The Tech Talk thread reference the Ipad2 lauch lies:message_topic.aspx?topic=609822The blog post in question:http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2011/03/03/steve-jobs-reality-distortion-takes-its-toll-on-truth/I give Apple credit. Starting at the top with Jobs they breed a mindset of being arrogant pricks who believe their products are better than anything else around. They do a damn good job of pushing thatphilosophy and their Fanbois eat it up. A great salesperson knows how to walk that line between reality and what he wants you to believe about his product in a way that makes you want to buy anything from him.

Peter Molyneux is exactly the same (only in Video Games). Masters of hyping revolutionary products and delivering decent products.

You know there's a difference between what a server is supposed to be and what a Mac Pro is supposed to be, right?[Edited on March 20, 2011 at 4:11 PM. Reason : That server also isn't the cheapest dual socket system Dell offers either.]

It kind of makes me happy I don't have cable so I don't have to watch stupid Apple commercials anymore. And LOL at all the Apple bitches getting butthurt because they don't like being called out for buying overpriced pretty things.

This thread has confirmed my decision to purchase an iPhone.
3/20/2011 7:35:34 PM
^^ LOL! At that price it comes with 2 1.6 ghz quad core processors. Get out of here with that shit.I put in a 2.26 Ghz quad core 2x, 6 GB or RAM (6x1gb) a 1 TB HDD and kept the shit video card, and it came out to be a little more expensive than Apple's quad core 2x which is at 2.4 ghz with 6gb of RAM (6x1gb), 1 TB HDD and a better video card.Try again.

So what you're saying, merbig, is that Dell's cheapest two socket offering isn't $6,000?[Edited on March 20, 2011 at 7:49 PM. Reason : .]

Hipsters, previously defined by peter as ironic counter-culture supporters, are now accused of using and defending the most popular phone on the planet. It's almost like he has no idea what he's talking about.
3/20/2011 7:51:14 PM
^^^ Yup, you got me on my lack of unfamiliarity with Dell's product line-up. If your goal was to prove that Dell offers a dual socket computer for less than $6000, you succeeded. You however failed in showing that Dell was actually cheaper than Apple when spec'd comparable. Seems like each time I try to configure the Dell to match one of Apple's Mac Pros, it comes out to be more expensive. I just tried 2 6 core Xeons and it comes out slower and more expensive.
3/20/2011 8:05:23 PM
Honestly I just went to Google and typed "dell dual socket" and clicked two links.I'm sure they offer cheaper shit, but I really have no interest in looking.
3/20/2011 8:18:21 PM
i don't get it."if you don't have an iphone, you don't have [insert service provided by apple here, like ibooks or itunes or ipod here]"what's wrong with that again?

"Our target market is people that keep leaving pieces of paper on their asses, so everyone that uses our product must be too stupid to wipe their ass properly with other paper"
3/21/2011 3:09:15 AM
I'm pretty sure that toilet paper and cutting edge technology have slightly different marketing strategies. That's just a really dishonest assessment of Charmin's message. But it's to be expected from someone who will defend Apple products with their last dying breath.[Edited on March 21, 2011 at 4:12 AM. Reason : ]
3/21/2011 4:09:40 AM
Not surprisingly, you're too blinded by your hatred and overall stupidity to see the point I'm making. All companies will try to make their products look better than competitors when they're all basically selling the same thing. It's the entire point of advertising. You'd love to put me in the "stupid Apple fanboy" category and dismiss anything I have to say as a result. But the fact of the matter is that I'm not defending Apple at all in this thread. I'm just pointing out the stupidity as a result of a small group of people that are every bit as passionate as this group of Apple fanboys that they all hate so much. Someone that wouldn't buy a product just because of the label on the box is every bit as blinded and ignorant as someone who buys it for the same reason. Picking on hipsters is just as much of an annoying trend as actually being a hipster. And if you're going to base your purchasing decisions on something as trivial as a commercial, or who doesn't make you hang up posters on the wall at your crappy retail job then you're just not that smart to begin with, so your opinion really isn't worth all that much.By the way, since it appears that I need to spell every single thing out for you, of course it was a dishonest assessment of Charmin's message, you spectacular retard. I was doing the exact same thing that the previous poster above me was doing. You can take practically any ad for any product and turn it into "well our product has [this feature], so everyone that uses our product must be too stupid to be without [this feature]." if you already go into viewing that ad with a bias towards it. Does it hurt being that stupid, or do you just get used to it?[Edited on March 21, 2011 at 4:33 AM. Reason : ibumad?]

Hahaha, El Nacho being outwitted by a commercial featuring a bright red bear with toilet paper on his ass.
3/21/2011 9:17:45 AM
Ok, I'll bite. How exactly was I outwitted, smart guy? You wouldnt happen to be trying to deflect attention away from the fact that you had your ass repeatedly served to you on a platter by merbig, would you?
3/21/2011 9:49:16 AM
Keep thinking about the bear and maybe you'll get it one day.My entire point in posting earlier was to refute the point that Dell's only dual socket offering was $6,000. I have no interest in running through spec by spec comparisons of two overpriced computers.Though, like Madman pointed out, it's not surprising you defend Apple at every turn since all you do is steal from them.Which, granted, does bring the price to play in their ecosystem down considerably.

Kindle runs perfectly fine on my Blackberry-screw Apple-and I've got 16gb and can hold my phone any way I like when I'm talking. And in a few weeks I will have my Sprint # as my Google Voice #

apple lovers and haters alike can agree that blackberry's are terrible, right?
3/21/2011 1:41:21 PM
What belonging to "Blackberry's" is terrible? I think a phone that HAS to be connected to a computer out of the fucking box before you can even place a phone call is pretty terrible...
3/21/2011 6:53:26 PM
almost daily battery pulls, laggy OS, hour glasses, crappy web browser, etc etc
3/21/2011 6:56:23 PM
99% of Blackberry issues are user error
3/21/2011 7:07:54 PM
A crappy web browser and laggy OS is not user error. I have a new Blackberry Curve for work and I absolutely love it, but the browser is weak compared and it does lag heavily from time to time (even after clearing cache, etc...).
3/21/2011 7:53:57 PM
iPhone 4 by far the best smartphone made by apple.
