do you know how insane it sounds that we could have 3 starting QB's and a #1 overall pick DE in the NFL despite never having a single good season with any of them?NC State defying all odds

^^ What are you talking about? Could everyone on this message board concentrate more on substance and less on trying to be funny?Anyway, I think Glennon easily could sneak into the first round just because teams get so enamored with QBs. The thing that will hurt him is how many new starting QB's there were this year... there aren't quite as many teams that are desperate for a QB this year and most teams who are will be drafting closer to the top.I could definitely see a team like Jax trading up into the first round to grab him. Also, I think the Joe Flacco comparison is a very good one.Teams who may be looking to add a QB:JaxKCArizonaPhillyDallasThen there are a few others out there like Oakland, TN, NYJ, etc who would perhaps consider grabbing one even though they already have a high priced starter[Edited on October 29, 2012 at 6:53 PM. Glennon has a PRO arm but zero mobility and struggles when the pocket collapses. I love him on the college level and as career NFL backup, but not as a franchise quarterback.
10/29/2012 6:52:51 PM
^ right, his mobility stinks and that's obviously become even more important the past few years in the NFL.The statue big arm QB's like Jeff George, Kerry Collins, Drew Bledsoe have all been phased out. The new school consists mostly of quick QB's like Luck/Rodgers, pocket masters like Brady/Manning, or runners like RGIII/Cam.That being said, ben roethlisberger, carson palmer, matt schaub, etc also continue to hold starting jobs.

That article is why Bucky Brooks got fired by the Panthers of all organizations.Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh - who once wrote up a scouting report on David Carr for the Raiders about how he'd be a huge scrub as a pro - is now coaching the 49ers

Stupid statement. Not one of those guys played together in their prime. The great QBs had shitty defenses and vice versa. The only argument that we should have had a great team was when we had the great defense that had several guys drafted in the top 5 rounds. Unfortunately they played with the worst collection of QBs in the history of NC State football. It's not like we had UNC's NFL talent plus an NFL QB (yeah yeah...Yates). That was way more underachieving than we've ever accomplished. This year could have been a great one if Manning had stayed. But our LBers have struggled (pre-season injuries didn't help) and for some odd reason, our vaunted secondary has had some shitty games/moments. I've been really disappointed in the DBs/safeties.[Edited on October 30, 2012 at 9:16 AM. Reason : .]

Not true. We had a terrific defense during rivers junior year, it was our offense that sucked.

I tried to look up 2002's stats. The only site I found said Rivers rushed for 10 TDsWat.

I STAND BY MY REMARKS MADE DURING THE SHITFEST THAT WAS THE FIRST HALF OF THE FSU GAME

J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets! I was bummed when the Jets picked up Tebow instead of going for Wilson. Maybe Glennon will be picked up by them instead. Sanchez and Tebow are both QB Fails. Hit the reset button and try again.
10/30/2012 1:14:10 PM
The Jets awful offensive line and Mike Glennon are a match made in hell. Glennon would die the first time Vince Wilfork fell on him. Honestly I don't even think Brady would do well with that talentless Jets offense.

LOL. Between Glennon and Staats, our athletes had some good Halloween costumes.

I don't think "taken out of context" means what you think it means. You also said that he can't help but suck, since he's a Glennon. You suck.

I hate all of you more than I hated marcus stone. And yes, glennon's play in the first half of the fsu game was worse than jay davis.

I am on a plane and bored so figured I'd post in this thread.I think with the success of the rookie qb's this year and the fact that there isn't many qb options coming out next year Glennon's stock is going to rise fast once the season is done and he hits the combine/workouts. I think when the year is all done his numbers will look pretty good despite not being what everyone thought they could have been so that won't hold him back. I agree with the mobility issues but I think he is going to kill it in the football IQ/maturity department. Not sure where he fits in exactly because so many teams have young QBs and will need to make the call if they are going to stick with what they have or move on, but I'm expecting him to be talked about quite a bit come draft time. Anyway, thanks for helping me kill 3 minutes.

did the plane take off?

I support this thread because Glennon is #4 in the nation in negative rushing yards and my brothers uncanny resemblance to him.[Edited on November 12, 2012 at 4:19 PM. Reason : ...]

bump for 2 amazing TD passes

Glennon is fucking bad-ass
11/17/2012 4:19:29 PM
This guy is a fucking boss and a lot of you idiots have done nothing but hate him for two years.
11/17/2012 11:56:10 PM
obviously Russell Wilson would've scored 70 points today and led us to victory
11/17/2012 11:57:02 PM
Gosh we're gonna suck next year...
11/18/2012 12:10:52 AM
he sure threw a lot of passes around people's ankles and knees today...
11/18/2012 12:12:25 AM
If Glennon was a worse QB TOB would be fired after next week's gameHe can't even lose properly
11/18/2012 12:13:17 AM
he showed flashes of brilliance today and other times just made awful, awful plays. had several balls thrown at people's feet while others sailed on him. He was lucky not to have 4 INTs this game.
11/18/2012 1:26:57 AM
he also had dropped touchdown passes and was unlucky to not have thrown for 500+ yards todaydrops also cost him a 500+ yard game versus UNC
11/18/2012 1:45:28 AM
He leads the ACC in attempts, completions, total yards, sacks, and interceptions, and is 2nd in TDs.

When Glennon is "on," he's as good as any QB in the country (ex: the Wake game, the 2nd half of the FSU game, the first half of the Carolina game). The problem is the streakiness. You never know when he'll be great and when he'll just be ok.Still, I think the guy is going to have a pretty good career in the NFL.
