All the bad feelings.
3/11/2012 3:19:16 PM
Committee isn't going to reevaluate based on today's results, so it doesn't matter that we beat St. Bonaventure. The last team just gets dropped.
3/11/2012 3:20:15 PM
RelaxWe're in
3/11/2012 3:21:20 PM
I hope you're right, but if there's any team that could seemingly play their way in only to get bumped for a team they beat basically at home earlier in the season it's NC State.
3/11/2012 3:22:32 PM
3/11/2012 3:31:47 PM
Watch us get totally Ass played and get stuck against like Wisconsin in a 5/12 matchup while the #5 seed in dukes bracket is usually school of the deaf and blind or a team missing their best player to injury
3/11/2012 3:42:16 PM
if we play wisconsin round 1 there is basically no reason to watchgoing to be a nasty fucking game.
3/11/2012 3:44:18 PM
12 seed it looks like, hoping its 11.
3/11/2012 3:44:19 PM
Play in game winner loses to Wisconsin.
3/11/2012 3:45:38 PM
11 or 12? I could see state getting a 8-9 seed
Nope we are definitely an 11-13 seed with 12 being most likely by a good margin
3/11/2012 3:48:30 PM
lol I wish, but we're out I can feel it in my bones
3/11/2012 3:51:44 PM
Your bones are Fucking stupid.
3/11/2012 3:55:21 PM
3/11/2012 3:58:06 PM
Oh sorry didn't mean to imply we are definitely in. We could definitely still miss, those seeds were assuming we get in.The 12 seed isn't a horrible place to be it gives us two winnable games to reach the sweet 16. The 11 or 10 can face a much stronger team in round 2. And really who cares about round of 32 vs losing first round. Id rather have a better chance of reaching the sweet 16 and get the extra week of hype and coverage and time to think about covering myself in baby oil and jumping into a sea of vinegar
3/11/2012 4:00:31 PM
We should definitely be in over Northwestern and Drexel. It would be pretty irrational to leave us out, yet the committee is not always rational.
3/11/2012 4:00:37 PM
One of these resume's is Drexel. The other is another donk mid-major no one is crying about. See if you can figure out which is which. And yes, they are tied in the RPI:
3/11/2012 4:03:25 PM
jerry palm with cbs has us as first team out
3/11/2012 4:03:40 PM
3/11/2012 4:03:45 PM
is this thing gonna be steaming online? link?
3/11/2012 4:04:44 PM
On a side note, I wish they'd get rid of this notion that the playins aren't all for the 16 seeds. 8 worst teams should have to play in, even if they automatically qualify and they should be playing for the 16 seed in every case.Automatic qualifying and the notion of "Last four in" should only be relevant for actually getting in and not the seeding. Sorry but if you won a shit 1 bid conference and you still are a 16 seed quality you should play the playin.
3/11/2012 4:05:13 PM
Drexel is the second one.
3/11/2012 4:05:18 PM
I definitely want to see us in the NCAA but I have a bad feeling about tonight.
3/11/2012 4:05:37 PM
^^^ The whole point of the at-large play-in games was to satisfy people complaining about their bubble being burst. Now they get to play against a bubble team to prove it
3/11/2012 4:06:41 PM
^ I get it, I just think its dumb.
3/11/2012 4:07:04 PM
And, really, I don't see why Seton Hall should be in over us either. The one Georgetown win? But then a losing conference record and still in the tournament? OK bro.
3/11/2012 4:08:18 PM
Mitchell: Meet the Tournament Selection CommitteeMar 11, 2012 2:42 p.m.We will hear about the "tournament committee" 800,000 times in the next week as we get ready for another NCAA tournament. Some teams will be very pleased with the "committee", while others will be very unhappy with the "committee". You've likely been ticked off by the selections, or seedings, so I am here to tell you who to be mad at this year if your team doesn't get its way.NCAA tournament Committee 101- The committee is made up of ten members.- You can only serve 5 years on the committee.- The committee is made up of Athletic Directors and Conference commissioners.- To avoid conflicts of interests, ADs must leave the room when his/her team is being discussed.Meet the 2012 Selection Committee:- Jeff Hathaway- Committee ChairJeff is the former AD at UCONN and Current Big East consultant. He is a Maryland native and graduated from Maryland.- Lynn HickeyLynn is only the second woman to ever serve on the committee. She is the AD at UT- San Antonio. She played college basketball at Ouachita Baptist and was on the US National team in 1973. She also coached at Kansas State- Mike BobinskiMike is the AD at Xavier. He played baseball at Notre Dame and also has ties to Akron and Navy.- Doug FullertonDoug Fullerton is the Commissioner of the Big Sky Conference. He was the former AD at Montana State. He is considered one of the more powerful commis's at that level.- Joe CastiglioneJoe is the AD at Oklahoma. He replaced former Big 12 Commissioner Dan Bebee on the committee.- Ron WellmanRon is the long time AD at Wake Forest. He graduated from Bowling Green where he played baseball.- Steve OrsiniSteve is the AD of SMU. For you UNC basketball fans, he hired Marr Doherty at SMU.- Scott BarnesScott is the AD at Utah State. He's worked mostly on the west coast with stops at University of Washington, San Diego and Pacific to name a few.- Joe AllevaJoe is the AD at LSU. He arrived in Baton Rouge after a 10 year tenure at Duke.- Jamie ZaninovichJamie is the Commissioner of the West Coast Conference. He used to be the assistant AD at Stanford and also worked at Princeton. He graduated from Stanford.
