no beans in mineor anything really good since im dieting againno cheese, no guac or sour cream ...
7/11/2011 1:07:13 PM
wtf is the point of a burrito then?and i don't like sour cream in my mexican food. only on potato skins and baked potatoes. and maybe a dollop in chili. but beans are good for you!!!

To me, adding beans makes the whole dish taste only like beans, to me.

The Chipotle opening on Hillsborough street is going to make a killing.
7/11/2011 2:07:27 PM
yea i prefer sliced avocado to guac in my burrito. or guac on the sidebut cheese def goes in my burritos yes it does
7/11/2011 2:09:10 PM
I usually go to Moe's and I always get both black & pinto beans. Then I will get whatever meat I feel like for the day, rice, some the mild/pico salsa, cheese, and cucumber. I prefer cucumber to lettuce.

Do the Chipotles in the area charge a lot for guacamole in their burritos? I know the ones up north charge you an extra $0.75-1.00 for that, which is just ridiculous. I ask b/c I've never been to a Chipotle in the south.
7/11/2011 2:13:11 PM
i don't remember. i think it is prob like moe's where some burritos come with it and some don'tlike the veggie ones usually come with it. if it doesn't come with it then it is extra.
7/11/2011 2:16:10 PM
Chipotle doesn't include chips with their burritos, that's enough to boycott, imo.]
7/11/2011 2:17:16 PM
the real flaw of Chipotle is the lack of queso.

Hot Point at North hills used to have the best burritos!! even if I was sick I could always eat one. I don't know if they still have them or it's kinda now the quesadilla. Also the Cuban sandwich there is awesome!

Glad this got bumped back up. This thread inspired me. Working in Chapel Hill I went to Cosmic on Franklin and was totally unimpressed. The food was okay, but the restaurant smelled awful when we went there. After that I went to Carrburritos and WOW. Great. Also hit Armadillo Grill and thought it was alright, but not up to the level of Carrburritos, and Chipolte which was also okay but nothing special. This weekend we are making a run to Wilmington and because of this I now know of Flaming Amys and will give them a run to see if they are better than what I have tried. I will probably hit at least one burrito place this week though to try something else. So far I have gone to:1. Carrburritos2. Armadillo Grill3. Chipolte on Franklin4. Cosmic on Franklin

the El Rodeo on Six Forks had one of the best burritos I've ever had.Note, that this El Rodeo isn't the typical El Rodeo, like the one on Hillsborough, that is run by Hispanics and has the exact same combination dinners that all 'Mexican' restaurants have. This place was much different, had a wide variety of foods and fresh ingredients, and reminded me of something you'd find in CaliAnyway, I don't remember the name of what I got, and the website is down, but it was a huge burrito with chorizo and chicken. I love chorizo on occasion and you can never find it on a menu, except for with eggs or something. Cilantro, fresh tomatoes, cheese, black beans...was a great burrito. Now I want to go [Edited on July 11, 2011 at 3:03 PM. Reason : just realized I posted about this like a year ago. whoops.]

i think the el rodeo on six forks is not an el rodeo anymoreit changed again. still mexican but something else. maybe the menu / burrito didn't change though?!but this is prob why the website is down. because it is some other mexican joint now.[Edited on July 11, 2011 at 3:06 PM. Reason : .]

7/11/2011 3:11:31 PM
I ate there when the sign said el rodeo, but the menu said something different, and the wait staff was ridiculously annoyed by the fact we were patronizing their restaurant, and the food was not that great.

The problem I usually have with burritos at places like Moe's or Chipotle is the meat. The chicken is too dry or the beef is too chewy. How do you get around this?

Chubby's uses WAY too much dough in their burritos, which sucks because their meats, veggies, etc are incredible.

Has Dos Taquitos on Creedmoor Rd. been mentioned yet? I know it's not an "express" burrito place, but they do have the best Mexican food in Raleigh. Hands. down.
7/11/2011 10:17:28 PM
