Portal Page 3I really want to start the co-op, but as far as I know the network's still down. I hear it's a lot more challenging.

If i bought it for xbox, is there any way to play co-op with someone that's on PC? (very unlikely I know)
5/5/2011 10:47:52 AM
I think only PS3 / PC
5/5/2011 10:56:50 AM
You mean it's only PC-PC at the moment, amirite?

Awesome so far. Favorite part is when the lights go out and Wheatley is providing lighting - the shadow effects are gorgeous. The whole game is one of the more immersive experiences in recent memory. My onlyAPERTURE SCIENCEloading...complaint, and it'sAPERTURE SCIENCEloading...a minor one, has toAPERTURE SCIENCEloading...do with the frequency ofAPERTURE SCIENCEloading...well you get the idea.[Edited on May 6, 2011 at 9:03 AM. [old] perhaps, but I only experienced portal 1 a day before I played portal 2http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=359B764A0A3B8188&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_925984

I know. What a grouch. On another note, just how many decades does it take to test a portal gun?
5/13/2011 10:09:12 PM
People this fucking stupid shouldn't be allowed to adopt in the first placehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUQYrdgIJuI&feature=youtu.beThe morons responsible for making this 'story' should also be castrated

..........you know.........after thinking about it, they did rate this game E.A ten year old may not be able to pick up on the irony and tongue-in-cheek nature of the dialogue. If they're an adopted orphan...could hurt I guess. But the reaction of the dad - the adult - was incredibly over the top.[Edited on May 18, 2011 at 4:44 PM. Reason : ]

youre probably the only person who thinks that; he was a fantastic addition.**SPOILER**you're aware of the GladOS conclusion that he was designed to be a moron right.**SPOILER**[Edited on May 18, 2011 at 11:06 PM. Reason : *]
5/18/2011 11:05:26 PM
yes i know he was designed to be a moron, but that still doesn't mean that his implementation as a character wasn't terrible
5/18/2011 11:24:04 PM
neither does anything you've said
5/18/2011 11:28:26 PM
Wheatley was a blast./fact
5/19/2011 6:34:55 PM
I was thinking that they should've had Karl Pilkington as Wheatly, but then you would've known he was an idiot at the start.
5/19/2011 6:44:51 PM
is it just me, or does the male announcer in the "retro" part of the game sound exactly like this guy?[Edited on May 24, 2011 at 6:12 PM. Reason : derp. it is him... J.K. Simmons from the farmers commercials, Juno, etc][Edited on May 24, 2011 at 6:13 PM. Reason : \/ ಠ_ಠ]

I beat the co-op last night. I must say that couch co-op is a lot less frustrating than online co-op. Then again, I don't have a blue tooth ear piece or a keyboard. I'm curious as to how the DLC packs will fit-in continuity-wise.
7/7/2011 10:20:06 AM
Slowly working my way through the single player -- I discovered the dry dock of the Borealis ship that was referenced in Half-Life 2: Episode Two. I'm hoping that in Episode Three there is some kind of Portal/Half-Life crossover.
7/8/2011 9:08:01 AM
Finished single player. Any of you folks on Xbox Live wanna do some co-op play?

lol @ link portal gun
8/23/2011 9:54:54 PM
That trachtenberg short is ok.Her discovery of the gun makes no sensethe usage was pretty mundane, could have had cooler interactions with the guards besides running away. There should have been a GladOS teaseportal effects were well done
8/25/2011 3:52:12 PM
Such high expectations?
8/25/2011 4:48:55 PM
I didnt know it existed until I saw it. The director just kind of gets on my nerves. I think he thinks a bit much of himself.
8/25/2011 6:40:52 PM
I got my sister into the Portal series a while ago, and we spent this weekend doing the co-op stuff. I never knew co-op could be so much fun.

DLC should be out today.
10/4/2011 7:21:28 AM
^ just finished the co-op DLC. amazing stuff. love this game and hope there's a fucking third. also, FREE DLC?!??! when the fuck does that ever happen, especially when the DLC is absurdly fun.
10/6/2011 4:04:23 AM
^that's valve's new MO. They have done it with TF2, CS:Source, and the Left4dead titles. Probably others too, but those are the ones I own.
10/6/2011 9:53:35 AM
Old topic, but I just picked this up in the latest steam sale, so if anyone wants to play some co-op, let me know! Loving the game so far!
11/29/2011 2:41:07 PM
Just finished it, friend got it for me on the steam sale for christmas. It was amazing.Do they ever explain how she got caught again after escaping in the first game?
12/28/2011 1:16:05 PM
^If you beat the first one shortly after it came out then it is never explained. A few months after the first one came out though, they had a patch that slightly changed the ending. After the final explosion that launches you into the Aperture parking lot, you hear what sounds like a robot (You never see the robot but I'd assume Atlas or P-Body) power up and you are seen being dragged back into the complex.Fun thing though, considering that above the complex in the first Portal was a parking lot/buildings/industrial area, and in Portal 2 you exit into what looks like fields of wheat or whatever, it may indicate that you've been in hibernation for hundreds of years.
