caroline actually seems like she still has a lot of room for improvement in her game, she was just kind of doing the same thing every match but granted she's very good at it, still I think if she developed more finesse at and around the net like hingis say it would really help her out, her offense was just starting to show now too

it was probably clisters' tournament this year anyhow, this should be a great match right now hopefully but I think clisters will come out on top

I don't know if it's good or bad for rafa that he's had just stepping stone opponents in to the finals, if federer makes it he'd have had much more of a challenge

federer is actually starting to suck in this match but he could still very well win, it's just kind of sad to see him make all these shitty errors he didn't use to make

novak's defense that match was about as good as I've ever seen anyone play, that's how he won it, federer just didn't have his usual focus though either

That was fantastic. Glad I switched over. I'm still rooting for Nadal, though... and so will most of Ashe tomorrow...

I was rooting for Djokovic, but I also will root for Nadal cause he's probably my favorite to watch

I hope it's another 5 setter though, but I think Nadal should cruise in 3 or 4

That was a really good match. It's hard to hold your serve right after you put so much effort in trying to break and win the match.

GO NADAL!

So pissed that federer lost. Really hope nadal makes quick work tomorrow or I might have to leave the match early to catch flight home, didn't realize us open doesn't start until 4... Has it always been like that?

shit novak needs to play with more offense, he almost had control of the 2nd set but then he got in to long points with him rafa and that's not going to cut it, although it worked against roger yesterday

US Open series is different from US Open. Its a point system for the entire summer hardcourt season and has an extra million or something attached to it. I'm too lazy to look it up but it seems perfectly reasonable that Murray and Wozniacki won regardless of what happens in NY since they played in a majority of the events.

^ I wasn't questioning that. I was just trying to figure out how maybe the ATP site screwed up and claimed Djokovic the winner. I understand the us open series. Clijsters made bank from both the open win and the 2nd place points finish.

what a match

I would have rather seen Federer and Nadal I guess, though

but I didn't want to see Fed take another one

Nadal beating Federer = <3

I didn't see the rest of the match but it's interesting to speculate about the future now, federer might only want to play one more yr now if he feels he's slipping, hopefully he could win two more grand slams or so, nadal I'd be interested to see his pace compared to federer, I thought I read he might be ahead but I don't know if that was just age or grand slams played or what

I'd like to feel sorry for Federer, but for some reason I don't

I never liked him all that much, but I can't figure out why

cause he's definitely a likable guy

so nadal has 9 titles now, 7 behind federer. But the stat that is scary... if federer was the best in the world, 5 of rafa's slams were against him in the finals. What's that say of nadal?

Nadal will emerge as the greatest I think

but it'll be a matter of opinion

I imagine they'll both end up with an equal number of majors, Federer maybe with the slight edge

if nadal can stay healthy, he'll get the majors record for sure

he has a great shot at being the title holder of all four slams at the same time

as well as a legimitate shot for a few years at least of getting an actual grand slam

I don't know I think it's too soon to make any guarantees, eventually the rest of the field just catches up to you like what happened with roger, I also wonder if nadal will run in to someone like what he did to federer, just someone that has the the exact game to screw up yours even though you're the dominant player
