i was in atlantic city last week and it's remarkable how much they are advertising the show. every hotel/casino i went to had "prohibition inspired" cocktails as well as multiple signs for boardwalk empire.

i heard "pimp's cup" as well the first few times it was said. i had no idea what it was or was referring to until later on in the Senator's office when the delivery arrived. some bad pronunciation or acoustics or something there.

the guy slicing the girl's face was wretched, i was very squeamish with that scene even tho i knew something was gonna happen (i was betting on the guy stabbing her). i wonder if Jimmy and Al will find out who did it to exact revenge, even tho we know who did it and why.

the whole Nucky/Mrs. Shroeder thing is quite bizarre in my mind. i'm not sure what the show is trying to get across regarding Nucky's persona, that as much as he is a whore-monger and drinker and politician he still longs for certain conservative and old-fashioned styles of life? one woman, family, house, etc?

Yeah, Nucky's girl is the typical girl who he is "supposed to be with" at that time. Non-questioning trophy girl. You can tell he tries to be tolerant of her because that's what he's supposed to do but he isn't completely thrilled. Schroeder is intriguing to him because she's a girl that actually has her own thoughts and opinions and isn't afraid to share them. And for guys like Nucky, I'm sure a little bit of the attraction/intrigue is in the game (in other words, she isn't a "I'm Nucky Thompson" bang) and not necessarily the girl.

It still trips me out that Jimmy's mom looks like she is 27 or 28 and by far the hottest chick on the show, lol... So as the show goes on who gets the Dutch Schultz role? What's Tim Roth doing these days?

I am becoming impatient. And to tell you the truth, I am getting bored with everything the involves Nucky. The entire celtic dinner scene could have been cut short by 10 minutes.

I hope they start focusing more on Chicago actually. Shit is about to get heavy there. I am tired of the bootlegging bureaucracy. I want bootlegging carnage.

the scene between Pearl and Jimmy and his story of Mr. Lancaster was seriously one of the best of the night, actually every scene between them was great. I was half expecting the outcome but it still saddened me when it finally happened.

I felt really bad when the girl killed herself (I dont remember names). I thought her to be one of the best looking girls on the show and something charismatic about her. Then her face gets fucked up and Jimmy didn't even want to give her a kiss because of how she looked.
