The small jar is straight stevia. The big one is pure evil.

Can anyone recommend a non-ass wine at Trader Joe's?
10/26/2011 3:34:35 PM
i find that unless you have a trader joes you can walk to... your food will probably spoil before you use it. Its all good food with no preservatives in it but if i try to plan a weeks worth of meals... shit is spoiled by Thursday.
10/26/2011 3:36:45 PM
lol yeah I tend to only buy stuff there if I intend on using it within a few days. It helps I basically live across the street from one
10/26/2011 3:37:37 PM
^^^ I keep trying them ... but no. I get three-buck Chuck if I'm making sangria or something, but most everything else I've ever gotten there has been pretty bad. And I'm really not picky.
10/26/2011 3:46:06 PM
I hope these come back this year (Christmas time)!!So yummy

Had their chocolate covered popcorn and chocolate covered peanut brittle this weekend. Both were quite good.
10/26/2011 5:12:11 PM
I'm about to eat their whole wheat sesame pita chips. So good.
10/26/2011 6:11:19 PM
10/26/2011 6:25:21 PM
Everything else is pretty awesome.
10/26/2011 9:29:19 PM
Their Pho is TERRIBLE!
10/26/2011 9:38:13 PM
this is some bullshit, trader joes
10/26/2011 10:32:27 PM
^omg lolclever packaging
10/26/2011 10:59:56 PM
^^ haha their mac and cheese is also bullshit. I was there last night and I thought to myself, "You know, I bet you the reason this reduced fat mac and cheese has less fat and calories is because it has less in the box." Sure enough, the regular mac and cheese is something like 16oz and the reduced fat is 7oz. It's easy to be 50% less fat when it's 50% less product

i thought the trader joe's label coastal cab was very drinkable for $4and other than that, i've always found lots of good wine there -- most of it was also sold elsewhere, sometimes cheaper sometimes not, so really finding a good bottle of wine depends on your preferences (i like buttery chardonnays, for example, and they have several good ones for cheap)and every once in awhile, they'd have something random that they bought in bulk that i would really like and it was a great deal (e.g., fife winery went out of business apparently but they were selling their petite sirah and some other reds for $7 until their supply was exhausted and i thought it was great)i've never been to tj's in nc though, so maybe the wine selection is different[Edited on October 27, 2011 at 12:24 PM. bogle, hogue, ravenswood, meridiani can't remember which ones of these tj usually carries, but these were often my go-to buttery chardsif you want to step up in price, i really like cambria and sonoma-cutrer (pretty sure tjs has the s-c, probably not the cambria)
10/27/2011 12:31:52 PM
these are amazing!
10/27/2011 12:40:34 PM
Their Vintage Ale's are pretty good. Will open my 2010 in December!
10/27/2011 1:07:14 PM
Just tried the frozen chili relleno. Was better than I was expecting. Hell, it's better than some of the ones I've had from Mexican restaurants around here.
10/27/2011 2:07:47 PM
omg the condensed cream of mushroom soup is so good I've always added it as an afterthought to casseroles but this was seriously the shit. Too bad it's a bajillion times more expensive than Campbell's
11/7/2011 9:01:45 PM
Got the pita chips with cinnamon and sugar to keep as a snack at my desk. These are addictive. Like eating mini French toast bites. I should probably hide these in my desk before I eat the whole bag in one sitting
11/9/2011 9:23:37 AM
I am currently addicted to this:I eat about a loaf a week
11/9/2011 12:05:08 PM
We make muffins from that.
11/9/2011 2:43:51 PM
Spanikopita is so so. Will probably serve the other box for Thanksgiving appetizers.
11/16/2011 10:58:53 AM
Drinking their mango lassi right now.Good, very much like restaurant lassi. Would buy again.I like the Josefina Rose they sell. It's $5.99 and it's good enough I serve it to people if I have brunch guests. I normally buy wine from Seaboard but there's a couple TJ wines that will do in a pinch. I work near the one in Cary so it's damn convenient.[Edited on November 18, 2011 at 8:48 PM. Reason : booze]

