"What if you work 9-10 hrs a day from like 9-7, 10-7, 11-8 or 2-12:30AM almost every day and you don't have time to sit outside to tan??!?! Plus I only get one day off and it takes all day to accomplish what I can't get done the rest of the week. Gotta do what you gotta do."

My suggestion would be to simply not worry about tanning, but that's just me.

Honestly, they aren't attractive to me at all. I think that tan women are attractive but I can tell your tan without looking at tan lines.

actually i have an amendment.

i think tanlines are sexy on a girl who's naked, bumming, or in casual to semi-casual dress.
which is the majority of the time.

but i feel like if you get really dressed up it kinda takes away from the look.

if that makes any sense.

why is it sexier than an overall tan appearance?

Tan lines only work if the two colors are relatively close

You can't be Casper underneath and Dan Marino outside

there's a lot of unnecessary hate on tanning beds in here. I'd rather lay in a tanning bed for a couple sessions and avoid getting burned the first time I go to the beach or the lake and forget to reapply sunscreen. Besides, farmer's tan looks disgusting on a guy that tans easily.

I guess it depends on the severity of the farmer's tan. When my arms and face could pass for hispanic but the rest of me is pasty white, it's distracting.

Tanning beds are a good way to end up with a scalpel on your skin (and so is forgetting sunscreen)*

*there are also other risk factors for getting skin cancer, but I'm paranoid now because I fall into some of the highest risk categories :-(

it's ok, I forgot about radiation exposure and that's supposed to be one of the ones I immediately think of for cancer

this is why we should work together

I think only if it's over a certain amount - if you have like over 200, you need to go see a doctor..

i noticed red hair on sam's list. is there anything about red hair other than its association with fair skin that makes it a high risk factor?

I would think heritage would play a role besides fair skin - usually people with red hair are of Northern European descent.. but with red heads I believeeee the main factor is their fair skin, susceptibility to freckle, etc.. basically more sensitive

I have a farmers tan because , you know, I'm a farmer.

[Edited on June 22, 2011 at 3:06 PM. Reason : also, I have no preference with regard to tan lines on the opposite sex.]

The hotness of her tan lines are proportional to her overall hotness quotient.
Light tan lines are good stuff. If it's dark and really noticeable, I'm not a big fan.

i.e. the chemicals in sunscreen

everything gives you cancer - especially if it's fun. so if you're going to get cancer, you might as well look good and enjoy yourself.
