Someone give this man a long-term contract. His redzone philosophy of " call a pass with low protection and trust Wilson to make something magic happen" simply cannot fail! It's that sort of sheer brilliance that has always been rewarded at NC State.
11/27/2010 6:51:16 PM
call another sweep play Dana
11/27/2010 6:57:53 PM
If TOB doesn't have the balls to get us up for this game, why do you think he has enough to fire a cancer survivor?
11/27/2010 7:06:11 PM
I simply can't believe we don't have a 2 minute drill. Or that we haven't been able to do shit in the red zone all year, and we still haven't done anything about it
11/27/2010 7:34:00 PM
Sweep Sweep Sweep Sweep
11/27/2010 7:40:13 PM
we left at least 21 points on the field. can't fault bible for that. we were in the position to make the plays to win the game, we just didn't execute.
11/27/2010 7:41:45 PM
It's a mistake to think that because some specific extra bad thugs happened in this fame then it excuses Bible's atrocious redzone playcalling. There's a reason we've stunk near the goalline all season.
11/27/2010 9:10:32 PM
obviously, you've been drinking
11/27/2010 9:33:26 PM
At this point if TOB won't fire Bible on his own, then he needs to go as well. Atrocious is what comes to mind.
11/27/2010 10:54:45 PM
alot of dropped passes by the WRs tonight...you cant blame that on him
11/27/2010 10:55:45 PM
Why can't you blame dropped passes on the guy who called the passing play? Maryland showed incredible weakness to 15 yard slants across the middle, so we start calling jump balls down the sideline? you're going to get those dropped when your WR gets jolted by the safety who had enough time to cover the field and make the hit.We scored 14 points quickly by attacking the middle, and then we abandoned it. Then we made sideline passes even tougher by running rollouts and dragging the QB spy over towards where we're throwing the ball.
11/27/2010 11:02:08 PM
^^Here's an idea, try running the fucking ball. And don't give me Moose got hurt because he had 2 damn carries in almost a quarter and a half. When we were LEADING 14-0 and going INTO THE WIND we still pass, pass, pass.[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 11:15 PM. Reason : but then again the play calls for runs are terrible too]
11/27/2010 11:14:42 PM
there's only so many shotgun formation draw and dive plays I can stomach.
11/27/2010 11:18:58 PM
1st and 10 - Shotgun Sweep2nd and 9 - Shotgun Sweep3rd and 11 - Grip it and Rip it, hope for a penalty.
11/27/2010 11:28:08 PM
11/28/2010 12:40:45 AM
I don't know why in hell we don't call options and screen passes. it seems that our team is cut out for those types of plays.
11/28/2010 2:52:00 AM
fuck dana bible
11/28/2010 4:49:51 AM
TOB will not fire Bible. However Bible "retiring" is a possibility.
11/28/2010 9:18:33 AM
11/29/2010 1:00:57 PM
People not knowing the nomenclature bugs the shit out of meWe haven't run a sweep or draw out of the shotgun one time this year
11/29/2010 1:03:59 PM
11/29/2010 1:17:38 PM
We ran read options, dude[Edited on November 29, 2010 at 1:22 PM. Reason : Or just dives. Are you one of the guys who was confusing draws with dives]
11/29/2010 1:18:28 PM
He is right, they were/are reads. However, the point of a read is that sometimes the QB keeps the ball and runs it himself, which RW never does on a read play so in turn it actually doesnt fool anyone.
11/29/2010 1:30:02 PM
I don't think even half of those plays are reads... they are going to the back by design most of the time.
11/29/2010 1:35:48 PM
Yea, well I consider HANDOFFS out of shotgun either draws or sweeps, which they are.
11/29/2010 1:48:34 PM
yeah, we aren't talking about the plays where RW handed off the sweep and then rolled out the other way, cause that's just a set up.[Edited on November 29, 2010 at 1:52 PM. Reason : I don't think they were options, it was more like a dual running play play action set up]
11/29/2010 1:51:45 PM
^^ Yeah, some are. There are plenty of other running types, though. Sounds like you're another guy who doesn't know wtf a draw is.