3/11/2012 4:09:09 PM
Palm also has Northwestern in, which I don't think will happen unless the committee considers the sob story.
3/11/2012 4:10:00 PM
yeah I'm not a fan of play-in games. I think we deserve to be a 12 seed that avoids a play-in game, hope the committee agrees.I would have NW in too but I expect them to be left out. Taking the bracket here: http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htmI would leave out USF and Colorado St. and put in Oregon and Northwestern if I were the committee[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 4:13 PM. Reason : Oregon will not make it though][Edited on March 11, 2012 at 4:15 PM. Reason : I would leave So. Miss out too, have to put St. Bonaventure in]
3/11/2012 4:10:36 PM
no way oregon goes in over CSURPI: 27Strength of schedule: 5Nonconference SOS: 27Wins vs. RPI top 50: 3Wins vs. ranked teams: 3http://www.denverpost.com/colleges/ci_20148746/colorado-state-rams-make-case-ncaas-at-end
3/11/2012 4:16:00 PM
Huh, I'd go the exact opposite on USF/CSU and Oregon/NW
3/11/2012 4:16:37 PM
You guys are already scared of Wisconsin? Jesus
3/11/2012 4:17:30 PM
^^^you're right they won't, for those reasons, but RPI is garbage and I wouldn't use itI would put Oregon in because they look like they could make a run. They closed out the season 11-3 (and 9-0 against the spread!) before a 1-point loss to the champions in the tournament. It was against a crappy Pac 12 schedule, but they've been improving all year[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 4:26 PM. Reason : oregon]
3/11/2012 4:19:28 PM
^^Even following the game over gamecast would be scary...
3/11/2012 4:28:27 PM
Gottfried on ESPN right now
3/11/2012 4:34:28 PM
lol even his phone is a victim of NC State shit
3/11/2012 4:35:51 PM
ahahahWell, the thing about having a 2-9 record against the top 50 is, uh, *click*
3/11/2012 4:35:53 PM
aaand they lose him
3/11/2012 4:35:56 PM
that was awesomefuck your question *click*
3/11/2012 4:37:24 PM
Well its obviously unfair that one team gets to play Louisville while another gets stuck with Wisconsin as if those teams are similar in strength.
3/11/2012 4:41:20 PM
Gottlieb is a douche but it seems like ESPN more or less has our back.
3/11/2012 4:41:45 PM
i can't wait to see this thread and packpride epic meltdown...i think we should be in, but i believe some "nc state shit" is coming...
3/11/2012 4:45:11 PM
Shouldn't ESPN <3 us cuz of the gottfather?
3/11/2012 4:46:14 PM
lunardi has been too adamant about us being in the last couple days for him to pull one of his last second bait and switches on us once he gets last minute info...i hope
3/11/2012 4:46:33 PM
expect the worst nc state shit, hope for the best
3/11/2012 4:46:35 PM
Lol if we actually get the death trap projected Espn bracket we should file a lawsuit against the ncaa.Wisconsin as the 4 and fucking witchita as the 5?! Why not just give us Syracuse in the playin game for gods sake if they are that hellbent on sending us home. I realize we have to prop a bad duke team up with a 2 or 3 seed and that Michigan has to get a good seed because they were relevant 20 years ago but Jesus.
3/11/2012 4:54:58 PM
Does it really matter who we play, Martin? We're not a good team anyway.
3/11/2012 4:57:26 PM
3/11/2012 5:00:14 PM
3/11/2012 5:03:24 PM
Perhaps I missed this, but how come Colorado isn't relegated to playing in Dayton?
