Just about anyone on Maryland's roster: Blake and the other guard (not Dixon, the one that kept hitting game winners against us), Gilchrist, Vasquez, Baxter--and don't forget Mr. Punch-you-in-the-nuts Chris Paul

and if you just want douches in general that weren't necessarily thug like: hansbrough, paulus, reddick, I'm sure there's plenty I've forgotten

It must have been bad. One year ('05 I think) i snuck in a "PACKPRIDE.COM SUCKS" sign on the back of one that had the classic "Rashad McCants STD Chant Face" on the other side.

from the N&O game "observations":

Quote :
"About midway through the first half, security had to be called to deal with an incident behind UNC's bench, where Wanda Williams - coach Roy Williams' wife - and the Tar Heels contingent of friends and family members were sitting at the RBC Center. Apparently, the N.C. State students sitting behind those clad in baby blue were waiving signs and other things that bumped into the Carolina folk. According to UNC spokesman Steve Kirschner, the State students were asked to step back by the officers, and "it was no big deal."

Pregame signs at the RBC Center included "Where's Larry?" (referring to Larry Drew II); LOL 38% Henson (referring to UNC forward John Henson's free-throw percentage); and something apparently written in Chinese (the game was being televised in China)."

Wanted to hop in here and say that Vandy played excellent defensive basketball last night, got a few points under the basket, and generally looked like he understood what was going on.

It was bullshit that he was getting fouls called on him because Zeller was running his face into Vandy's arms...

The alley-oop to Vandy was priceless.

He looked damned athletic on that alley.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes.

Where has this Vandenburg been?

He's not all-acc or anything, but those were quality minutes.

we made a great run while he was in, and he was CONSTANTLY altering the shots of guards who attempted to penetrate while he was in.

Looking at his stat line you wouldn't know it...but he played like a man possessed last night. Would love to get that type of energy from him regularly.

Other side said "Larry Drew II couldn't handle the Carolina shower scene". Guy at the door when I got in the RBC took it.

Would've been an awesome tribute to TBDV with the koala picture I had stapled on there too.

If he could keep the fouling under control and learn how to grab a rebound he could actually become a contributer unlike our other recent 7 footers.

Is there any way to change thread titles? And if so, can this be renamed to THE BIG DANDY VANDY (TBDV)?

Have to admit, his three at the buzzer against UNCW in the tourney was pretty baller. I love how he just kept running on back to the locker room.

Sign me up for TBDV bandwagon. Everyone knew he was going to be a project, but he's coming along nicely at the end of the season, especially with his footwork. A summer of weight training and a Big Man Camp somewhere, and he'll be a nice option going into next season. If nothing else, that motherfucker leaves it on the floor everytime he's out there.

It would be a great help if he could consistently come in and give us big man minutes like Matt Hill does at Texas.

I think next year, we need to get some signs on TV that say THE BIG DANDY VANDY, so that the mainstream media picks up this awesome name.

Contributing solid minutes. He's no longer a huge defensive liability (no longer a foul per minute player), and he's starting to look like he's actually got a bit of athleticism.

He's never going to be a starter, but I'm good with him averaging 8-10 minutes per game.

^I could see him being a starter by the time he is a senior (it depends more on who else we have who can actually play center). I think he is a couple steps quicker than zoubeck (sp?) but he seems to be seriously lacking in fundamentals.

I think the biggest problem with TBDV's play up until the unc game was that Lowe would put him in, something would happen (usually his fault, giving up a layup or some shit), and then Lowe would pull him, chew him out, and put him back on the bench. I'm all for coaches laying into players when it's warranted, but Lowe should have used a few of those as teaching moments and let him continue to play. Of course he's going to play nervous if he thinks that the first time he isn't perfect that he's getting yanked. It's not like the rest of our players don't commit bonehead fouls or idiotic plays..

here's what i've seen him improve on the last couple games:

- being more assertive as a scorer, but still taking very high percentage shots
- playing good defense, affecting shots, and clogging the lane, all without fouling
- hustling down court

i still think he needs to work on his rebounding though, which should be relatively easy...i remember a couple times in the Georgia Tech game where he boxed out his man and could've had an easy board, but he just stood there
