i wonder if the lunch choices and portions are completely different than those at dinner?i may roll up there for lunch Friday.that bar downstairs, though --- for those earlier who said they "liked foundation, but it was too pricey" and are looking for something similar.... the cocktails downstairs are going to run around $10 per drink, fwiw.

I don't always frequent that side of downtown, but that place would be awesome after a show at the pour house

Just had the chicken and Mac and cheese. Really good, worth the $$. Cocktails are a ripoff for the price, though.
8/17/2011 2:10:26 PM
I kinda hate cocktail drinkers, really.
8/17/2011 2:12:15 PM
I like that places have fancy cocktails. People like them, they taste good, and their existence allows people to get stoned and come up with names for them. However, I have no desire to order one when whiskey and a beer will do just fine. ]
8/17/2011 2:14:21 PM
I drink cocktails at home and beer at bars/restaurants. That way you never get ripped off any more than you were expecting.
8/17/2011 2:14:34 PM
Aren't cocktails at Foundation like $25 dollars each?
8/17/2011 2:18:45 PM
I think that's just the down payment.
8/17/2011 2:20:26 PM
I like nice drinks and I don't mind paying for them, but you can't charge $9 for something that's half the size of something at Foundation and not quite as good. A child-sized B+ old fashioned is not worth $9. I'm not trying to get hammered at the chicken store, but there's a credit crunch on and I'd like to get my money's worth out of the shit I buy. I don't get fancy cocktails. However, I do like fancy beers. So yeah, it's always a matter of personal taste.
8/17/2011 2:32:02 PM
I got 2 $10 Moon and Stars from Foundation. Totally worth it. Not only was it delicious it tore me the f up.I don't mind paying more for drinks if they are good and get me drunk faster. This is usually the case at better establishments.
8/17/2011 2:34:41 PM
FANCY BEERS ARE OVERPRICEDWHY WOULD I PAY FOR A FANCY BEER WHEN THERE IS CHEAPER BEER AVAILABLE

8/17/2011 7:41:14 PM
damn, you people act like $14 lunches just made it to the east coast or some shit.

8/17/2011 8:07:07 PM
8/17/2011 8:48:10 PM
^This is true, but I think the "slightly smaller portion, lower price" model for downtown restaurants has been a pretty huge success, so if they did it at some point in the future I'd get behind it. Until that theoretical point in time, I will not bitch about 14 dollar lunches. Also, for those of you who are not tiny little women and girly men and enjoy eating a full meal, what is the appropriate amount of food to order here? I'm going in the next couple days and I want to feast but not over order. I have no idea how big the chicken or sides are, but I have to imagine you couldn't need more than two sides....plus a fancy beer.