just had the Chicken Tikka Masala... Highly recommend! very delish... not overly spicy but enough for lunch at work.
1/20/2012 2:50:22 PM
Surprisingly pretty good...you just have to look past the 60% sodium per can. It'll getcha drunk.]
1/20/2012 2:53:54 PM
went there for the first time yesterday...Several hot wimmenz were observed.
1/20/2012 2:56:10 PM
They finally brought back the chocolate cake mix. That shit is really good for times I don't feel like making something from scratch.
1/20/2012 2:59:37 PM
These are freaking delicious. They are basically just vegetables in tempura batter but OMG, so good.
1/20/2012 3:19:58 PM
I started using coconut oil for cooking various veggies and meats. This stuff blows the crap I got from HT right out of the water and is 5 bucks cheaper. This stuff smells and tastes so much better. I could eat it out of the jar and it makes my kitchen smell awesome. Kinda strange that I find the taste of shredded coconut revolting but love this stuff.
2/7/2012 10:01:46 AM
^ Does it taste like coconut? I've been curious about that stuff since they started carrying it.

The eucalyptus body wash is on point
2/7/2012 10:16:16 AM
It does taste like coconut. I guess what I don't like about shredded coconut is the consistency. I prefer to use coconut oil over olive oil when I sautee zucchini because the taste of the coconut oil is much milder. You don't even really notice it is there. Evidently most coconut oil has added chemicals to sanitize the end product because the drying process is unsanitary. TJs uses a mechanical process to extract the oil with no chemicals. I knew the fact that it actually does taste like coconut must mean it was higher quality.
2/7/2012 10:43:46 AM
hmm might have to give it a try next time I'm in there.
2/7/2012 10:50:19 AM
Do they always have this organic, squeezed from Florida oranges only OJ? Or is bc it's orange season? Regardless...holy crap. It's like I juiced this in my own kitchen. Yum
2/8/2012 8:13:00 AM
fwiw, coconut oil makes amazing popcorn. just throw a tablespoon or two in a pot and add the kernels over a stove.quite good.
2/8/2012 8:16:24 AM
^^ I don't think they grow oranges in Florida year round so it's probably just a seasonal thing.
2/8/2012 8:58:15 AM
after reading this, I must try some TJ coconut oil for cooking. sounds pretty cool.
2/8/2012 9:16:07 AM
i could live off of these sweet potato chips. holy shit.[Edited on February 15, 2012 at 12:19 PM. Reason : for a while, then i'd probably have some kind of vitamin deficiency. a very tasty vitamin deficiency]
2/15/2012 12:18:42 PM
^^^Ever wonder why every carton of natural, healthy, 100 percent, not-from-concentrate orange juice manages to taste exactly the same, yet ever so slightly different depending on the brand, despite containing no additives or preservatives whatsoever? The process indeed starts with the oranges being squeezed, but that's the first and last normal step in the process. The juice is then immediately sealed in giant holding tanks and all the oxygen is removed. That allows the liquid to keep without spoiling for up to a year. That's why they can distribute it year-round, even when oranges aren't in season.Read more: The 6 Most Horrifying Lies The Food Industry is Feeding You | Cracked.com http://www.cracked.com/article_19433_the-6-most-horrifying-lies-food-industry-feeding-you.html

their version of Funyuns are straight CRACK!so crispy-fluffy-sweet-salty-onionyalso, I'm pretty addicted to their Gorgonzola crackers
2/15/2012 6:25:50 PM
The soyaki marinade is delicious. I think we usually cook it with chicken, but grilled some pork chops with it the other night and they were sooo delicious.I do not like their deli meats. I think you get a better selection and value at a normal grocery store.
2/24/2012 7:09:28 AM
Yesterday I tried one of their cold prepared Thai noodle salads with chicken. It was pretty decent.I wish that it had a few more vegetables and more ginger in it, though.
