I just spent like 30 minutes searching through all the dubstep I have to find this song and it wasn't to be found. And then I remembered that Mistajam set posted earlier and that's where it was, then I just had to find the set list which is here.

DUUUUUMPand I know this isnt dubstep but this kid is killing it right now in the DnB world, like out of no where:

Anybody catch that Nero essential mix friday night? I've been listening to it all week, and it's pretty amazing i must say.http://a-sound-a-day.blogspot.com/2010/11/nero-essential-mix-bbc-radio-1-131110.html
11/19/2010 12:18:37 AM
^threw that in the electronic music thread. thought it was more fitting since 1/2 of it isn't dubstep.
11/19/2010 3:56:08 AM
Yea true, just thought I'd be redundant incase someone didn't check that thread.
11/19/2010 9:48:38 AM
Nero is like ice cream and rainbows having sex in my ears.

http://mixes.dabears.ca new dubstep mix out today. haven't heard it yet, but it's got some deadmau5 and skrillex so it should be pretty good

everytime i listen to it, it feels too short (which is a good thing, as time just flies by)raise your weapon is excellent, and i hadn't heard it before this mix.I was hoping he'd throw in something like Nero - "Me&You", or one of the new Chase and Stratus tracks, or "Slang Like This"
11/29/2010 11:18:53 AM
I really wish I had the voice of the guy who narrates the BBC essential mixes. Been listening to Nero all day. Truely good stuff.
12/1/2010 5:11:15 PM
I'm actually not a fan of Nero's essential mix. They fly through songs during the first dubstep part, some songs being played less than 30 seconds, with a lot of bad mixing (imo). Then there's a section like 15 minutes long that is so boring and obnoxious that I had to skip it. Then there was more badly mixed dubstep. Eastern Jam on top of I Need Air does not work. Sometimes two songs with vocals work well together but none of theirs did (and they did it several times). I really like all of the songs Nero has produced but their essential mix was a complete failure to me, I wouldn't listen to it again.
12/2/2010 3:35:41 AM
completely disagree. not sure which part you really didn't like, but i'll guess off your wording that it was the house/dnb section. dan and joe well represented both genres, transitioned well, and played some enjoyable tracks.mixing wasn't at all bad IMO. the songs they put near/on top of each other usually fit pretty well. I liked it all, only part i thought was even questionable was how they used the first "me and you" over "welcome reality." Just think too much of "me and you" for it to be used like that, it didn't sound bad, but i would have been upset with the mix if they hadn't come back to it at the end like they did. i need air worked surprisingly well with eastern jam IMO. it wasn't quite as brilliant as the short mix he had for mistajam about a month beforehand, but it was none the less very good.
12/2/2010 12:57:01 PM
Listening to that "Havoc" mix by dabears again. I like the music, but the track choices and mixing aren't as good as any of the previous dabears mixes :-/
12/11/2010 9:59:10 PM
^I'm going to agree that it could have been better. A lot of very good tracks have come out since the last mix, and I expected some of them to be on it. BBC is doing a dubstep takeover this week. i meant to post about it.Stories: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wbqc6 (for those just getting into the genre, or those who just wanna hear again about the roots, this covers how the genre was starting to get big from like 2000ish-2005 if I remember right) Annie Mac's show: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wbtzq (with Magnetic Man and Subscape mini-mixes)then the dubstep takeover shows:http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wfggy http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wfq65http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wfh9pand this one isn't up yet but: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wfqfs

12/11/2010 10:54:19 PM
^you clearly don't know what you are talking about. "Techno" is a kind of electronic music, but not all electronic music is "techno"
12/11/2010 11:24:24 PM
^^it's not techno

I am a huge 'techno' fan (ie, trance, house, psy, dnb, etc) but I think most dubstep is crap. I'm sick of all the hype it gets out here on the west coast, but I think people are getting bored with it, so maybe it'll die out soon.it's too repetitive and slow for my taste. plus it sucks to dance to
12/25/2010 10:57:43 AM
i like a few songs here and there that i have heard but i agree with the repetitiveness of the "sound"gets a little boring and old after a few songs
12/25/2010 3:11:17 PM
I tend to agreeI contemplated doing a dubstep night once a month but I realized that there's no way I could play or listen to that kind of music for 4 hours in a row
12/25/2010 3:46:50 PM
don't think it's by any mean repetitive any more than any other genre of music.
12/25/2010 7:38:46 PM
^^4 hours of the stuff might be a bit much (for the people around here at least), but that's why you mix it up a little! Throw in some electro, some top 40 remixes for those who can't comprehend the awesomeness of the other shit, and maybe some random other shit that might fit in.
12/25/2010 10:00:23 PM
nahthere's a reason 'house' 'acid' and 'trance' parties last until noon the next daythere's only so many bass drops you can listen to in an evening and dubstep is just too freakin slow to keep everyone up and dancing all night.cool concept and i'm always a fan of any kind of music that blends genres, but dupstep= meh[Edited on December 26, 2010 at 12:37 AM. Reason : seriously, BigEgo that song sucks]
12/26/2010 12:29:05 AM
yea big ego that song isn't helping the argument and i love dubstep.
12/26/2010 12:19:44 PM
don't care what you think of it, it's sweet. 6 minutes in. BASS CANNON!
12/26/2010 4:44:37 PM
dubstep homers are just another rehashed version of the happy hardcore/gabber kids that dwindled out a few years agosome tracks are pretty cool when played in isolation, but there's a ton of crap out theretrance and house will never die
12/26/2010 6:43:37 PM
there's some good trance, and there's some good house, but there's a ton of crap in those two genres. some of it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but i don't view this thread, or any thread for that matter as a place to convert someone.just sharing good tracks/mixes/sets in the world of dubstep with others that appreciate it. first track on that set is MJ Cole - Be Sincere, but the second is a bootleg of some 80s "crush on you" song (also seen on his essential mix). I'd love to see Nero actually release it.
