true, she is. fish on the other hand LOVES the snow & has no problem overestimating.
12/15/2010 12:30:19 PM
i predict we will have snow covered roads in the morning but it will be gone by end of business on thursday
12/15/2010 12:33:40 PM
You're highly optimistic.
12/15/2010 12:38:23 PM
well i figure if its supposed to start snowing around 3AM and not switch over to wintry mix until 6 hours later then that should be enough time to have snow on the roads when we all go to work tomorrow morning. but with the warming temps and afternoon rain it will all melt by the time we go home from work.
12/15/2010 1:26:34 PM
start snowing at 3AM? it will be lucky to even reach the ground by 6-7... it has to moisten the layer first
12/15/2010 4:16:40 PM
Yeah I've been hearing we can expect snow around 8am, just in time for my commute
12/15/2010 4:21:00 PM
snOMG!!but really it would be awesome if i had an excuse to stay home for my daughters first birthday tomorrow...

12/15/2010 9:50:46 PM
I've already decided that I'm working from home tomorrow.
12/15/2010 10:14:32 PM
Roads are completely white, with probably .25-.5 in of snow
12/16/2010 5:57:57 AM
12/16/2010 6:31:01 AM
snow pretty much done in raleigh, right? transition to sleet/frzra?
12/16/2010 6:35:31 AM
Yeah, i've got probably .5 inches of snow covering my culdesac. I'm in RTP/Durham.
12/16/2010 7:14:00 AM
yeah. i don't see myself going to work anytime soon.
12/16/2010 7:19:14 AM
Roads are fine if you aren't retarded plus most people appear to have taken the OMG snow I can't drive approach so there are barely any cars out there anyways
12/16/2010 8:40:58 AM
It is days like today where you're glad there's a telework option at work. And it's moments like right now where you wish you had exercised it.
12/16/2010 8:47:33 AM
i hate working from home. unfortunately, my kid's daycare is delayed until 11, so i'm WFH until then.half of my employees will stay home for 1 snowflake, and get virtually nothing done all day.the other half will kick ass no matter where they are.
12/16/2010 8:57:40 AM
12/16/2010 9:25:21 AM
^^Even with a baby at home, I get more done at home than the office. I don't have people coming in and out of my office all day.
12/16/2010 9:29:51 AM
^ I've noticed with my boss gone the past three days that I've gotten more done than with him here. He's been out sick and is coming in at noon today, and my productivity will abruptly end.
12/16/2010 9:35:51 AM
Just came from Glenwood near Crabtree out to Page Road and the roads are fine. The TV really had me worried with all the doom and gloom reports. If I had to guess, we have about 15% of the people here at work that we normally do.So much for a snowpocalypse.
12/16/2010 9:51:31 AM
Time to start considering the next chance this weekend
12/16/2010 3:04:48 PM
are we going to get any more rain today or is this shit going to stick around till tomorrow?[Edited on December 16, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Reason : ?]

Where's that 70 degree Christmas I was hoping for. Looks like Progress Energy's Christmas present was a December where nearly every day was a good 20 degrees below normal.

NWS Discussion hinting at a mid-level snow event Sat night. Any thoughts weather guys?
12/17/2010 9:02:20 AM
damn i really need to get some new tires
12/17/2010 11:14:25 AM
^^ How late Saturday night? I'm coming up for graduation and going to the Hurricanes game that night, but would like to avoid getting stuck in nasty weather.
12/17/2010 11:27:51 AM
My site and forecast:http://www.sandhillswx.com
12/17/2010 11:44:12 AM
As long as the snow waits until after 11pm to start falling Saturday I'll be happy. I got jack all to do on Sunday and a day snowed in would be nice.
12/17/2010 11:47:57 AM
damn. gotta make sure I have milk and bread
12/17/2010 11:56:27 AM
^^^ So you're thinking 1-2 inches for the Raleigh area?
12/17/2010 12:47:34 PM
^Holy shit, you can read!
12/17/2010 12:53:40 PM
Actually, I was wanting to know if his forecast had changed. Seems a lot of other bloggers are backing down their estimates a bit. No need to be an ass in this thread.
12/17/2010 12:56:44 PM
^ As of now I don't plan on backing down unless the model runs tonight look awful. I know this is one of those situations forecasters all around could easily be burned by.
12/17/2010 1:22:44 PM
NWS hasn't updated their short term discussion since 3:30am -- must not feel very comfortable..
12/17/2010 1:25:40 PM
he just posted his forecast, and then you asked if it had changed. I agree there's no NEED to be an ass, but since it's the lounge, I expect a higher level of competency from posters than in CC.
12/17/2010 1:27:11 PM
nws discussion as of 245PM doesn't sound great....maybe some snow mixed with rain here in the triangle... only snow when it comes down in greater intensities
12/17/2010 4:12:35 PM
I updated my forecast this morning:http://www.sandhillswx.com
12/18/2010 8:20:30 AM
Probably got a couple of inches already here now Asheboro, and radar shows we're not quite done yet.Unfortunately, being way out here in the sticks means that we're basically trapped until some serious melting occurs.
12/18/2010 2:03:06 PM
Well, I would be in NC when NOVA gets a snow storm on for three days (the main day being X-mas). The thing that sucks is if it is as much as they are saying, the main issue is getting back in the neighborhood. When we had 30 + inches last year, once I got out of the neighborhood everything was fine.
12/19/2010 12:40:58 PM
^^does weather like that occur on a regular basis every winter in Ashboro? If so, get a set of snow tires. Problem solved.
12/20/2010 9:14:51 AM
c'mon c'mon c'mon
12/21/2010 8:03:17 AM
Please put that into regular folk speak.
12/21/2010 9:09:08 AM
IT'S GON' SNOW!
