But your point stands. Carroll, Lynch, the D, and, yes, Wilson all made mistakes. Wilson's incredible 2nd half was the only reason they were in position to win at the end.

Most rational people would agree that Peyton (if he stays healthy), Brady, Rodgers and Brees (in whatever order you choose) are the top-4 QBs in the NFL...so for starters, Russell isn't going to be a top-4 QB next year

I could easily see Russell, RG3 and Luck all regressing and having the same sophomore slumps that many QBs who had great rookie seasons have had once every team in the NFL actually has 16 games of film to study

Newton is on the Panthers, but you didn't hesitate to put Brees on the top list, even though the Saints were just as bad as the Panthers this year

And then you have guys like Big Ben, Eli, Ryan, Kaepernick, Romo, Freeman, Cutler, etc who could all have better seasons than RW/RG3/Luck next year

so basically, slow down

This thread is literally for people to just boast how great Russell Wilson is, and hard to crap on him after a great first year. I'd compare each of their stats this year to Cam's last year, so I could very well see all of them starting out slow next season just like Cam did this year. Are any of them top 5 QB's next year? Likely no. But could any of the 3 end up top 5 QB's in 3-4 years? Pretty realistic, esp if Manning and/or Brady were to retire. If I'm building a franchise and get to pick a QB to build around, Luck and Wilson are in my top 10 right now, but Cam is up there too.

I love RW. And will always pull for him regardless of who he's playing against.

But I think he did screw over State by wasting time playing baseball. And TOB made the right decision to treat him like everyone else on the FB team and require him to show up at spring practice.

Looking back, it was a mistake for him to play BB. He should have played his final year for NCSU and I blame him for that. But he's still my 2nd favorite NFL QB.

One day he and Rivers will meet in the SB and Raleigh will burn.

His lack of commitment to football was one reason he wasn't drafted higher than he was. It reduced his current contract and signing bonus. His foray into baseball hurt him much more than the $100k he pocketed.

Rivers is still #1 in my book due to him playing 4 years and leading us to our only double digit win season ever (a record that will never be broken unfortunately). Plus Rivers is putting together a borderline HOF career.

Almost same passing accuracy and field vision, but mobility is not even a close comparison. Both are amazing leaders. Rivers had a defense when he came through. Can't hold that against RW.
