Yes sir..
6/7/2013 5:37:47 AM
White ball or pistol grip on the old Gal's shifter? I think the white ball would look better but the pistol grip is cool too because it wouldn't slip out of your hand so easy... Or .... "Because race car"
6/13/2013 5:07:20 AM
It's not a Mopar.Pistol grip would be sacrilege.White gumball is going in my Fairlane.
6/13/2013 6:54:35 AM
See that was my thought too but almost every 60s race car and most current nostalgia cars had a pistol grip or a t handle. I don't like t handles and I agree that I think the gunball is most appropriate (I may use a 4 speed one lol)But I am attracted to a modern hurst pistol grip. But yes a wooden old school one would be sacrilege for sure. Still pretty sure ill just go with the white ball.
6/13/2013 7:19:20 AM
lenco imo
6/13/2013 8:39:35 AM
^ trust me... it was considered... i actually drove a car with the "street version".... yeah not really streetable at all.

That T-bird is a beauty! Can't wait to see the Galaxy in nearly-complete form...Nearly complete because we're never completely happy with our rides. [Edited on June 17, 2013 at 1:26 PM. Reason : l]
6/17/2013 1:25:03 PM
thanks man!and "never complete" is yeah tell me about it.. i forgot to take many pics but she's all disks now too instead of drums... i still want to do heads and cams on the bird... i don't think dad ever fixed anything for unleaded gas and she's got a 46 year old flat tappet solid cam in it... sob has to be about round by now lol.[Edited on June 17, 2013 at 1:36 PM. 6/17/2013 1:33:15 PM
What set up did you do in the rear
6/17/2013 10:04:48 PM
The summit big bearing 9" ford disk brake kit. One of those integral e brake calipers... Kinda sucks wouldn't do it again.
6/17/2013 11:20:05 PM
Drove the bird about a hundred miles yesterday in the heat... So much i got sunburned and the car ran absolutely fine..Got hot at a couple stoplights but if i put her in neutral and reved it up a little she cooled back down. Do you think it's water flow or fan flow ? I'm thinking fan.
6/27/2013 10:26:45 AM
gonna put an electric fan on it?
6/27/2013 10:58:43 AM
I'd rather not I really wish I could put a smaller pulley in it and maybe a 7 blade fan ?I'm trying to keep the bird looking like it could have come this way stock ya know ?
6/27/2013 12:03:26 PM
I'd look at just increasing blade count, that pulley change would probably be 'felt'
6/27/2013 12:12:55 PM
Blade count up and a flex fan so she flattens out some at rpm?
6/27/2013 1:16:09 PM
Lovely idea. Better than stock, and if you're really worried about appearances, you could paint said flex fan with some black bumper paint. For flex, ya know.I still prefer an electric fan/thermostat combo, with a good shroud. MUCH better than stock, no noise going down the road. What kinda condition is your radiator in?Original Y-block?
6/27/2013 1:34:16 PM
It was replaced in the 90s with a 4 core copper that was then hit with a bent fan blade and repaired it is the original y block rebuilt in the 90s. I was young when we did it but I don't rember dad having the block prepped in anyway, I'm sorta affraid the water jacket is covered in rust.Who's electric fan kit would you use ? I've heard some move tons of air in free air but can't draw shit trough a radiator.

some '63 galaxie porn i found to keep me going.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F4MukHK8UU
7/1/2013 10:53:21 AM
http://fab.com/sale/23392/product/425940/?ref=sale&pos=11You can probably buy a full size on in this type of condition for this type of money
7/1/2013 7:17:22 PM
Maybe that didn't translate well was that an insult or a joke ?I think my rods are worth more than something like that.
7/1/2013 7:38:33 PM
My bad, I didn't mean "you" as an "OP". I meant it as "an arbitrary person. This guy is selling artificially distressed cars for what some of these cars can be probably picked up from someone's backyard in the condition that he tries to simulate. And these things are sold out. Only in America. One of them was a galaxy like yours
7/1/2013 7:50:47 PM
Lol I didn't catch that damned thing costs 139.Yeah your right I mean mine ran and drove gray and I got it for 5500 lol
7/1/2013 10:38:19 PM
damn, it's still not quite clear from my previous post what i really meant, now that I re-read it. The cars in my link ar 1/24th size MODELS, artificially distressed to look like the real junkers.
7/2/2013 12:17:16 AM
Lol look its now a rat rod with classic patina.
7/2/2013 7:01:51 AM
My engines little sister (hydro cam with 30* less duration at .050 and .025" less lift and .05" smaller valves with a less aggressive port) just got dynoed... It made the hp I was hoping for at 6500rpm... At 5900 rpm.... Sweet....
8/6/2013 10:16:22 AM
Is that the 352 or 390 or whatever it was you had laying around?
8/6/2013 1:54:33 PM
Nahh it's an engine being built along side mine. 352 is still sitting around if interested.
8/6/2013 2:58:47 PM
ill trade you a 260 ford for itthen you can build a miata or some damn thing
8/7/2013 12:50:17 PM
Lol naahhI'm good :-).
8/7/2013 1:19:52 PM
Frame is paintedas is fire wall :-)
9/13/2013 6:41:28 PM
So I got a galaxie partially to get something different so I'm not driving just another old car. Since I purchased mine I've had 3 friends get them... Kinda makes me sad face.Granted mine is the only one with wings. I got mine (352 car) and started my build then a buddy got his (390 car) I think trying to 1 up some (not knowing I'd already ordered a 427 block) and now that they know I'm building a 427 the most recent guy picked up a 428 car thinking he now has the king dingaling engine (cause he's a dumbass and doesn't know that a base model 428 is just a truck engine). It's gonna be fun when I'm like 345 hp... Aww isn't that cute...I mean I'm not really upset cause my car is still going to be my favorite by a long shot.... But what the fuck ? Who wants a galaxie ? And now everyone does... I'm more disappointed that no one picked up something different and cool in its own right...
10/9/2013 2:29:41 PM
Like a Valiant...A Cuda in sheep's clothing.
10/9/2013 4:20:41 PM
Your sense of self is so strong
10/9/2013 7:21:11 PM
I love the valient. I'd totally get yours if I needed another car at all...
10/9/2013 9:31:12 PM
What I meant was I seriously doubt your friends would have scooped one up (Valiant). As far as large 60's cars go Galaxies are pretty common.
10/10/2013 1:02:35 PM
Yes and no... They are common but no one really restores them etc.
10/10/2013 4:34:31 PM
10/10/2013 4:43:08 PM

Stainless steel, ceramic coated or both for headers?
3/11/2014 8:46:29 AM
321SS or go home
3/11/2014 8:51:01 AM
Soo much moneys!! Lol but yeah it's nice stuffWhere would you get it from and do it in schedule 10 pipe?
3/11/2014 10:10:59 AM
turbo header? I would do sch10, if NA, just something like .065 wallno clue on vendor
3/11/2014 10:50:22 AM
Yeah I can't find shit for 321 elbows straight pipe all day but no elbows.1.5" or 2"
3/11/2014 11:06:45 AM
Found 321 shits like $80 for a 2" 16ga u bend and 16ga is the thickest stuff I can find.At this point I'm like hmmm inconel?
3/13/2014 7:50:10 AM
not worth it. I'd either go 16ga of any SS variety for NA, and sch10 for turbo. just so long as its not rusty
