I'm a high school journalism adviser, and I know a few of my kids who are going to N.C. State in the fall are thinking about being Technician writers.

If I were to pitch to them my idea about an all TWW column does anyone think they'd take it? I'd fill the hell out of those news paper pages.
3/19/2010 1:25:37 AM
I can just imagine that column now. It'd be filled with three line quotes.
3/19/2010 1:43:41 AM
TWWNEWSPAPERSUCCESS

The only issue I have with a potential pitch to the Technician about this idea is what in the hell I could fill up a full column with about TWW happenings that isn't just porn, cussing and .gifs.

This can be your first column: http://brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=589727

I loved Tim Coffield until he wrote mean things about Florence (the parking deck lady)and I think either jackleg or EVroccck made a TWW crossword puzzle that was published]

Smart game by them with selling that Final Four paper by hyping it up and making it initially go out of stock, such chances come far and few for the dying medium. As a regular reader, I was disappointed to not find a copy... anywhere. It was crazy!
4/16/2024 7:42:04 PM
They were on sale for at least a few days
4/16/2024 8:10:46 PM
I know, I already had the ACC one, so I didn't care much for going out of way to buy a copy.

I should mention that the art that accompanied my serial was contributed by Elizabeth Tamer (eptamer). She had a comic of her own in Technician, which is what made me reach out to her. I wish I could remember the name of her strip. She died in 2015. Her birthday was earlier this month. She would've been 40.The tickets to Kill Bill: Volume 2 that I mentioned earlier in the thread? I took her to see it since she was my partner on the serial. She contributed some story ideas in addition to the art.I wanted to do a lot more work with her, but shit went left for me, and things just never quite came together. The last thing we started on was a bootleg Batman comic I wanted to self-publish, just a goof. The serial was a good experience, and I wanted to do all kind of work with her. World's a darker place without her in it.

How did she die?
4/30/2024 5:53:11 PM
Hopefully something hereditary