11/29/2010 1:53:16 PM
i don't know if you guys remember this but in TOB's second year, he made these comments about how they changed their offensive schemes around to fit the personnel because he has always been known as running an offense with a standard drop-back type pro QB style. i guess the question is, do we see them changing the schemes up for Glennon to go back to a more traditional offense?
11/29/2010 2:31:04 PM
And the answer is: yes, obviously.
11/29/2010 2:33:39 PM
we run quite a few zone read plays, RW just never keeps the ballprobably for good reason since he got concussed the one time he did his freshman year
11/29/2010 2:50:11 PM
11/29/2010 2:50:59 PM
ssly just because the dude came back from cancer (i am glad he is better) doesnt mean he isnt a shitty OC and should be fired
11/29/2010 10:44:00 PM
the complete lack of boot plays in the last game baffles me. it is so successful bc we have agile linemen who can block on the move and a quarterback that knows how to use open space. it's gold and bible shits on it.
11/29/2010 11:29:55 PM
NCSU is 2nd in the ACC (ACC games only) in scoring offense. Fire his ass! Some of you guys are clueless about college football.
11/30/2010 10:10:58 AM
We know that sometimes Dana's plans work, but our grievances are as follows:1) a lot of those points we score are based on scrambles by RW and, admittedly, lucky throws into tough coverage. and2) when Dana's plans DON'T work, or when they STOP working because defenses adjust, he never seems to shift his game plan. It's always the same set up, and I can sit in my living room and call the plays that are coming next on my tv with a much higher degree of accuracy than random statistics would dictate (I don't know how many plays NCSU has total, so I can't tell you specifically what my success rate is, but it's higher than 50%).
11/30/2010 11:30:56 AM
bunch of offensive geniuses ITT
11/30/2010 12:22:27 PM
We don't have to be offensive geniuses to know what Dana is going to run, only capable of recognizing and repeating simple patterns.
11/30/2010 12:46:54 PM
11/30/2010 12:59:25 PM
Yeah, I watch the games. And to further prove my point, I just spent 30 minutes rewatching the UNC game and charting the running plays. I used the UNC game because it's the only game available on ESPN3 in which we had any success running the ball. The results may surprise you!Every designed run is listed above, except for three dives by Washington to kill the clock on our final possession. Not a single sweep or draw from the shotgun, nothing even close. I could do this for every game, but it would be a waste of time seeing as I'm 100% correct.I remember now that you're the guy who doesn't know what the term 'recruiting' means, so I can see how you're easily confused by basic run concepts.]
11/30/2010 2:51:51 PM
LOL.Ernie not pulling any punches itt.
11/30/2010 2:53:41 PM
^^ I thought that was the same dudethank you for confirming my hypothesis
11/30/2010 2:57:51 PM
The real point to take away from this is not just how dumb eleueussis is, but how great our running game is when Bible varies the playcalling. I was pretty surprised to see that we didn't have a single run go for a loss.]
11/30/2010 2:59:24 PM
ITT Ernie makes excel spreadsheets about shit he doesn't understand. You wrote down 4 draws plays and listed them as zone reads. Classic.Rushing for positive yardage against Carolina's 3rd string defense isn't something I'd brag about, but you go ahead with that.
11/30/2010 5:12:32 PM
You watch those plays, find pass blocking and a delayed handoff and I'll carve an excel spreadsheet into my dick. And what four plays are you talking about? You realize on three of those reads, Wilson fucking kept the ball, don't you?I'm not bragging about rushing for positive yardage. I'm displaying surprise that we did it consistently. And third string or not, they're still in the top half of the conference in rush defense.]
11/30/2010 5:13:42 PM
dat pass blocking is da key yo
11/30/2010 5:18:24 PM
Crown my ass
11/30/2010 7:55:12 PM
^^I find it funny that Dana Bible get's zero love in the Church of Russel O'brien thread. It's a wordplay waiting to happen, and none of these flunkies seem capable of making the connection. Also:
