I didn't find any part of that trailer funny. I laughed a bit during the first one, but I have no desire to EVER see it again. I hate it when "comedy" relies on drugs, alcohol, and sex. There's never any replay value to it once you know what's coming.

Some Like it Hot will always be #1 in my heart, followed closely by Airplane.

But if you want to know from funny, then you have to see Kentucky Fried Movie (directed by John Landis and made by a lot of the same folks from Airplane and Naked Gun)

Never mind, I see that the comedy nazis have in fact been here for some time. I shouldn't be surprised.

I thought the first movie was funny. Not groundbreaking, but funny. I don't need to have my worldview of comedy shaken to its core by a thing to laugh at it. I will go see the sequel because I believe it will follow in a similar (but hopefully not identical vein, and the last vein got me to laugh.

Movie was good. Started off kind of slow and of course it had same plot/theme but it still worked in a twisted way. Although it could never live up to the first one, it gave a good try.

Will see it again and buy the DVD.

It was basically a remake of the first one. It was entertaining and worth seeing as a first-run movie.

I liked the first Hangover a lot, but I usually like those kind of comedies more than most. I also loved Wedding Crashers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, etc.

I've heard this sequel is absolutely awful, though.

edit: Oh, and I couldn't get past the snotty, pretentious attitudes of most of the characters in Sideways enough to enjoy it, but I know that's a petty reason to not like a film and I get that that is a large part of the film's point. Last time I tried to watch it was like 4 years ago; maybe if I watched it now, I'd like it.

Just got back from seeing it. It was literally the exact same movie as the first. You get a sense of 'trying to hard' to focus on Allen in this one though. Definitely a must see but not at the theaters. Save your money and just DVR/rent it later.

I thought Due Date was much better.

this was definitely true in the earlier part of the film. So much so that it made his character obnoxious rather than funny.

although **SPOILER** i did like his shout out to "raleigh/durham", even though I wish as a former resident he had not grouped the two cities together like all out of towners do who have only been through our airport

how weak is your psyche, how eager is your ego, that the mere utterance of the city you happen to inhabit gives you a hard on?

DEFINITELY hilarious. Worth seeing, for sure. Who cares if it's "the same?" It's actually NOT the same unless you consider all sex/drug/lost-person comedies "the same." It's highly entertaining and I was rolling at times. Super hilarious.

With the ridiculous amount of bank it just made, there is no doubt that the studio will want a third. I could see them doing another movie with the same characters but they will have to do something completely different other than passing out and trying to piece together the previous night. Kinda goes against the title itself but I would imagine they could come up with something.

Well, I believe Alan is the only one that has no woman/isn't married, so I would imagine it would revolve around that. And I would expect some sort of Jonas Brothers cameo.

saw this last night at mission valley

it was a pretty shitty movie. what was pretty funny was that a bunch of frat bros sat behind us making all kinds of dumb comments like "DUDE I WANT DAT MONKEY BRO!" and shit like that. when paul giamatti made his cameo, the bros got all atwitter and one asked who that was and one of the bros goes "DUDE DAT'S GIOVANNI RIBISI, HE'S A GREAT ACTOR BRO!"i couldn't tell whether to be annoyed at how obnoxious they were or amused by how dumb they were. i was a little of both.

While it was definitely no Bridesmaids, it was pretty funny. I expected it to be way, way worse so I was pleasantly surprised.

Although...

** SPOILER **

I'm surprised people took forever to catch on to the fact that it was a lady boy in the strip club. My friend and I immediately looked at each other like O.O when they showed her face, and the girls behind us started whispering "ew ew ew" but until like right before you saw full on dong no one caught on (then a few people said something along the lines of "YO MAN THAT'S A DUUUUDE")

I'll be the dissenter here. It was funny, but relied on being more crude than funny. Humor was way too graphic for me. I'd give it a C.

plenty of people have said it was average

I was bored near the end of the movie. They didn't even try to change up the plot at all, which was pretty disappointing. And that Tyson cameo was just stupid

Lots of full frontal nudity, intense language, and extreme sexual content. I'm not exactly sure how this compares to other NC-17 flicks (cant remember ever seeing one), but I've seen R rated movies that should be PG compared to this. Also, if I were a parent, there's no way I'd let my kids see this, high school or not.

Just to pre-emptively avoid some argument, I'm not saying the film shouldnt be made, but the rating system is supposed to give people a good idea of what they should expect going into a film. I've seen plenty of far tamer R rated comedies than Hangover 2. Not everyone wants to go into a comedy and see a bunch of chicks with dicks (obviously turns Ernie on, however). I kinda knew to expect crude, but it outshot my expectations.

The rating system has been a joke for a while, so I guess I shouldnt be too surprised.

in comparison between the first and the second, the first should almost have fallen into a tamer category - until the photos at the end. the second one locked it in before the end

Yeah, the photos at the end of the first were pretty bad. Then they decided to use the photos as the regular material in the second then make the photos at the end even worse.

Before they started rolling the credits, I was cringing, because I knew to expect the worst.

*SPOILER ALERT

So you have sex with a she-male and prostitutes/strippers shooting ping pong balls out of their vaginas... yeah, that's an R-rated movie

"Lots of full frontal nudity"

There were like two sets of breasts and maybe three dicks that actually got significant screen time. Not exactly groundbreaking in a rated R film. It's like +1 in both categories from the original Hangover.

Quote :
"intense language"

You're going to need something more than that to get out of the R rating.

Quote :
"and extreme sexual content."

They talk about it, but none of it was actually in the movie.
