For those of you with wideband or extreme, I would appreciate you running the speedtest at ndt.ncren.net, sending me the results, and if you dont mind, your IP address. I am trying to connect the dots for the engineers at Time Warner. I need your IP so they can determine how your path differs from mine.
3/24/2011 4:14:36 PM
just called twc, and my bill would go up by $20 to get 30/5. fuck all that noise.
3/24/2011 5:06:41 PM
you mean it will cost more money to get higher speeds? wtf
3/24/2011 5:09:46 PM
more money, sure, but $20/mo more...not so much. A friend of mine is paying $45 for the same thing. Perhaps i need to talk to someone else
3/24/2011 5:15:26 PM
I'm paying $54.95 for the first year for Extreme
3/24/2011 5:16:43 PM
That's what was offered to me as well.
3/24/2011 5:19:51 PM
Where did your friend get the $45 deal? Is that for Extreme?
3/24/2011 5:39:13 PM
he got it through retention once he mentioned u-verse, which is apparently their kryptonite.
3/24/2011 5:48:43 PM
Just got extreme installed herehow to put in bridge mode:http://jaredwatkins.com/wordpress/2011/01/putting-the-ubee-cable-modem-from-time-warner-in-bridge-mode/Note the url is supposed to be "/TlModeChange.asp" my ip: 69.134.244.218ndt.ncren.net:

^ Thank you. Not a good speed to NCRen... This is helpful. Thanks!
3/25/2011 10:25:55 AM
3/25/2011 4:39:40 PM
Thank you! ^
3/25/2011 8:51:48 PM
Could some of you tell us what prices you are paying? I was quoted $77.95 for the 30/5 and $99 for the 50/5. I can't get a rep that will give me any promotional price so I may have to go with the full price.Thanks.
3/29/2011 3:48:40 PM
I'm paying 54.95 for RR now and when I just called to order I was told 30/5 was $20 more and 50/5 was going to be $99 more. Is that right, $150 for 50/5?
3/29/2011 5:57:23 PM
So I can't just order this online, I have to call them?
3/29/2011 11:12:56 PM
So I finally got Extreme being installed tomorrow after going through 4 reps. None of them seemed to know anything about a promotion but the rep I talked to last went to his supervisor and they gave it to me. $54.95/month for 12 months$57.95 one time install feeNow my other friends called and the reps were not giving them the deal, but then my friends gave them my address to see I had a promotion and they got the same rate.

Those of you that are getting installs scheduled, where are you at exactly? I am over near campus, off Kaplan, and keep getting told it isn't available and they won't give me any idea when it will be available.
3/30/2011 9:54:43 AM
Now available in Garner. Install tomorrow night. FTW. Kat gave me the 54.95 without even asking. [Edited on March 30, 2011 at 11:12 AM. Reason : Kat pwns]

Did you already have TWC service? Were you locked in with a 2 year deal or anything like that previously? My 2 price lock deal is up this month and I would love to add this to my new deal and wonder what some of you had at the time of signing up.
3/30/2011 12:39:18 PM
My 2 year contract is up this month, as well. I am essentially cancelling and resigning the weekend after my contract is up - already scheduled an install appt though
3/30/2011 1:22:46 PM
speak of the devil. I was able to make an appt for tomorrow for an install off Lorimer Rd. So if you are in that area, give them a call.(also, dumb question time, is putting the new TWC modem in bridge mode what I will need to do to continue using my Airport?)
3/30/2011 1:29:24 PM
3/30/2011 2:11:50 PM
It's available for me in Clayton - install is Friday night!

I'm downloading from the newsgroups at 3.783 MB/s though, so I don't know why the test from NCREN is so much lower.Just used this link to change mine to Bridge Mode.http://192.168.0.1/TlModeChange.aspIf my link doesn't work check out http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25524438-Ubee-DDW3611-Bridge-Mode-about 3/4 of the way down and it should take you to the right page.]
3/31/2011 4:02:12 PM
3.783 MB/s = 30.264 Mb/s
3/31/2011 4:24:00 PM
^Yeah sorry, I figured you guys could convert that mentally. I tried typing in that link but it didn't work, I clicked on the one in that forum and it got me there.

4/1/2011 3:32:46 PM
My installation should start any time now. Waiting for cable dude to show up.
4/1/2011 6:36:58 PM
or not...still waiting.
4/1/2011 7:51:42 PM
still waiting?
4/1/2011 11:27:02 PM
Nope, it's installed now.
4/1/2011 11:36:22 PM
oh, and, btw:the guy that came to install it didn't have any idea what he was doing, but he was super nice. i basically walked him through it, haha.he did let me copy the install guide that they give the techs, though. http://upload.evanosaurus.com/files/get/UymTDXLlq3/twc-wideband-install-guide.pdfnothing in there we didn't already know, but interesting nonetheless. i think it's particularly interesting that there is no mention of the purported "admin" account, just the user/user one.
4/3/2011 12:29:45 PM
So I call and I can get this for $55/month for a year? Or is this some special nerd-privvy offering?
4/3/2011 1:01:18 PM
^ I emailed the sales rep mentioned on page 2 and she gave me the $55/mo pricing for 30M/5M. it was all done via email.
4/3/2011 3:34:16 PM
She got mine down to $50/mo with the triple play package. Email her, she's good.
4/3/2011 3:53:18 PM
^^ OK thx. I'm bout to holla at her.

Ok. I've seen enough with the NDT tests. I am going to see if I can't escalate this up the chain. Something isnt right...Thanks for all the posts.[Edited on April 4, 2011 at 11:06 AM. Reason : .]

FWIW my ncren test was really close to my speedtest.net result, around 30/5. I didn't post it because it wouldn't let me copy/paste.
4/4/2011 11:23:04 AM
install scheduled for noon tomorrow - 27610
4/4/2011 7:02:28 PM
i know you guys are moving to bridge mode to use your own routers.. but is there really an advantage? i've always preferred to roll my own myself... but the ubee seems to be doing fine for me as an all-in-one. just wondering if i'm missing out on something.. especially with TWC, every little bit helps.
4/4/2011 7:07:56 PM
DD-WRT
4/4/2011 8:11:40 PM
Quote :"DD-WRT"still loaded on my last router.. some of it was pretty sweet customization-wise but i haven't seen anything missing that i really needed. i guess that's what i'm asking for
