first hulk was better....Flame away

Glad someone agrees with me on Captain America. I almost fell asleep during that movie. Really disappointing movie.
4/27/2012 12:53:56 PM
i just really hate the costume
4/27/2012 1:06:52 PM
^ Agree. When I saw the first sketches of it, I thought it would be cool, but it just looks out of place. Not really sure how they could pull off Cap without some sort of costume, but they seemed to do so with Hawkeye...
4/27/2012 2:57:32 PM
I liked Captain America.
4/27/2012 3:15:37 PM
as did I. I also realized I never watched Thor. Guess I have something to do this weekend.
4/27/2012 3:17:43 PM
SPOILER: FUCK YES THANOS
4/27/2012 3:25:54 PM
I'll be at the midnight showing at the imax
4/27/2012 3:59:47 PM
I may have missed something or I no longer remember. I assume they explain how Thor is able to get back to earth... or is this a Thor reboot?
4/27/2012 5:31:24 PM
I, too, assume that
4/27/2012 5:33:15 PM
i liked captain america okay. i really liked thor. i really liked the iron man movies too. i haven't seen any of the hulk ones; they just never seemed very interesting for some reason.
4/27/2012 6:45:53 PM
Only the most recent hulk counts. Ang lee's incredible sulk isn't in the same setting.
4/28/2012 1:57:28 AM
4/28/2012 2:59:27 AM
4/28/2012 9:39:38 AM
it wasn't spectacular or anything, but i don't think it was a steaming pile of shit either. i thought the comic book-style multiscene shots were a cool touch
4/28/2012 9:41:49 AM
So should I watch Capt America and Thor before this movie?
4/29/2012 9:49:40 PM
thor definitely, capt america....mehplus the main villain from thor appears to be the main villain in the avengers, so you'll probably want the backstory there[Edited on April 29, 2012 at 9:54 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2012 9:53:47 PM
Thor was a great movie, but was brought significantly downward by the suck-ass acting done by the 2 girls and dude from earth. Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins were pretty badass in it.
4/29/2012 10:10:00 PM
I believe the cosmic cube/tesseract/whatever from Cap plays a significant part too[Edited on April 29, 2012 at 11:02 PM. Reason : they're all pretty interconnected]
4/29/2012 11:02:29 PM
Watch Thor first then Captain America. The small details will make more sense.
4/30/2012 12:10:50 AM
Maybe so... but having watched Cap. Amer. at least gave you a clue as to what the cube was in that case that Nick Fury showed the guy after the credits roll in Thor.
4/30/2012 10:00:23 AM
Is there a group of T-Dubbers going?
4/30/2012 1:44:56 PM
Saw the movie last night at an advanced screening. It was very very cool. I went in with low expectations and was very impressed.
5/1/2012 8:38:52 PM
i really wish i could go back in time and show all the current marvel movies to my 10 year old former self. my head would explode.also, super pumped about this.
5/2/2012 10:48:32 AM
Um... That was incredible
5/4/2012 2:27:42 AM
I had very high expectations for this movie, and it completely delivered. It was hysterical in parts and the hulk may be my favorite super hero of all time.
5/4/2012 2:58:22 AM
fantastic, exciting, hilarious, awesome time. One thing I can say is that I am very glad Ed Norton didnt come back as the Hulk
5/4/2012 3:03:55 AM
i enjoyed ed norton's hulk ... but i think mark ruffalo did an amazing job. he's much more the human bruce banner i think of whne i think of the hulk
5/4/2012 3:13:01 AM
lol @ Iron Man calling Hawkeye "Legolas" and the scene after the credits when they were eating the shawarma. One thing I disliked: anytime anything cool happened the people in the auditorium would start cheering and clapping and I missed a few one liners.Fun movie though. I would have liked more explanation on how Thor got back to Earth... I haven't seen his movie in a year but I thought at the end Odin said something along the lines of him never being able to return.
5/4/2012 4:20:42 AM
^loki said he'd never be able to returnloki said in this movie that odin had to use "dark energy" to send thor to earth.and SPOILERcompletely missed the line after the Hulk brained Loki about "god" no clue what he said. Funniest part : Hulk punching thor after the leviathan fight.]
