but Jacob James Olmos has a website and everything, with his picture on it even
10/28/2011 4:11:01 PM
ok so I think Olmos is real after this episode....RIP Sam
10/30/2011 9:54:53 PM
if you watch the preview for next week he looks pretty not dead
10/31/2011 1:50:21 AM
I never watch those but I saw enough in last night's anyways
10/31/2011 6:31:50 AM
Still thinking he's dead. Especially given some of the personal backgroud that we got on this guy from the chick Quinn boned.Likely that Travis (Hanks) was kind of a religious nut to begin with and found Gellar's website and got all into his teachings. Stalked Gellar and found out that he was mostly a sham, and killed him...then went all Psycho a'la Norman Bates.
10/31/2011 8:08:26 AM
^sounds about right.
10/31/2011 9:35:45 AM
he called him on the phone though. don't know what to make of that.
10/31/2011 11:09:02 AM
Doesn't prove much, really. Just 'cause Hanks' convinced himself he's talking with Olmos doesn't mean he's actually just talking into the phone with nothing on the other line.
10/31/2011 11:50:10 AM
The scene in the nightclub with the dude's face plastered page one on the newspaper made him seem more dead than ever to me, coupled with his history of philandering with his TAs which would seem to clash with the "man of ideals" that leads Travis.
10/31/2011 12:28:47 PM
^ yeah, the whole sleeping with his T.A.s thing doesn't really make him seem too righteous. It does, however, go along with what Exiled about Travis wanting to meet him and then learning that he was a sham. The Gellar he "talks" to seems like maybe what Travis wanted Gellar to be like.that stuff, plus some of the dialogue and the way Travis leans on gellar to be his strong hand (to do what he can't as far as killing and kidnapping) is pretty typical for the "imaginary friend" story-line. So i'm still thinking he's imagining Gellar, maybe even more so now.
10/31/2011 8:34:55 PM
In my mind they don't seem to be too subtle, in the very beginning of that episode, Olmos says "you still can't hear him" to which Travis reply's "I've been fasting and praying for days, and all I can hear is the sound of my own voice banging around in my head" to me it seems that either Olmos is in Travis's head, or they really want us to think he is.
10/31/2011 9:27:17 PM
I noticed at the beginning when Travis and Gellar are talking, Travis notices blood on the side of Gellar's head, but when he did double-take, it was gone. Seems like it makes a pretty good case for the whole "Gellar isn't real" thing.
11/1/2011 12:26:32 AM
Olmos was drinking a cup of coffee in the last episode. In an episode before him and Travis were at a restaurant and Travis was eating, but Olmos didn't even have a place setting - leading you to think he really wasn't there. Then Sunday night he was drinking a cup of coffee at the cafe.....obviously that still could all be imagined by Travis....just an observation.
11/1/2011 9:04:30 AM
^^ Yea, I noticed that as well. I didn't really understand the meaning of it, other than to help show he was imagined.
11/1/2011 10:00:09 AM
I think you guys have been watching entirely too much Fight Club, I just don't see the whole "imaginary Gellar" idea.Is it just me, or does is seem like there's a lot from the movie Red Dragon in this season? The Tooth Fairy, the museum artifacts, the tattoos, the being driven by voices in your head, etc.
11/1/2011 1:24:31 PM
the blood on Gellar's head could be a flashback to when Travis might've killed himUntil Gellar interacts with another character, I'll continue to think he's dead
11/1/2011 2:24:51 PM
Something interesting needs to happen. This is a lot of the same old same old
11/1/2011 11:21:54 PM
^Holy shit....ask and you shall receive. Next week's teaser looks EPIC! Things sure got interesting!
11/6/2011 9:56:30 PM
drunk Quinn brought some lol's

11/7/2011 12:37:55 AM
has Dexter ever encountered a security system in the houses he breaks into? it's starting to bug me, and i can't recall that ever happening.
11/7/2011 1:42:37 PM
^ I'm sure they're not they're generally not that hard for him to identify or disable. But then again, if you're after reality you might wanna watch Shameless or something...not a show about a police department serial killer who kills other serial killers.]
11/7/2011 1:53:14 PM
sometimes he's just a little bold with his break-ins. the premise of the show is far-fetched, but his character is extremely meticulous and careful. that's all i was trying to say.
11/7/2011 2:46:48 PM
damn this season took an unexpected turn
11/7/2011 4:04:55 PM
Hope they stick with Brian taking over for Harry for a few episodes, 'cause fuck all now I'm hooked!
11/7/2011 4:06:08 PM
you mean Rudy?
11/7/2011 4:08:20 PM
same difference. Brian (Biney) was his real name...called himself Rudy while with Deb though.
11/7/2011 4:14:27 PM
I think dr. gelled is an hallucination/imaginary friend of Travis. He's probably stuffed in a closet somewhere
11/7/2011 8:50:06 PM
fresh take brah
11/7/2011 8:57:53 PM
^^have you read any of this thread?
