didn't realize gamestop still sold pc games , I mean their retail stores is just consoles and thats why I stopped going to them.
8/25/2011 2:00:23 AM
Amazon has this for $40 bucks for a download that activates via steam.
8/25/2011 2:09:33 AM
God damn this game is awesome.
8/25/2011 10:20:21 AM
Yes. I am truly taken aback by the quality of the game.
8/25/2011 10:53:44 AM
I don't know if I want to play stealthy/nonlethal at first or guns fucking blazing.
8/25/2011 12:59:45 PM
Beat it, loved it.Did everything, sneaking, killing, talking, hacking. Had nearly every augmentation. What a great game! Reminded me so much of the original but in fact better. And the PC version was excellent. Looked beautiful, controlled great.Oh and stick around after the credits, especially if you played the original.[Edited on August 26, 2011 at 11:16 AM. Reason : .]
8/26/2011 10:47:54 AM
yea the reviewers were complaining about stuff moron was talking about, I haven't played it yet myself but if it does all the typical deus ex stuff well then it should be great, I don't remember the gun fights in the original being that complicated all the time either
8/26/2011 8:49:20 PM
I took out the entire police station by crawling into various vents and shooting peoples knees while they fired 2 feet above vent.
8/26/2011 8:51:46 PM
Yeah, they didn't really react to vents very well. Also, if you hack the alarm plates before engaging sometimes they just run up to it stand there and say "hit the alarm, man!"
8/27/2011 2:18:46 PM
Is there karma or anything in this game? Whynwuldyou want to kill all the police... Or am I not that far yet?
8/27/2011 3:45:27 PM
heh, i find it easier to just kill everyone than to sneak around, even on hard. But damn, bullets seem scare.
8/27/2011 3:53:06 PM
Finished my first run through. Managed to get the Non-Lethal achievement, which wasn't too hard (but I'm sure not as badass)Looking forward to my next play. Gonna try to go for the no alarm achievement...I'm sure that'll be a bitchAll in all this game was fucking awesome, my only nitpick would be the ending...seems a little rushed.
8/31/2011 2:33:08 AM
just beat it. really fun. the ending was weak but the rest of it was great.
9/3/2011 3:22:44 PM
I liked the final ending movies, however, the ending felt rushed and the final boss fight was a joke, especially compared to the chick auggie. I mean, for the entire time leading up to the final fight, you're finding so much ammo so you're thinking 'Fuck, this is going to be bad', and then get there and win in 30 seconds.
9/3/2011 7:10:37 PM
I find it funny that the first boss battle with barrett wasn't as bad as I thought. first time through, I cloaked, turned the corner, hid and barrett ended up throwing unlimited nades at a wall, which bounced back and killed himself...Hard really provides little challenge, but still enjoyable.
9/3/2011 7:34:20 PM
any of you guys have a ps3/360 version you want to sell?
9/6/2011 7:25:52 PM
Just started...Is there some sort of stash at some point? The inventory space is cramped, and so far it looks like you just have to drop or sell weapons. I wouldn't mind having a set of lethal and non lethal weapons at my disposal so I could opt for one set over the other, depending on the mission, but there's simply not enough space to pull that off.
9/8/2011 12:04:36 PM
Um, I think the game world is persistent, so if you drop items in your apt they should be there when you go back (I have never tested this), but there is no official stash. Just sell/drop and move on.
9/8/2011 12:12:03 PM
You don't need that much inventory space. The weapons you get are standardized and other than ammo/health items the only other space you need is for upgrades which you'd always used right off away anyway. Best advice here is to pick 2-3 weapons that fit your playstyle and stick with them. If you're going non-lethal, I still suggest having a lethal weapon in your inventory (if only for the full-upgrade achievement).
9/8/2011 12:42:56 PM
I'm a lil more than halfway through (i think)I found Barrett and his grenade spam MUCH harder than the chick boss. With her I just used typhoon a few times and shotgun to the face. Easy easy kill.
9/8/2011 1:01:43 PM
Guess you didn't have the Typhoon ready for Barrett then. That augmentation is ridiculous.