5/4/2012 5:22:15 AM
Really enjoyed it. Much funnier overall than I imagined. And I was legitimately surprised. Went in assuming Iron Man would be my favorite part of the whole movie, but Hulk kinda stole the show for the last quarter of the movie.
5/4/2012 7:57:06 AM
^^ he said, "puny god"
5/4/2012 8:46:18 AM
Ok ill put ***SPOILERS*** here; but if you've not seen the movie, you shouldn't be reading the thread. One issue I had was that Loki was wanting to have Hulk unleashed on the group. But then, without addressing it, at the end Banor was able to control the Hulk all of a sudden. Did I miss something or did they gloss over that? Also; was it ever explained beyond 'magical staff' how Loki was influencing the hulk on the ship? That whole scene was weird.By FAR the best scene was hulk pounding Loki. The thor punch was funny too but i was gufawing at the loki scene. They got a great actor to play Loki.I also wanted to mention, as much as I disliked Captain America, Chris Evans fits very well as Captain and I enjoyed the character in this movie.[Edited on May 4, 2012 at 10:15 AM. Reason : *]
5/4/2012 10:07:25 AM
They pseudo-explained it when Hulk fell out of the ship and hit the abandoned warehouse. I read it as Banner coming to realize that he does exert some amount of influence over "the other guy" when the janitor tells him that Hulk consciously avoided harming anyone when he crash landed. So from this he seems to decide that Hulk can be cut a little slack and that maybe Tony was right. It's incredibly vague, but they can't spend 20 minutes on it in a film with 6 lead characters.
5/4/2012 11:44:45 AM
5/4/2012 12:18:34 PM
Greatest. Comic book. Movie. EVER. Will go see at least 3-4 more times. I was absolutely giddy with the reveal after the first part of the credits.
5/4/2012 12:33:15 PM
5/4/2012 1:37:56 PM
That's exactly what it is. **SPOILERS**Remember when he said "I'm always angry"? Well, just add that bit of info with the final scene in The Inc. Hulk and you can assume that he can go in and out of Hulk-mode anytime he wants. But like Wraith said, when he gets mad he actually loses control. When he landed on the building without killing anyone he realized even when he loses control that Bruce Banner is still in there somewhere.[Edited on May 4, 2012 at 1:44 PM. Reason : funfunfun]
5/4/2012 1:44:00 PM
^ I did like how they even hinted that he is always angry with the very first scene between him and blackwidow when he freaks out on her for a moment.
5/4/2012 1:51:35 PM
***SPOILERS***So was it just me or did anyone else think that it was Red Skull talking to Thanos at the end credits?
5/4/2012 2:10:09 PM
It was the same guy that Loki was dealing with all movie I thought.
5/4/2012 2:12:47 PM
Well in the comics Banner had and subsequently lost control over Hulk all the time, especially in the earlier comics. There was always a reason though, however stupid.
5/4/2012 2:15:50 PM
^^Pretty sure it was.I'm pretty pleased to see that Thanos is being brought into Marvel's movie world. If only they hadn't fucked up the silver surfer and Galactus so badly they could have had something really cool to work with when they decide to make him their next main baddy.
5/4/2012 2:22:08 PM
Loki was a Much more convincing bad guy in this movie than in Thor to me. he really did well.
5/4/2012 3:59:41 PM
^^Agreed, if the dude Loki had been talking had turned out to be the Silver Surfer and they revealed Galactus at the end I think people would have lost their shit in the auditorium.Question though... why did Thor not have his winged helmet on once in the movie? Even in the Thor movie he only very briefly wore it. I think he looks a lot more badass when he has it on.
5/4/2012 4:18:04 PM
So all the women could stare at him better. Pure marketing move.
5/4/2012 4:33:00 PM
movie was so much win. just got home from seeing it and i want to see it again right now. fucking love joss whedon. he nailed all the characters IMO.think he'll do the next one too?
5/4/2012 4:38:50 PM
^^ my thoughts exactly. gotta get that golden mane some screen time.
5/4/2012 4:41:45 PM
FUCKING....AWESOME.Hulk definitely stole the show. Also make sure you stay til the END of the credits. Half the people in my theater left as soon as the credits started, then most of the others left after the mid-credits scene.
