^ thanks! I got the brewery tour as well. I went down for the first time a couple weeks ago and the food was great. The beer was expensive, but it was good too.

Maybe I missed this earlier, but DonMega, what does the referral do for you? Do you work for ZSpotDeals and get a small % from each one, or are you just using the "tell 3 friends and yours is free" thing?

3 and I get mine free

I usually check this thread before I buy anything on the deal sites to see if someone has already posted a referral link so I can help them out. If no one has posted a link, I post mine on the off chance that 3 other people will use it and I save $9.

Not a bad idea for people who already buy them and want to help others/possibly get something free themselves. We could work out a system so that the first person to buy it posts here and trys to get referrals, then once they get three they post again to let everyone know and someone else can post their ref code.

Or maybe I'm just too bored at work on a Friday.

I understand if you would rather give a referral to a friend than this random person, but if you're saying you would rather buy it from a link with no referral at all, that really makes no sense to me."

no, i'm usually aware (so far, "always") of the deal before i hear it about on tww, so why would i go out of my way to give someone else credit for nothing? seriously, i get nothing out of giving someone else something that's free and i'll be honest, i care more about me than someone i've never met

I guess the better question is.. why would you go out of your way to not give someone a referral?

let me guess.. cuz you're a dick

didn't i just point out how i know about this shit before it's posted on tww? why do you automatically jump to the conclusion that i find out about the "deal," and then specifically wait around for someone else to post it just so i can point out that i won't use their referral?

let me guess.. cuz you're a dick

personally, if I can assist someone with no detriment to myself, then I would choose that over the scenario where I don't assist them with no detriment to myself. that was really the root of my question, "what's the harm in helping someone for nothing?"

excellent point...not sure what to tell you, i guess i just figure that if i can't get something for nothing, i don't want to help someone else get something for nothing out of jealousy

you guys are putting far too much stock in this...it's not like i actively looking for ways to not help strangers...it's more than i don't care enough about the stranger obtaining a cookie to help them in the first place

[Edited on January 28, 2011 at 2:10 PM. Reason : tell you what, though, i might post referral links using my alias so you guys will use it]

I don't think I've ever seen a Groupon that didn't include alcohol. Restaurant.com certs are another story though.

"What happens when you cross Samuel Adams with Mr. Schue? No, it's not a glee-filled singing and dancing American revolutionary obsessed with getting to regionals; it's a hip beer teacher. Today's deal from American Brewmaster proves that Mr. Schadams exists: For $12 (regularly $25) score one Beginner's Homebrewing Class. Serving the Triangle since 1983, these ale aficionados will teach you about the many styles of beer, the fermentation process and how beer is made, and the history of brewing. You'll learn that creating your own barley pop is not only simple and fun, but also delicious. Grab a crew of your friends and brew it up together in this classroom, but hurry before it's last call on these savings."

^ I LOVE Midtown and am so pissed at myself for forgetting to buy the Groupon after I saw it.

Also--Did yall know you can use cashback sites when you buy things on Groupon? I didn't realize that, but another way to make the deals better http://savemoneywithmeonline.com/shopping-deals/cashback-site-comparison/
