Earl, you are a fucking moron.

Can goalielax and goodlife please stop being so insufferably superior to everyone. Damn. Neither of you know for certain that the only way the schools would have agreed to the higher fees is with ND joining. The fee was already raised to $20m not long ago iirc. So then the topic of this thread really is about whether ND joining the league by itself adds anything to the league, much less saves it, and that is debatable so stop acting like the rest of us just don't understand.

nothing really news worthy but in the press conference did the president of ND give thanks to Thorp while looking to the side as if he were there? yeah swofford let's take the chancellor of the school involved in a huge academic scandal to the press conference and show the nation just how great the ACC is
9/12/2012 3:48:20 PM
Has anyone stated, for a fact, how the Notre Dame scheduling would work? I can't imagine they get to play the their Bostn College/Pitt game every year, and the rest of us have to rotate through the remaining three spots. I would hope that the ACC requires a balanced approach to ND and ACC opponents.
9/12/2012 3:52:54 PM
Swofford said all ACC teams would play ND in a 3 year period. So I would assume its a full rotation between all the ACC teams.

Good. Just saw that as well. I think thats fair. One step at a time.

blah circumstantial accusations blah. Do you even remember what this thread is about? Lets talk about Notre Dame and the future of the ACC like I did in my post. Can we not be civil?
9/12/2012 4:37:03 PM
Everyone is talking about ND playing in a BCS bowl game. Why do we assume ND is good enough for a BCS bowl? Since 1998 (the start of the BCS) they have made 3 BCS bowls, the last of which was 2007.

9/12/2012 5:10:40 PM
another over-hyped perennial 8 win team? sounds like an acc team to me
9/12/2012 5:12:50 PM
^ True. Fits right in with FSU, Miami, and Clemson as teams living in the past. Also:

It's like getting to take a super hot girl out on a date but ....
9/12/2012 6:19:52 PM
it's more like taking a girl that was super hot in high school but has since let herself go on a date, hoping that everyone is impressed by the name and doesn't ask if she's still hot.oh and you still didn't get laid, which you would think she'd just be grateful for the opportunity at this point.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but ND coming to the ACC means that we probably are getting our basketball home and home with carolina back.

They have a really nice football stadium.
9/13/2012 3:11:13 PM
I could have sworn I heard on ESPN this morning that the ND/NBC contract ran out in 2013, but that they were currently in negotiations. Did I mishear or have they struck a deal to 2015 or something?
9/13/2012 4:17:35 PM
Didn't read this thread, but my gut reactions is to be pissed.ND fucking sucks and hasn't been relevant in like 20 years. Is anybody pleased with this?

They will immediately go back to suck-dom once they join the ACC. It's a rite of passage.
