you can transfer your entry at package pickup, just have a scan of the original entrant's id and a signed note

Yes, all registration transfers must be processed at packet pickup. Both parties involved in the transfer must be present, or the person receiving the transfer can bring a copy of the registered participant’s photo identification and a signed note approving the transfer."

yeah, you can just crash the course and run it with her without paying, probably

but you wouldn't get an official time or donuts

How said is it that I am more worried about the running part? I know I can handle 12 donuts. But with my knee being funky right now, I haven't really ran more than 3 miles lately.

the run worries me too, but only because of the addition of the doughnuts.. the way back is uphill most of the way, so 2.5 miles with 12 doughnuts in my stomach could be a problem... ugh

Think of it as two 2.5 mile runs, with a 10-15 minute donut break in the middle.

the 2 separate runs part is a good way to look at it, unfortunately i am only worried about the last 2.5 miles with the doughnuts.

so if you're doing the race as a challenger, and i eat the 12 doughnuts, and i get sick and throw up on my way back, does that mean i'm not disqualified and don't get an official time? just wondering how that works, and how they monitor that.

your donuts count as eaten when you show them your emtpy box in the chute. After that it doesn't matter, you're down as have eaten your donuts.

My doughnut break's always last at least 15 minutes.

Doughnuts 1-3: two minutes
3-6:five minutes
6-9: ten minutes
10-11:ten minutes
12:eternity

And it's more like 3 miles, donuts, 2 miles.

Just checked my garmin data & its less than a 200 ft gain on the way back. not too hilly, you can do it.

Took me 16 and a half minutes to eat the doughnuts in 2012.

for anyone who hasn't done it before the donuts will absolutely take at LEAST 10 minutes. more like 15. or more. it's horrible.

i've decided against them completely

I have done it before. I completed the challenge last year in 54 minutes. I want to beat my time this year. I got caught up last year because I was trying to find my friends in the donut-eating craze. I don't know how long it took me to eat them, but I could have done it much faster if I had focused on eating.

I guess I really like donuts because I didn't think it was that bad...

Would anyone like to meet up and take a group picture beforehand? I'm not sure of the lay out but would the belltower be a good place to meet?
