I'm pretty sure they said Strasburg's start was being pushed back to the 8th so he could throw in the all-star game should he be invited

FUCK YOU FOX
7/1/2010 11:13:32 AM
^should still be able to get the Nats broadcast on MASN though right?
7/1/2010 11:23:10 AM
Fox Saturday games are exclusiveand most of us don't get MASN anyway
7/1/2010 11:26:31 AM
lol that doesn't make any senseso we're in the nationals market but they give us the braves game? shouldn't I be able to see the braves then?
7/1/2010 11:30:04 AM
any word on his injury?
7/27/2010 8:22:12 PM
we were in the braves market before the nationals existed and thus are still in the braves market... or so I would assume?

Tommy John surgery "probable." 12-18 months.http://tinyurl.com/2937kja
8/27/2010 11:04:30 AM
Man, that sucks. He was good for baseball in a market that needed it.
8/27/2010 11:05:16 AM
RUH-ROH
8/27/2010 11:06:30 AM
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PITCHING PROSECTFor his sake, I hope he comes back in 2012 and picks up where he left offBy that point, Harper could be in AA or AAA and they could be ready to actually contend
8/27/2010 11:08:48 AM
Strasburg is the next Mark Prior.
8/27/2010 11:11:00 AM
8/27/2010 11:20:28 AM
Have you never seen that quote before? It's practically Baseball Prospectus' motto.and lots of people come back stronger from Tommy John. Watch him go Henry Rowengardner and come back throwing 106.
8/27/2010 11:22:15 AM
guess the number of nationals games i go to next year just dwindled
8/27/2010 11:32:52 AM
^^ The list of people really is staggering. Chances are high he'll make a comeback and they're also decent he can be just as good. Chris CarpenterBilly WagnerJosh JohnsonA.J. BurnettManny DelcarmenJoakim SoriaRafael SorianoFrancisco LirianoTim HudsonObviously some have done better than others lately. But as the baseball writers have been tweeting, it's better this than a bad shoulder injury.
8/27/2010 11:47:06 AM
Goodbye 100 MPH
8/27/2010 11:49:08 AM
Read a thing with James Andrews saying how the elbow is just a simple hinge, whereas the shoulder is ball and socket combined with a hinge that rotates a full 360 degrees. They say the Tommy John equivalent of shoulder surgery has yet to be discovered.
8/27/2010 11:50:46 AM
Was it a third grade health book you readWho the fuck doesn't know that
8/27/2010 11:51:36 AM
Haha, seriously.TJS is so common now that it's not even a huge deal aside from development being delayed. Shoulder surgery is pretty much a death knell to your past stuff.
8/27/2010 12:02:39 PM
I'm accepting prop bets that Kris Medlen comes back stronger than Strasburg
8/27/2010 12:05:23 PM
8/28/2010 2:54:30 PM
this really sucks, after all the protecting that the Nats did with him, he still got exactly what they were hoping he would avoid. I saw a stat on sportscenter this morning that said the average attendance at Nats games is around 22,000, when Strasburg starts the attendance average is 34,000. I hope he comes back, it was fun seeing all the buzz he created and the way he backed up the hype. Plus he was a solid contributor to my fantasy team
8/28/2010 3:01:11 PM
guys.i didn't see this coming.
8/28/2010 3:45:49 PM

8/28/2010 4:59:18 PM
i think it was Rob Dibble
8/28/2010 5:03:04 PM
Bump
7/20/2011 11:26:10 AM
talked about him yesterday with a friend. i have a ball personally signed to me by him
7/20/2011 11:43:16 AM
that's sure to have some sentimental value for a long time
7/20/2011 12:12:18 PM
i can't imagine getting a baseball signed by someone younger than me and being really excited about it.
7/20/2011 12:39:48 PM
Strasburg hits 95 mph in a simulated game. Talks of him returning at the end of this year.http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/19/stephen-strasburg-hit-95-m-p-h-in-a-simulated-game/
7/20/2011 3:04:53 PM
I guess they can sell tickets with him pitching. Otherwise, there's no point as the Nats are far out of it (again).
