alright I'm trying not to be too hard on clausen because I'm not used to rookie qbs but the guy seems like he's making obvious mental mistakes on about 50% of the plays or more, why did he run out of the pocket on that last play when there was no pressure and why just throw it away on 3rd down?

he reminds me of when I'm playing madden without knowing the controls or something

has anybody ever told Tim Ryan that it's a bit unprofessional to use nicknames when talking about players/coaches?? He's been doing it for years

and didn't Steve Smith get pissed a couple of years ago about Sam Rosen calling him "Steven Smith"??

Texans era David Carr actually did pretty well for awhile despite getting sacked 50 teams a year (and hit a lot more). You are remembering the shell-shocked Panther edition.

i dont think he was that overrated by the nfl

he fell to the 2nd round and theres no telling where he wouldve ended up if the crack panthers FO who hired the cleveland browns OC and thought a lame duck coach with no players over 30 would be a good team hadnt picked him

that's tough, wasn't a great throw but not sure it was as bad to deserve an interception, who knows what the hell the team is going to do going forward, I'm also not sure some of this blame isn't on the offensive coaches for telling these guys something wrong

so we scored 6 points today

how many college offenses wouldve scored more against the bears?

alabama is basically the same team. two stud RBs, nothing else, crap QB. julio jones = not as good as steve smith but same basic idea

oregon's system is gimmicky as hell but I feel like it would work for maybe 3 games before the NFL figured it out

i doubt any of our receivers would get much separation in the NFL and RW wouldnt be able to scramble so we'd be basically reduced to throwing jump balls like we did against VT...though that did work some

stanford has a better qb and coach and I think at least that owusu guy might be NFL caliber

no one can use that "nfl >>>>>>>>> college" crap because half the panthers offense is rookies or guys playing as bad as them

anyway, how about starting greg hardy now, our defense isn't bad and I think can become great again if we get a pass rush, I guess the staff wants to give brown a little more opportunity but I've been impressed with hardy so far, also we'll get thomas davis back eventually

So, what are the chances we trade Smith this week? I am thinking the Panthers will blow the team up a lil, to truly declare the team as re-building. I hate to think of Smith on another team, but at the same time, it would be respectful and good to see him go somewhere with a chance to succeed before his prime years are completely over. Plus we need some quality draft picks or solid vets to stop this garbage.

Trade Smitty to playoff-bound team who needs another WR

Trade DeAngelo to the Packers for a draft pick

I seriously think we could end up being the second team in nfl history to go 0-16. I have no shame admitting to be a panther fan but so far I have yet to make it through an entire game. At least the chargers lose in style.

That was the most painful game I've ever watched. We are absolutely miserable.

I'd still prefer not to trade Deangelo, he's just too good. I don't know the contract situation though is he a FA next year? I guess if we're going to lose him for nothing it'd be okay.. but really does a 3rd rd pick or so even matter that much?

where is all of this Smitty trade talk coming from? Is it just a random post that we came up with, or does it actually have some legs to happen?

assuming we wind up getting the first pick in the draft next year, who do you think we go after? Think we would go after another QB in Andrew Luck, a WR like AJ Green or a defensive player like Patrick Peterson?

Given how poor our QB situation is, if we got a shot at Luck or Locker I think we'd be dumb to pass them up.

Particularly if there are lower caps on what draft picks can make next year.

If we can grab a decent veteran QB through trade or free agency I'd be fine with taking Dareus to upgrade our weak d-line.

^^^ i imagine it comes from him being visibly pissed and in clausen's face a couple weeks ago, and the fact that he's a really good player on a really shitty team.
