Rhys Chatham maybe for the Paris guy.Brooklyn siren I would guess Little Scream.
3/30/2011 2:40:26 PM
Yeah, I could see that. Good call on Rhys Chatham.
3/30/2011 2:47:04 PM
Definitely Rhys Chatham.Hmm, seminal trio of Australian improvisers....The Wiggles?
3/30/2011 3:11:31 PM
if only it was a Folk Comedy duo from New Zealand
3/30/2011 3:48:37 PM
So, so far, most likely we have (from the hints they've given via Twitter/their website):Titus AndronicusThe DodosCold CaveLittle Scream and/or SVERhys ChathamAlong with the local bands that seem certain to be there like The Love Language, Megafaun, The Rosebuds, Future Islands, etc. That's a pretty fucking great start IMO.
3/30/2011 3:55:07 PM
these tweets are getting me ridiculously excited (mostly the ones from Grayson)
3/30/2011 4:09:47 PM
man, someone's gotta spill it...with the coaching search and this, I can't handle not knowing things. This is killing me.
3/30/2011 4:18:47 PM
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but DeYarmond Edison reunited briefly at SXSW. Be awesome if we could get a full set from them at Hopscotch.
3/30/2011 4:21:02 PM
!
3/30/2011 6:40:27 PM
gayngs...?
3/30/2011 10:32:27 PM
Gayngs would be cool, but I'd rather have a set from DYE...but I have no reason to believe it could happen other than their reunion at SXSW. I don't even know if Megafaun will be there.

yarmo was the best band in raleigh for a bit, but it seemed like few cared. would love to see them play again.
3/31/2011 2:19:25 AM
have heard quite a few other things going on. a few areSwansToro Y MoiDawn Golden & Rosy Crossand the headliner on Saturday which everyone will love unless they hate themselves and/or music[Edited on April 3, 2011 at 5:57 PM. Reason : ]

Hopscotch is going to completely rule this year. It seems like they did a great job with the mid- to upper-tier bands this year: Swans, Titus Andronicus, Toro y Moi, The Dodos, Cold Cave, etc. I'm excited to see all those bands. And I have a feeling the Saturday night headliner is gonna be epic as fuck.
4/4/2011 9:16:19 AM
so that headliner that was up in the air committed?
4/4/2011 9:26:00 AM
no, definitely not.i didn't say i knew who it was. i just said i have a feeling. it isn't the headliner that was up in the air earlier, though, that much i know.
4/4/2011 9:29:51 AM
4/4/2011 10:53:06 AM
how much were ticket prices last year?
4/4/2011 10:56:09 AM
I want to say $75-80 for the all show band (maybe $35 or $40 for the headlining shows each night) and $120-$130 for the VIP wristband.
4/4/2011 2:36:28 PM
First official band: SwansVery nice writeup/love letter by Grayson about the process behind booking them:http://hopscotchmusicfest.com/news/post/swans-to-play-hopscotch/
4/5/2011 5:32:03 PM
If they book James Blake I'd threaten to not even go.Btw, the "secret" band is clearly the Arcade Fire, if anyone cares...[Edited on April 5, 2011 at 7:34 PM. Reason : k]

dumb and dumber
4/5/2011 8:15:41 PM
I would love it if they booked James Blake. Not sure why you brought him up, other than the fact that Grayson wrote the Pitchfork review. He seems like kind of a longshot for Hopscotch. And Arcade Fire is definitely not the headliner. On a related side note, Grayson wrote a pretty nasty article about them in the Indy when The Suburbs came out. Poor timing if you ask me, but whatever.

IS IT APRIL 20TH YET?
4/6/2011 6:13:13 PM
theres a lot of scattered bits and pieces in here...can someone just post confirmed bands in 1 single post for me?
4/7/2011 8:15:58 AM

The saturday headlining act is probably fucking Prince or radiohead
4/7/2011 11:09:52 AM
looks like wristbands will be $65 and VIP $160I'd say it's highly likely we'll get an Archers of Loaf GBV Superchunk kinda thing too. I don't really care about seeing any of those bands (well maybe GBV) but I'm sure some will be pumped.
4/7/2011 11:30:03 AM
if anyone wants to PM me the super secret saturday band...feel free. I like info.
4/7/2011 12:08:34 PM
$160 is still pretty affordable for VIP. Is $65 for the all-show wristband including the two headlining shows at the plaza, sans VIP perks? That's a pretty crazy price difference between the two, if so. $65 would be insanely cheap if that's the price for the whole thing non-VIP.
4/7/2011 12:09:10 PM
im guessing 65 is just for all the "headliner" shows...i'd guess around 115 for the all show wristband sans VIP.I'm going VIP all the way...still cheap and pretty much needed after seeing it last year.
4/7/2011 12:20:23 PM
Considering that IIRC the VIPs sold out in around a month when no one knew whether or not they'd be valuable, I think they'll sell out in a day this time.
4/7/2011 12:48:40 PM
I'm going to set around 4 alarms for the morning of April 20th
4/7/2011 12:53:38 PM
^^^ I am guessing all shows will be $100-120. Last year they were $85 I think....no way they are going down $20. $65 probably gets you into the headlining show each night.
4/7/2011 1:25:42 PM
Or, like they did last year, the cheapest wristband ($65 this year, $40 I believe last year) will get you access to all the non-headlining club shows.
4/7/2011 1:44:01 PM
^Thats probably right. Headlining shows were $35 or $40 each I think.
4/7/2011 1:57:42 PM
^Wow, that seems a little expensive for a festival...
4/7/2011 2:50:11 PM
not really
4/7/2011 2:51:41 PM
I think the headlining shows were only $30. that's 10 dollars a band. not really that bad.
4/7/2011 2:55:46 PM
^^$40 per headliner is most definitely expensive for a music festival^that's much more reasonable
4/7/2011 3:17:18 PM
not when it's $10 per band
4/7/2011 3:20:40 PM
adultswim, I think you're confused. It was $30 for three of the six headliners. And if you bought the $85 all-show wristband, all six headliners were included in that price; it wasn't $30 on top of the festival wristband.[Edited on April 7, 2011 at 3:31 PM. Reason : U]
4/7/2011 3:28:00 PM
$40 for a headliner isn't expensive...It will just depend on who it is.
4/7/2011 3:30:20 PM
^^I was looking at this guys post, and thought it meant per band.
