haha I notice you guys glanced over the 8 turnovers. Congrats he had a decent game against the 2nd worst team in the East who may have the worst starting PG in the league (Jrue Holiday).

That game was a real treasure, two awful teams that couldn't stop the other shitty team from scoring at will. Blatche & McGee aren't doing well which means the Wizards are totally sunk this year. Brand is actually playing pretty well for Philly but the loss of Dalembert is too much for them to overcome to be competitive.

Like I said, he's fulfilling my prediction of being one of the league leaders in turnovers. The shooting percentage will tank in the next few games when they play a few more real teams.

Oh, no mention of the Miami Heat?!?! They just destroyed another team they are on a freaking mission. Can't wait to see how they do in the re-match with Orlando.

^^I love how he destroys, and brings up the fact that Wall played against a bad team and did well. Then goes on to praise the Heat for beating the shit out of the Timberwolves who will probably be the worst team in the league. Makes tons of sense, kudos to you.

John Wall is the new determining factor of how good a team's backcourt is. So far we have:

Hawks - bad
76ers - bad
The Rest - TBD

He is just ridiculously fast/quick. He pretty much makes Derrick Rose look average in the speed department, which is just amazing. He's also a pretty good finisher.

He'll get the turnovers down, but those are going to be high his first couple years (Steve Nash turns the ball over like crazy anyways...point guards with the ball in their hands ALL THE TIME are going to do that). The 9 steals was pretty damn impressive.

I know most people don't follow basketball, but I will try to explain it for you.

Nba teams records can be accurately predicted based on offensive efficiency - defensive efficiency. The data is incredibly well correlated.

Right now the heats efficiency metric is off the charts which lends credibility to their ability to win an absurd amount of games this year.

No one cares that they beat the t-wolves, that was nearly a given before the game was played. People SHOULD care that they won by 30 again, that was not a given.

As far as john wall goes his numbers will average out as the season progresses. Through 30 games last year people thought brandon jennings was the best rookie they'd ever seen and then he totally flamed out and ended up having a pretty bad season overall.

This will happen to Wall also. The wizards needed an off balance three to send it to OT to win in overtime by 1 on a questionable foul call at home vs one of the absolute worst teams in the league. Do you really think that bodes well for the Wizards?

Look at what phillys opposing pg's did to Wall. Jrue holiday had 14 pts, 13ast and the backup pg lou williams dropped 30 pts.

Perhaps wall got all those steals because he didn't bother guarding his man the other 90 plays.

Wall will have a much better season that Jennings ended up having. He's A LOT more physical and better at finishing than Jennings.

And the Wizards just such in general, I didn't expect them to be a playoff team just because Wall joined. They have a lot of work to do. When your go-to guy is Blatche, then you know your team sucks.

And I agree with you about the Heat. They even look like they are going through the motions in these blow-outs. Wade scored 26 pts in 24 minutes and it looked EASY. These guys just look like they have so much less pressure on them because they know they don't have to be THE MAN on every single play.

I'm not going to crown them just yet, but they could easily coast to 60 wins this year...I don't see 70 out of the question.

Everyone and their brother thinks OKC is a Western Conference contender and a 50+ game winner when in reality they are probably a ~45-46 win team this year.

I love watching Durant and Westbrook, but other than Sefolosha and Ibaka they are relatively weak. Jeff Green and their bigs are simply too unproductive to contend in the West. They should make the playoffs if they stay healthy, but they are still at least a piece away from being a legit top team.

I think them getting destroyed tonight by the horrendous Clippers should prove my point.

Also, don't forget that Durant cant make a fucking shot so far this year. If he isn't superman this year then they are a .500 team.

Wizards $1400 under (half 34.5 and half 32) 1-2

Philly $600 under (half 35.5 and half 34.5) 1-4

Warriors $300 over 30.5 3-1

Sacramento $200 over 27.5 3-2

Charlotte $200 under 39.5 1-3

Portland $100 over 51.5 4-1

Indiana $100 under 34.5 2-2

Utah $50 under 48.5 2-2

Nets $0 over 25.5 (liked it but laid off) 2-2

Pretty impressive. The three west overs (portland, golden state, sacramento) look terrific as all those teams were severly underrated for some reason. The Wizards and Bobcats look well under, particularly the Wizards.

Philly is probably a little better than their record indicates with Brand playing so well again so that will be a little closer than I anticipated they may even get to 30 wins this year rather than 25 or so that I figured on.

Utah looks like a 42-45 win team to me right now because the West is really deep, but this one could still swing on me. Hopefully they will salary dump Kirilenko around the deadline to seal it.

I wish I'd taken the Nets instead of the Pacers. Hibbert is playing out of his mind and they are getting good production out of McRoberts/Hansbrough at PF so far, that's the only one that doesn't really look good right now. So far I am right that Collison isn't really a huge upgrade over TJ Ford (who is underated), but I really overestimated the effect of Troy Murphy leaving because I didnt think Mcroberts/Hansbrough could replace him this well.