11/7/2011 9:03:54 PM
Dr. Scholls gelled insoles
11/7/2011 11:52:18 PM
Just wanted to get this off my chest, but it bugs me that Dexter hasn't mentioned anything more about the incident where he drops his slides. As meticulous and careful a killer as he is you'd think something like that happening would fuck with him on so many levels.Looking back a bit on previous episodes, they definitely set us up for the return of Brian/Rudy/Ice Truck Killer. Can't wait for next week and the "return" of Trinity.
11/8/2011 7:40:57 AM
^ yeah I was surprised about the lack of effect dropping the slides had on him. Once he dropped it and made the comment about not knowing the order or who they belonged to, I thought that was going to lead to some dramatic shift in his behavior/target selection process. Maybe have an impact on his "code" or what not, but doesn't seem to have bothered him.As a matter of fact didn't he reference Nick not going in his box of slides during the last show? Is he just starting a new collection, did he dispose of the broken ones or what?
11/8/2011 8:33:37 AM
This isn't the first time Dexter lost his trophy slides (Doakes? anyone?) so its just a moment in time of just him saying "shit..."; similar to dropping a laptop by accident. Also, what about the intern girl and the fake hand? did Masuka get it back? was that ever exposed?
11/8/2011 8:55:42 AM
^ Never got it back, girl had to turn the arm over to the online auction people before she could even put it up for auction. Was sold and they had no way of getting it back. The new intern guy supposedly wiped any trace of the arm off the internet. Speaking of which, does anyone see anything coming up with the new interns interest in Dexter (supposedly for his video game)? Seems like he may start trying to get to know Dexter and maybe catching wind of what Dexter does.
11/8/2011 9:01:29 AM
I saw some significance w/ the computer nerd new intern oohing and aaahing over Dexterhad an off-the-wall thought that he could be connected with doomsday somehow but quickly dismissed the idea bc it was stupid lol
11/8/2011 9:30:23 AM
I considered that he might be the guy that bought the ITK hand
11/8/2011 9:34:40 AM
i like the idea that since he's demonstrated his computer hacking skills he might log into Dexter's computer and see his database search history, etc
11/8/2011 9:36:46 AM
wait... I thought Masuka won the bid at the last second?[Edited on November 8, 2011 at 9:54 AM. Reason : ]
11/8/2011 9:54:12 AM
^No he tried to buy it last second, but it expired before he finished his bid.
11/8/2011 10:09:33 AM
ah, maybe I should have watched episode 5 before I asked those questions. I do like the whole "partner card" dialog between Quinn and Batista. Was pretty damn good acting and quite comical, yet serious.
11/8/2011 11:58:01 AM
I think Dexter will have his brother in his ear like Harry, but his brother will really play to his "dark passenger." Which really came out on the last episode. I can't think of another time when that sort of "emotion" was present when Dexter killed someone. He's usually really calm and detached.I suspect his brother will be in his thoughts for a bit and he'll sort of "overcome" it. Then maybe he'll realize that Hanks' has this sort of "darkness" that's pushing him and try to help him overcome it as well -- especially if Olmos isn't really there, but even if he is I could see it. I don't know, just a thought. It'd be a little different direction for the show. And he just had this experience where Sam seemed to understand him some and try to motivate him to not give in.edit: Thinking about that line of thought some more, I could really see that happening. Hanks' character has been portrayed as having this really nice side, but Olmos pushes him to do stuff he probably wouldn't do without that influence. And it's clear he's torn on the whole thing and relies on Olmos (real or fake) for the "strength" to do it.[Edited on November 9, 2011 at 8:06 PM. Reason : .]

Rudy is taking charge over Dexter and replacing Harry?Jonah has become a killer like his dad? This season just got good I have no idea where this season is going to end up now.
11/10/2011 12:11:35 AM
Jonah? Wha?
11/10/2011 12:58:18 AM
^ Trinity's son
11/10/2011 7:34:28 AM
For me the biggest clue that the old dude is in Hanks' head came in the last episode, when Hanks' sister mentioned that he was a great painter. Old dude is always painting.[Edited on November 10, 2011 at 8:16 AM. Reason : d]
11/10/2011 8:16:34 AM
^ That clicked for me too this episode. My prediction is that Rudy's influence on Dexter will resurrect the icetruck killer case but the missing hand from evidence will come back into play and lead the Police to pin Dexter's killing spree victims (assuming that's what happens during the next episode or two) to someone else (who may or may not be the new intern).[Edited on November 10, 2011 at 9:09 AM. ^^ I thought that same thing. I mean, it was solidified for me. What are the chances that they both want to start the apocalypse, are willing to murder and mutilate to do so, AND are both good artists.... right? But then I remembered there are drawings in the books that they found in Geller's box of stuff. And while they're not to the same level as the painting, they look like rough sketches in the sketchbooks of many fine artists. So, then I wasn't sure the "artist" thing was as solid of evidence as I initially thought. But I would't be surprised at all if we found out Hanks is the one painting (I mean, I expected it). And they could easily say the book is actually Hanks' and Gellar just had possession of it for some reason (Hanks presented it to him as his plan, Geller took it for some reason, etc.).[Edited on November 10, 2011 at 9:09 AM.