9/8/2011 1:11:50 PM
I plan on using that for my next playthrough. Didn't bother with it last time since I was going non-lethal
9/8/2011 1:33:57 PM
That is a legitimate gripe. The game goes to lengths to give you choice to go non-lethal and then BAM: difficult boss that all the non-lethal praxis points you spent will be worthless on.
9/8/2011 4:54:42 PM
^just hide and let him take splash dmg from his own nades.
9/8/2011 6:31:12 PM
i just ended up stunning him with emp nades and blasting him in the face with the combat rifle
9/8/2011 6:38:01 PM
what? couldn't hug him to death?
9/8/2011 7:15:33 PM
It's not like all the boss fights don't have a heavy rifle sitting right near by.
9/8/2011 7:21:22 PM
Late to the party, but finished this last night. I had a ton of fun and thought it was a good game, but the last bit really just fell through and sucked. I really wish this was reflected in game reviews - most games I play just have shitty endings that are never talked about because its like reviewers play for 1 hour of gameplay and that's how it goes. Felt like they had a general idea of where the story was going for 70% of the game, and bullshitted their way to release. Really liked them rewarding stealthiness and nonleathal takedowns. Some augments were absurdly overpowered but that's fine. I liked hacking a lot more then bioshocks timestop pipe dreamSpoilers below?Who the hell was Darrow? Did they just throw him in as a third choice? Even the small 'twist' of oh hey he turned on these dudes was dumb as hell. His name was mentioned a bit but it'd have been way different if Taggart / Sarif / hacker dude did something horribly evil
9/30/2011 2:27:05 PM
I thought Hugh Darrow was very clearly defined, especially once you get to China.
9/30/2011 2:58:31 PM
He was mentioned. And he made you do a job. But beyond a couple cutscenes before the Pangea thing, he wasn't really around, and I had no real reason to be surprised or care about what he did that late in
9/30/2011 4:02:30 PM
Yeah, the last boss battle was pretty anticlimactic, especially if you have a laser rifle. Heck, the last level as a whole was kind of easy. Loved the game otherwise though. Lots of fun.[Edited on September 30, 2011 at 4:04 PM. Reason : .]
9/30/2011 4:03:39 PM
He wrote a lot of the e-books around the world.
9/30/2011 4:03:53 PM
I remember he was mentioned a few times in the ebooks, but assumed he was a whatever character. I think I was more expecting something when you flew back to your apartment where Sarif was 'waiting', and there were Sarif guards all over the place. Was ready to have to go nuts and expected shit to go down then. (If they were there beforehand, I never saw them )
9/30/2011 4:09:45 PM
Hugh Darrow is probably the most talked about person in the whole game. I don't see what was confusing about him.
9/30/2011 4:19:28 PM
Why are frag mines so much more powerful than frag grenades? The grenades were generally worthless to me in this game...
9/30/2011 7:42:43 PM
didn't use a single grenade. Starting in on my undetected playthrough this weekend
9/30/2011 8:13:44 PM
Maybe I suck at paying attention then. I recall Darrow's name being mentioned in a lot of those books but not enough to really remember. Just the cutscene of the obviously shady guy in Sarif's office.Only grenades I used were the EMPs. A lot of the weapons seemed kinda pointless. Nade Launcher, Laser Rifle (except for cheating), Plasma Rifle were all great but there's never a point where you don't need a tranq gun, combat rifle, and a shitload of energy snacks
10/1/2011 11:38:53 AM
game didn't play as well as I'd liked on my gts250 so I shelved it until my upgrade. Put in the 6950 and the stutter and motion sickness from framerate flux is all gone. really enjoying it but now I have to go to work
11/11/2011 9:36:45 AM
11/27/2011 11:47:27 AM
Yeah, the hardest boss fight for me was the russian chick, the finale one was a joke.
11/27/2011 1:57:39 PM
The atmosphere in the second and third boss fights were pretty baller. Wish they lasted longer. The fourth one had potential (with the chicks going crazy and shit) but it was what? 4 sentry guns plus a robot?
11/27/2011 2:16:35 PM
anyone got the dlc? they say it's 5 hours. they slated the regular game at 25 hours and I clocked in at 48
