I wonder how Florida and Arizona can justify keeping weed a felony since its now legal in two states.
11/8/2012 11:24:52 AM
I'd guess they see much more crime related to smuggling.

^^good onecant use logic and reason or else weed would be legal in every state alcohol and tobacco are[Edited on November 8, 2012 at 12:21 PM. Reason : a]

If all the old tobacco states like the Carolinas and KY legalized it, the economy would boom and state budgets would get fat on fatties.

Another benefit would be that cancer patients would have a pain medicine that does not make them hurl.

I still feel like this doesn't mean anything that two states got itif other states follow suit, there will still be a lot that don't - and it's highly unlikely that the conservative state that NC is will vote for itI also feel like it's unlikely the federal government will go for it either, but I could be (and hope I am) wrong
11/8/2012 5:25:11 PM
Its still a win for the people of the state, for all practical reasons you are not going to get arrested for simple possession or for having a couple of plants in your closet or a half burnt joint in your ashtray. The DEA/Feds is looking for large quantities, they are not going to waste time prosecuting some guy with a quarter bag.

well I've somewhat given up on weed, at least latelywould be stellar to be able to smoke a bong on the back porch without having to worry though I think I'm only going to take it back up semi-regularly if it gets legalizedI'm tired of having to think it's a real crime :3
11/8/2012 6:09:22 PM
So we were discussing this at work todaySo is it legal just to possess or to also grow? Ive seen a few comments on here that in WA you can only possess, but it sounds like in CO you can sell and possess. Anyone wanna clarify?
11/8/2012 6:23:22 PM
It is legal to posses a certain amount (weight or plants).Feds can still get you for possession or selling, but you have to use common sense and try to stay under the radar.

Most of the DA's across the state dropped all pending cases involving marijuana the day after this law passed even though there is no retroactive clause.VERY few companies in Washington drug test. Pretty much only minimum wage jobs and those involving heavy equipment, construction, and medical fields. Basically jobs where being high could cause injury to yourself or others. And yes a lot of people are up in arms over the nano gram DUID provision, but its all a bunch of bullshit. One of the primary reasons this law was passed was because of the endorsements of many police and sheriff departments, attorneys and other public safety workers. This will save the state almost 25million a year in enforcement costs allowing police and prosecutors to focus much more on violent crime and property crimes. It's really a win win for damn near everyone.

The republicans don't like this because the less people that are in jail and prison the less they can justify building jails and prisons and they think its bad for business.
11/17/2012 2:30:12 PM
hahaha "it's probably best to avoid any interstate high speed chases, just as a rule."
11/17/2012 2:42:32 PM
^Good thing Washington is one of the most liberal states in the US. And nearly every republican supported the bill because it makes fiscal sense.Legalization of Marijuana is not inconsistent with Republicanism, it is inconsistent with Evangelical fearmongering and Crony Capitalism.

Just a heads up: you're doing that thing where you take an uppity know-it-all tone for no reason at all.

I just got back from a business trip to Seattle (first time I've been there). I don't smoke pot much anymore... maybe once every 2 years. But I had to go check out the shops.I bought a cool little disposable e-joint called a JuJu Joint that had THC oil. It was awesome. $20 or something like that. It says it has 150 hits, but according to online reviews it's less than half of that. But it was so cool just to be able to walk outside the hotel and take a few hits and go back in. Technically, it's illegal to smoke in public, but as long as you're not being a fool no one will complain.I'd love to see this come to NC. I cut my alcohol consumption in half, which made the next morning a lot better.

It's hilarious how much of a part of daily life it is here now. It's also funny that same near every tourist and visitor does exactly what you did. Even my parents when they come to visit, want to drop by the weed store and get some edibles. I think next year a lot of states will cave after they see two full years of tax revenue and the consistently lower crime stats.

I don't keep up on these things, but we have 4 states where recreation use is legal, correct? To my knowledge: Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Colorado (and DC to some extent, although the federal presence seems to prevent outright "pot shops" from opening) have legal recreational marijuana laws on the books. Who is next? Cali? Anywhere in the north east? I think Ohio got close to passing a bill in 2015 but it was tied to certain real estate interests and state grow operations that caused some concern (even to the pro pot folks).

^several states in the northeast either have referendums in November or have legislation in the channels that seems to have a chances his year. I can't remember which is which, but VT, RI, NH, and maybe MA?[Edited on February 22, 2016 at 2:42 PM. Reason : Google says Nevada has a referendum in November too]

So I'm really curious about this stuff. I'd like to vape some oil... but I don't want one of those big ass vape things that you see people using for nicotine. Are the ones for THC different than the ones for nicotine?Coincidentally, my barber has some oil cartridges, so I'm looking to get a pen. I just have no clue which one is good.I don't want some gaudy, shiny vaporizer... I want something that's low profile and easy to use.

I don't have a lot of data here, but my buddy takes a cape pen with him when we go camping, and it is the same size as a cigarette but about 1/3 longer. It's great when we are hiking and nobody wants to carry a grinder, bowl, herb and a bowl/vaporizer.So they definitely make em.
