Wow, that game was an abomination.

Our defense is fairly strong actually but our offense might be the worst in the league.

Richardson is happy he is making a shit ton of money and he obviously didn't care to try to compete this year.

Had a feeling they jsut didnt want to pay Fox off so they let him wail around this year in his final season.

Cowher in 2011?

well he wasnt a scrambler or anything, no, but he could move around a little bit. i thought he was about equal to matt moore speed wise. ~4.75 40 i guess. he looks more like 4.9 so far

I'm a little pissed, the refs have thrown a bunch of flags and maybe they feel bad. An obvious offsides called a false start and an obvious PI, no call.

Obviously game over, but lets not forget a "forward progress" BS call gave CIN a TD.

I got flamed out of the panthers offseason thread for saying this during the summer. Turned out to be 100% correct.

Otah being out is an issue but the biggest loss was Keydrick Vincent. He was a beast at RG and helped open the lane in the middle.

But the biggest reason is teams are stacking 8 in the box and doubling Smitty and making the TEs and 2nd WR beat them so far its working. The Panthers better get used to it because every team is going to do it.

Yeah, for Richardson to be a "football man," it's hard to understand it. I know he's in it to make money, but at least field a competitive team.

interesting that thegoodlife3 after talking all that shit in the offseason thread is nowhere to be found the past few weeks in the panthers threads

You still want to take that bet on the Panthers being 8-8 or better? LOL

I will be the first to say that I was dead wrong about team expectations. I really thought Moore could get us to .500 or better. Now I just want a respectable record. To think we have to wait a whole year to try to make a watchable team is a hard pill to swallow.

yeah I don't think richardson is a total douchebag, my theory is him and fox already made an agreement this would be the final year and richardson is pretty much saving all his money and effort to start fresh with a new coach and possible new look in 2011, too bad this year is pretty much going to be unwatchable

Positives: Unlike last week, when it was 96 degrees with zero clouds and zero wind, it was cool and cloudy today

Negatives: Everything else

god dammit i'm wasted...thats what I get for letting South Africans convince me to drink Brandy

At least own the fact that you ran your mouth all summer and are now eating a pile of crow.

Saw the rumor mill that is the internet saying Jerry Jones has already gauged Gruden's interest in the Cowboy job.

You should start the coaching search thread Tree

Insider has this blurb up in their "rumors" column

Quote :
"UPDATE: Might the New York Giants be "the right situation" for former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher to return to the sidelines?

Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News wrote Sunday that it could be curtains for Giants head coach Tom Coughlin if Big Blue misses the playoffs again, and while Cowher has declined to comment on any potential job openings in the past, it's been speculated in the past that "coaching the Giants" might be on his bucket list. A loss to the Titans on Sunday certainly didn't help Coughlin's cause.

---

With his three daughters either rooted in their adult vocation or studying at college, Cowher has indicated that a return to being a head coach in the NFL is not inconceivable, according to Jerry DiPaola of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

However, he'll need a particular set of parameters. "I am not going to go back into coaching, just to go back into coaching," Cowher said Thursday night. "It has to be the right situation. And I don't know what the right situation consists of."

Given that there's already been talk of changes being made in several NFL cities -- the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns lead the list -- the speculation will only increase as the season goes along."

i swore i wouldn't pay actual money to watch the panthers play again after the opening game against the eagles last year.

I again make that pledge after getting suckered in this past sunday. What a joke.

you can almost tell everone wrote this season off already...Richardson didn't want to spend any money, Fox is a lame duck and the team is clearly a level below everyone else talent wise.

We'll be in the running for first pick in the draft next year.

The Charlotte Observer today is brutal.

The pic on the front page is Clausen getting rocked and then there is Sorenson stirring the pot with his article about trading Smitty.