Yeah kobe is playing much better this season in reduced minutes. His numbers are up across the board per minute. I think the whole miami thing got his attention and he doesn't want to take the regular season off this year.

Also, since they don't have bynum they need him to play a lot better than he did last year.

Blake and barnes were big pickups for them.

Even still their o-u was like 57.5 which is a little too high for a team that in the past few years has coasted thru the reg season.

The lines are all slanted towards under bias b-c the totals add up to more wins then are physically possible because most people just bet overs in these things. I also don't like overs bc one injury can derail your bet.

Anyway, so far they look great but their opponents haven't been great so they are prob a tad overrated by the differential metric. I could see them winning 60-65 though if they stay focused. Just so many factors I'd rather go with the safer bets

safer bets than the back to back defending champs in a down Western Conference? safer bets like an unproven Miami collection of individuals who play in the same division as the Heat and Magic?

I didn't bet on the heat.

And yes, you really think the lakers were obvious to win 58 games with bynum out and kobes knee an unknown? Did they even win that many last year?

And the west is way stronger than the east overall. The formula prior to the year was adjusted 1.5 wins higher for teams in the east vs the west due to strength of schedule

We can both agree the talent margin between the West and East has decreased a lot over the last 5-6 years

Once CP3 and Melo leave New Orleans and Denver before the trade deadline, the East will clearly be a better conference, and the Lakers will be the team flirting with the Bull's record

So I have tired to defend OKC because I thought they were going to be an elite team, then they loose to the Clippers, then go on the road and beat Portland. I honestly don't know what to make of this team...I also don't know why Sefolosha is starting, while Ibaka is sitting on the bench. I know they don't play the same position, but I don't see why he should be starting.

you know chicago is almost fucked until they get a real shooting guard, you have to pair rose with some guy that can actually shoot and score, it doesn't work when he's taking every shot in the backcourt

John Wall has a great opportunity to set the all-time record for most turnovers in a season.

The current record is 366 which is about 4.5 per game. Thru 5 games Wall has 29 turnovers, 5.8 per game.

He only needs to average about 4.3 over the rest of the season (and stay healthy) to break the record and I don't see any reason he can't keep up his torrid pace.

Yeah rally, how's that John Wall prediction going so far?

Playing the same, or as well as Rose did in his first year. Still has to work on that shot a little, but he's just an amazing talent.

Yeah Wall is definitely outplaying the expectations I had for him. He will hit the wall though don't worry they've played a really soft schedule so far.

Its funny how this thread only gets bumped after his good games.

If you read the thread I said 72 was prob out the window when miller went down they just aren't that good without him and bosh is playing like shit right now.

Wow, the Miami Heat just scored 100 in the first three quarters.

If that team puts it together they could be flat out amazing.

John Wall has been sitting out these past few games to avoid setting the single season record for turnovers, good PR move on his part.

In other news,

1) Kevin Durant is still struggling... will he snap out of this??? OKC is in danger of missing the playoffs if he's not a superstar this season..

2) Portland was dying without Oden and now that Roy is hurt again they look like the same old luckless Blazers. Cant this team just be healthy for one playoff run?

3) Golden State. They've had a Steph Curry injury, a David Lee infection/surgery, and a Monta Ellis back scare and they still look like a Western Conference playoff team, unreal. Glad Vegas wasn't paying attention when they set the lines this year.

4) Utah. What the fuck Paul Millap he went from being the best 6th man in the league to the best player in the league??? Slow down dude jesus

5) Dallas. Don't look now but Jason Kidd is having a career year, the center tandem of Tyson Chandler/Brendan Haywood is just destroying opponents, and Jason Terry is back from the dead. If Caron Butler and Shawn Marion ever get back to form look out, Dallas is a contender.

6) The Spurs. Tiago Splitter the "big" addition is doing nothing but Jefferson is playing like circa 2003 Jefferson and Manu is playing healthy again. If Blair gets it back together and Hill and Parker fill in supporting roles.... there's really no one much better than Tim Duncan come playoff time still that has help...
6)

Welcome to 5 minutes after Lebron announced he was going to play for Miami

also don't forget about the Wizards...they're 4-8 on the year

which means they just need to go on a 5-65 run to finish the season, but since John Wall has already proven he isn't ready for the NBA, the 5-65 run to finish the season is a real possibility

What's interesting is that the wizards are 2-2 without wall and one of those losses was on the road in OT.

You could certainly make the case they are better with arenas and hinrich manning the guard spots while wall rides the pine.

Hopefully wall will be back in action soon

shaking my head big time at portland, after oden got injured last yr they still could have traded him for a star player likely, maybe chris paul but if not still some really good player and they didn't read the writing on the wall and now i doubt you could trade oden for a 1st round pic now, his career has living up to the number one pick is pretty much over now
