break ties the mark set by the 71,72, and 73 A's for most wins
7/14/2013 9:06:28 PM
^no jinx. talk about making every hit count yesterday
7/15/2013 8:04:23 AM
7/15/2013 9:41:14 PM
at least oakland will win something this year
7/15/2013 10:56:21 PM
CESPY!
7/15/2013 11:13:45 PM
Even though the A's probably won't have an impact on the all star game at least Cespedes made sure we were part of the festivities!
7/16/2013 12:29:04 PM
A's have pretty much been consistent for almost a year now, but I still can't get comfy that we're a playoff team just yet:http://www.baseballprospectus.com/odds/the adjusted odds probably best represent my feeling. I really think the Angels have better than 3%, they can easily go on a tear and its a completely different division
7/19/2013 9:32:25 AM
We have a VERY favorable schedule, all things considered. The only real way LAA could go on a tear is if the beat US. We play them 13 more times, 7 of them at home.
7/19/2013 12:29:34 PM
loss to the Astros, cancel season
7/24/2013 12:47:56 AM
Yeah, that sucks for Balfour. Very lucky to have won the series playing so sloppy, and could have easily got swept @HOU.I gotta tell ya, I don't feel all that comfy with just a 3 game lead in the ALWest. Weaver+Wilson are unhittable right now for LAA, TEX just loaded up with Garza, and SEA is on an 8 game win streak...Hopefully Anderson returns again to be dominant in September/October[Edited on July 24, 2013 at 5:38 PM. Reason : need more unhittable SPs]
7/24/2013 5:38:07 PM
Not to mention you will be losing colonThen again cruz will be gone for the rangers
7/24/2013 6:03:30 PM
doubt we will lose Colonthey'll appeal and drag it out as long as possibleand Seattle is getting buried by Cleveland right now3 games is nothing, but have some faith [Edited on July 24, 2013 at 6:24 PM. Reason : .]
7/24/2013 6:22:24 PM
Not sure which gives me more pleasure: the A's 5 game lead in their division and being 18 games over .500 OR the Giants already throwing in the towel and talking about trading away their talent. Tough call!
7/27/2013 9:53:57 PM
Sportsradio is saying there are rumors that melky cabrera, colon, a-rod will all be banned from baseball until the end of the 2014 seasonPeralta, cruz, and others will get 50 games
7/28/2013 2:50:47 PM
I know how badly you must be wishing it will happen, but I will wait until the official banhammer drops
7/28/2013 7:33:42 PM
Yea i really hope peralta gets suspended for 50 gamesGtfo
7/28/2013 7:44:27 PM
post that shit in the MLB thread instead?
7/28/2013 7:58:07 PM
7/28/2013 8:13:55 PM
annnnd the Giants lost. Again. All in all, a good day and weekend for A's fans
7/28/2013 8:22:46 PM
Not feeling Chavez after his last few outings... makes me wonder if Beane has any 4 team deals in the works to give us a boost after TEX loaded up Garza? Those two losses to TOR @ home were all like :face palm:
8/1/2013 5:50:12 PM
is right
8/1/2013 7:52:20 PM
wtf was Garza acting like a little bitch last night? I saw that he was screaming at our bench, but the ESPN coverage really says nothing:

http://blog.sfgate.com/athletics/2013/08/03/matt-garza-apparently-takes-shots-at-eric-and-kaycee-sogard/
8/4/2013 3:41:29 PM
this team is slumping away rapidly... talk about rapidly eroding a 6 game division lead!Looks like the Callaspo trade was a bust. He has cost us in game critical situations a few times now, and hasn't really performed any better than Rosales/et al. Maybe he is really just a mole sent over by LAA?
8/8/2013 10:45:53 AM
What a difference a week makes Not ready to hit the panic button quite yet, as the team is REALLY hard to beat when our hitting and pitching are firing on all cylinders, but this is NOT good
8/8/2013 11:16:08 AM
Speaking of less Callaspo and more Rosales:
8/8/2013 9:40:12 PM
well, the A's are up on TO 12-3. Looks like they mad
8/9/2013 9:16:45 PM
I take back what I said about Callaspo - he has hit two clutch doubles in the 8th inning over the past two games for us. Still not too impressed with him fielding though honestly...
8/12/2013 2:59:08 PM
Jed can't field either. And Texas is on fire. Going to have to get Anderson off the DL to come and take the spot behind Colon. Reddick had a nice weekend after his 0'fer.
8/12/2013 7:22:36 PM
yeah, TEX has the easiest schedule remaining of all AL playoff contenders. We have to beat them head-to-head (which we haven't really done yet) to repeat the division. Just like last year, it could go down to the wire!
8/12/2013 9:18:13 PM
Time to pile up some wins on the Lastros tonight
8/13/2013 4:42:51 PM
That was pretty painful to watch in person. The A's constructed a comeback, down 5 runs to the fucking Astros with a chance to win it in the bottom of the ninth. From our angle, Chris Young's 2 shot walk-off looked as legit as it gets. Of course, after they 'reviewed' it, they didn't even show the replay on the 1980s jumbotron Oh well, at least Texas lost tonight too
8/14/2013 2:28:20 AM
Not sure I like the looks of the Stros SP tonight... 1-0 with low ERA, probably hasn't been figured out by AL hitters just yet. The last thing we need is to tank a series to the Stros!
8/14/2013 8:01:24 AM
Chris Young is jinxed. Time to hit the panic button.
8/15/2013 2:08:52 AM
bad trade, Billy
8/15/2013 9:08:23 AM
2/3 against CLE and no we're .5 back behind TEXI have a feeling that the rollercoaster ride for the division title we saw last year is going to be even more intense this year...
8/18/2013 8:48:40 PM
^not so sure...We need TEX to beat themselves somehow, because their schedule isnt going to beat them:vs.HOU, @CHISOX, @SEA, vs.MINWhile we are shaping up to play:vs.SEA, @BAL, @DET, @TBI see them winning almost all of those games, while we struggle to win half. Thus, falling behind 4-5 games for the AL West. The only other way we catch up is to dominate them H2H...
8/19/2013 9:10:31 AM
We get TB at home actually, and they've got to play them on the road, but your concerns are valid. The biggest thing is that TEX gets it's final 7 at home against LAA and HOU, while we're on the road against SEA and LAA.I still think it's going to be close.
8/19/2013 11:36:38 AM
tonight we get to see if Sonny Gray really has the stuff to be our next Tim Hudson. And if he can improve on his 1.00 ERA YTD
8/20/2013 6:20:23 PM
Bay Area sports radio is on a collective suicide watch. These next four series could spell the death of many sportscasters in the area. Please to start winning. thnx
8/22/2013 8:05:23 PM
Sonny Gray got lit up like an Xmas tree today. It's a good thing TEX also dropped 2/3 this weekend, because otherwise we'd be in even bigger trouble.
8/25/2013 5:21:50 PM
Going to have to take 2/3 from Texas from here on out. Also two of the three in the AL East are legit to take both Wild Cards. A's have to focus on Texas and get Anderson healthy.
8/25/2013 8:02:35 PM
GREAT win today against the Tigers. Winning this series would be so huge...
