well it spent a whole season 5 without don sleepign with anyone other than his wife an everyone bitched about it saying it just wasnt the same Donthe fans are the ones that are making it about Don's philandering, not the show.

for some reason, i totally missed this:
4/22/2013 2:25:37 PM
^I was a little confused by that at first, but there was a line about "mind if we join the lonely hearts?" when Peggy's group walked into the bar...that's what made me think that they both lost the pitch.
4/22/2013 3:30:09 PM
I wasn't confused at all, mainly because of the body language and "lonely hearts club" linebut I am super attentive during shows I absolutely adore
4/22/2013 4:48:32 PM
what threw me off was how happy peggy seemed to be. you could tell it was bothering ted. i guess she was just happy that SCDP didn't pull it off either. i am curious to see if stan actually cares at all or if there's any backlash about the secret getting out. on another note, harry got off easy with his shenanigans. joan slept her way into the partnership but it's a little arguable that she had earned it anyway just being there forever and constantly handling things for pretty much everybody at one point or another.
4/22/2013 5:46:33 PM
Is something off with Cosgrove?

^I can't really blame him for being a little pissy after his co-workers went behind his back and ended up costing him a decent client. Especially after he was under the impression that they had an agreement on what they were going to do.
4/27/2013 10:01:39 PM
Peggy stuck it to him badNow these guysIf Pete winds up working on Dow Kenny is gonna bounceI think Birdseye is gonna wind up being a huge account this season, it was hinted by Rogers daughter that refrigeration is starting to become a bigger deal and convenience foods; SCDP should buy in. Then the following episode the Birdseye account was mentioned briefly in the office but I can't recall the context nor do I recollect the company acquiring that account. I'm callin it, Birdseye frozen food is the new and improved Jaguar!

Man that awkward Joanie hug was a powerful portrayal of white guilt IMO.. cringe
4/28/2013 10:34:56 PM
4/28/2013 10:41:08 PM
"Everybody likes to go to the movies when they're sad."And yes there was a drastic different between Peggy's hug and Joan's. Yikes. But at the same time you have Peggy trying to save some money because of the riots, so blech...[Edited on April 29, 2013 at 9:30 AM. Reason : ]
4/29/2013 9:27:52 AM
^ I didn't take it that way so much as her real estate agent trying to use that to get a better deal for her client. Peggy seemed a little uncomfortable with it.
4/29/2013 11:39:15 AM
Totally. She didn't say no though. She could have said no. She clearly wanted to say no, but didn't.
4/29/2013 12:35:12 PM
backfired anyway, which apparently was a good thing since homeboy didn't even want to move out there. haha i thought it was sweet with how happy peggy got when he talked about their children.

I was extremely bored by this episode. You can center an episode around a major historical event and still have shit going on. Didn't happen here.
4/30/2013 5:02:06 PM
hot damn, great episode.love this show.
5/5/2013 11:04:14 PM
Does Don worry about those chompers when he's getting head?

Bet ya weren't "bored" with that episode!
5/6/2013 12:00:24 AM
holy hell, that was an insane episode...did not see that merger coming at all, i thought don was screwing with chaough and was going to outclass him at the presentations and land chevy himself. peggy was exactly right about don, his personality is such that he feels like he needs to be the one to decide what's best for everybody's life. this and the mlk episode last week are two of the best back-to-back episodes in the entire series. so good.poor peggy, don will not let her out from under his shadow. i'm unclear on how the merger will affect them going public, can anybody who knows about that stuff clear that up for me?who do you guys think ends up naming the camaro?
5/6/2013 2:13:24 AM
assuming it is the camaro (almost has to be right?)... the word is french for friend. it would be horribly cheesy if they use that connection though.
5/6/2013 8:19:37 AM
only small problem with the camaro is it debuted in 1966[Edited on May 6, 2013 at 8:49 AM. Reason : .]
5/6/2013 8:49:34 AM
Monte Carlo?
5/6/2013 9:55:50 AM
that would work, but it seemed the show was hinting at the camaro with the mustang referenceswouldn't be the first anachronismnvm--it's the vega:http://jalopnik.com/the-joke-behind-mad-mens-new-secret-chevy-account-493087484[Edited on May 6, 2013 at 10:06 AM. Reason : .]

I think it is the Camaro. I originally thought that Camaro came out in the early 60s but a quick google search shows it came out in 66/67. It doesn't entirely fit with the time frame but is close enough. I suppose Megan could name the car, given the word's French origins. Monte Carlo is timed better, but the Camaro was Chevy's answer to the Mustang.I think Pete's father in law played the shit out of him. He knew Pete was such a slimy, punk-nosed little bastard that Pete would have to tell Trudy that information about her dad and where Pete saw him. Once Pete did that it would finally dissolve Pete and Trudy's relationship. I did thoroughly enjoy the scene with Don and everyone freaking out because he ruined the business. It was good all around. Joan's "If I can deal..." comment, and especially since that entire scene is just another excellent illustration of how the world is no longer in awe of Don Draper. The merger is definitely interesting. I took Peggy's comment of "she just bought an apartment" to mean that she can't quit because now she is tied down.Good episode all around.
5/6/2013 10:09:54 AM
the show is currently in 1968, so the timing is off
5/6/2013 10:29:02 AM
they did a redesign of the camaro in 69 i think.though, yea it's the vega.
5/6/2013 10:51:37 AM
^1970
5/6/2013 11:07:13 AM
oh right, 69 was still 1st generation.. (though they did change the look a little didn't they?)the vega was a flop, though my guess is the show ends in 1970, and they don't figure that out yet, haha.
5/6/2013 11:20:00 AM
Or...gasp! It's a fictional car.
5/6/2013 11:37:23 AM
5/6/2013 12:07:46 PM
nice to see don get his balls back. He has been pretty blah all season with the exception of the jaguar bit before, but even that was passive aggressive rather than his usual style.
5/6/2013 12:34:27 PM
but at the time i was like "fuck yea stick it to Herb and that apple-in-a-pigs-mouth"it was a fuck up though.youre gonna take the check, bitch
5/6/2013 12:47:00 PM
I thought the girls were going to get in the bathroom and Herb's wife was going to say in French, "I minored in French and spent 2 years in Paris you dumb cunt."But alas...I gave her too much credit.
5/6/2013 12:59:23 PM
I do wonder what this bob benson thing is.
