balotelli and lahm on man u = jt looking for new squad exposed??!?!?
7/19/2010 7:08:03 AM
haha. nah i can handle both of them on the team. i dont really like balotelli but he would be whipped into shape by SAF. although, from what ive seen and heard im still under the impression that united are not signing anyone else this summer
7/19/2010 7:17:09 AM
i've only seen one game with balotelli in it. he was subbed in around the 60 min mark and all the announcers kept talking about was how bad his attitude is, how undisciplined he's been reported to be, how bad his haircut is... after getting a yellow card out for a bad tackle made out of frustration, he ended up belting a free kick right past the keeper from about 30 yards out. after that, they were like, that's why everyone's willing to put up with him.
7/19/2010 8:21:24 AM
Joe Cole to Liverpool Fuck it all, you can't tell me the Glazers aren't ruining United. They claim there's money to spend, but you don't want to sign the best player available on a free? Something is very fucking wrong.
7/19/2010 9:57:37 AM
joe cole to liverpoolkiljadn to hang by his neck in his closet... lolthe only thing i could think if its not a money problem is that SAF doesnt want another player who is frequently injured on that squad. even the young players have had problems staying healthy on that team, and im sure the da silva injuries, hargreaves, owen, neville, brown, etc...nagging never ending injuries might have played a factor in him not taking a chance on cole...who he would have to pay a lot for per year. 90,000 a week i think is almost as much as rooney makesnonetheless, this is a good start by hodgson, though i have no idea how liverpool have money to pay cole too...lets see if he keeps the big stars or sells off mascherano and torres to keep them afloat[Edited on July 19, 2010 at 10:02 AM. 7/19/2010 9:58:23 AM
So Liverpool end up trading Benayoun for £6mil and the younger, better Joe Cole. ManU better start spending some goddamn money. I'm tired of reading about everybody else's wheeling and dealing.[Edited on July 19, 2010 at 2:36 PM. Reason : ...]

goal.com saying Real could be after Vidic
7/19/2010 2:47:49 PM
i still dont believe vidic is going anywhere. as far as im concerned 99% of what ive heard about transfers with him are rumors. especially if its coming out of real madrid's camp...
7/19/2010 2:52:37 PM
there's rumors about vidic leaving every summer, if he wants to go, they might as well let him. i don't know if they're the bullshit real madrid created rumors or if he really wants to leave though. good moves by liverpool so far. i don't like joe cole, but they've sold insua and benayoun for about 10 million, and signed cole for free, so nice work by hodgson. if they sell mascherano, thatll give them around 20 million more i'd guess, and i'd bet that a couple of other guys are on the way out too. i think they'll probably keep torres though. i think it's funny joey barton is talking about being in the england squad. while he is talented, i think he is about the last thing a troubled england team needs. they don't need him to burn another young players face with a cigar.
7/19/2010 2:53:44 PM
goal.com is a joke. They'll publish anything as long as it has a few words in it.

ManCity looking to buy Landon?http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=809671&sec=transfers&cc=5901I doubt Mancini is seriously thinking about it though.
7/21/2010 5:15:43 PM
i hope not, outside of barcelona and real madrid, man city is probably the worst place landon could go. they already have michael johnson, david silva, SWP and are going after a million other mids. he'd do much better to go to a team like everton again so that he could play most of the time.
7/21/2010 5:20:19 PM
^ nailed itThe only big club that I would like to see him with is Liverpool simply because Hodgson is familiar with him and would let him play to his strengths.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1296468/Tottenham-Hotspur-eye-New-Cristiano-Ronaldo-Bruma-Roman-Pavlyuchenko-Sporting-Lisbon-deal.htmlGood article on the multiple directions Spurs can go to solidify their attacking options for this coming season. Raul and Fabiano are mentioned as usual, but they also mention a possible trade for a 15 year old named Armindo Bangna Bruma. First I had heard of him, but the Ronaldo comparisons make me cringe. That's a lot of expectation to put on such a young player. If Chelsea is tracking, maybe they could keep him for a few years and then sell him for $london when the club can no longer afford him.The only drawback with that is that they are in the Champions League and need someone to contribute right now. That's why Luis HAS to be the guy.
7/21/2010 8:34:02 PM
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=809848&sec=england&cc=5901lol what, robben? dont see him in any future job of being an analysis....
7/23/2010 7:35:09 AM
If Torres and Cole can stay healthy I don't really disagree with that. Gerrard/Torres/Cole is a pretty sick lineup. I don't know about best in Europe but it's certainly up there. I think Joe Cole is a severely underrated player. If he wasn't hurt all the damn time he'd be one of the best players in the world, I think.
7/23/2010 5:00:26 PM
huge IFs and Gerrard is not the player he used to be...this is laughable[Edited on July 23, 2010 at 5:06 PM. Reason : torres isnt even gonna start the season healthy]
7/23/2010 5:06:03 PM
Truth about Gerrard. But he's largely carried Liverpool his entire career. He's still a very good technical player with good vision and finishing. Having another solid playmaker in Cole will help take some of the pressure off him. This is really all dependent on whether they can all stay healthy though. Which IS a big if, but you can't deny that there's a very talented core of attacking players at Liverpool.
7/23/2010 6:43:30 PM
lol, robben.
7/23/2010 7:15:15 PM
joe hart not looking very solid for city right now againt Sporting. they are losing 2-0 in this friendly in new york at halftime
7/23/2010 9:32:04 PM
oh really?
7/23/2010 9:37:03 PM
yeah. cable is awesome sometimes. sporting are playing some nice football. man city, meh. defense looks bad. not sure how many friendlies theyve played so far but this looks to be their first team or close to it....although with how many players they have on this team who the hell knows what the first team is going to be
7/23/2010 9:38:48 PM
i wouldn't be too upset if man city sucked donkey asshole next year... just saying.but really though, what does their first team lineup look like for the coming year? i'm too lazy to look it up now.
7/23/2010 9:45:29 PM
i have no idea. they arent done buying players i would assume.
7/23/2010 9:47:04 PM

He was drafted this past spring and was our best and fastest defender. In the highlights, it looked like KC had him playing left mid.

^cool. I didn't know that

pretty boring transfer window... nobody wants to buy except for CityI'd have to give the (unbiased) edge to Liverpool of the "Big 3 + 7th place team" in the summer transfer window if it's true that Torres wants to stay. Masch is good but they don't exactly need him against most of the teams in the Premier League and they don't have CL to worry about and they should just tell the Europa League to fuck off. And if they can use the cash on an adequate replacement, they'll be okay*.* okay as in, a chance to get back to CL next year, not win the league. So for my official prediction, I'm going to go with 4th for Liverpool. I'm not sure who the favorite is for the title though. I'm going to say this every season until it happens but surely Giggs/Scholes will finally break down, Carrick is shit, Nani/Valencia are good but definitely not Ronaldo replacements so they're basically asking Rooney to carry the team for another season... I just can't see them winning it. Chelsea's pretty much the same so I guess they have to stay favorites but I just have a bad feeling about them this year for some reason. Same for Arsenal. City's all over the place so I can't see how they'd be able to put it together to win the league. And then there's Spurs who have as good a chance as any of those teams. Should be a pretty interesting season.
7/28/2010 9:57:07 AM
liverpool just signed luke young, not sure if he helps a lot but i guess he's ok
